  1. If there isn't going to be a PC version, then The game "set to launch on next-gen consoles in the near future" is whatever is the game Daoka has been working on for 2 years now. Nothing has been revealed about what platform(s) Outcast 2: Electic Ulukhailoo will appear on yet.
  2. Pfft, cars are so 2051.
  3. I guess the one question remaining is, when is the Kickstarter? /prepares wallet
  4. Man, the Misery Mod is brutal. I tried starting as a sniper, but they start you off in a really dangerous area and with a bolt action rifle. Ther area is packed with packs of dogs and other fast moving beasties and that rifle simply doesn't fire fast enough to take them all down before they're on you, then it's a scramble that generally ends with me dead right quick. Started up again as an assaulter. With that class I got to start off at the Ranger Station and finally made my way to Skadovsk. Even the super early stuff like getting the artifact from the Dredge was tough and took me several deaths. No chance of taking on all 3 stalkers at once, not with my health draining and the stalkers having great aim, I had hand over the artifact then take him out as he ran back to Skadovsk, and even that took me a couple of tries. It's going to be ruthlessly difficult to get through the whole game. It's like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat Prepare to Die Edition. I love it.
  5. 2.0 is out, it released today. I'm already playing it. It's brutal. I love it.
  6. Getting my ass thoroughly handed to me by The Zone in the Misery 2.0 mod for CoP, and loving it.
  7. I wonder if it would be possible to make weapons do less damage at certain ranges. For example, I would set it up so that shotguns lose very little, if any, accuracy over range, but the amount of damage they do drops off dramatically.
  8. Katy Perry California Gurls. No wonder I never heard it before. I suppose that as long as you're blatantly and shamelessly using sex to try to push your undoubtedly microtransactioned to death game, you might as well rip off crappy bubble gum pop lyrics while you're at it.
  9. Well, what makes me think that time will elapse on its own in the game is that it did in the Fallout games. When he mentions getting a call about something happening over the radio then having a choice to ignore it, or try to do something about it, then you may or may not make it there in time, makes me think that time will elapse during the game on its own. I'm hoping some events like this will trigger on their own in the game and not when the player reaches a certain area or talks to a certain person or performs a certain action. If you happen to be nearby when the event triggers you can choose to intervene or hightail it out of there and let it play out on its own. If you're far away you may try to get there but not reach it in time. Heck, maybe things will happen that you may not even ever find out about if you never go back to that area. That's what I'm hoping he meant by that.
  10. I just hope that it's not all smoke & mirrors and they actually deliver. It sounds like they're implementing what I am hoping PE would do (though it's unlikely because the IE games didn't do it and I think Obsidian is going for a more focused narrative), have time elapse during the game, either all the time, or when traveling across the wasteland, and have events happen at certain times whether you are there to affect the outcome or not.
  11. No telling yet. Considering that it's not taking place on Columbia, all bets are off. That's a whole other batch of circumstances. I mean I know it's the 50's and all but I doubt a father would lit a cigarette for his daughter. Cigarettes were considered as smoked vegetables in the 50's. They were borderline recommending giving them to babies in place of formula, or so I have been told.
  12. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat Misery 2.0 mod is out!
  13. Company of Heroes Reversal is the new Russian Reversal?
  14. It's a great deal, but I own all the games from the bundle that I'm interested in already. It's definitely worth picking up if you down already won SR2 & 3.
  15. Fargo Talks Reactivity I love the fact that you can kill absolutely anyone in the game and if that person was critical to furthering the story, oh well, deal with the consequences, find a different way to proceed. I've always felt that was a better way to proceed than invulnerable characters or essentially a clone taking their spot. Anyway, this all sound really fantastic and it sounds like Fargo & Co. are swinging for the fences. 3 thoughts: 1) I hope this doesn't go the way of Broken Age, I hope Fargo has done a better job of managing the funding and staying within what they can actually accomplish with the money, because this sounds really ambitious 2) This sounds great, but will they actually follow through with this or is it just boasting? 3) I'm usually in favor of releasing a game that's as bug free as possible, but if they're going to keep pushing more reactivity into the game until the last second that will undoubtedly mean unforeseen breakage at launch, and I'm actually fine with that. I can deal with bugs and breakage for a few weeks/months if it means a more lifelike breathing world.
  16. I got a bunch of blue weapons, they're just the same blue lev 40 weapons you can buy from the astral diamond trader. I sold some of them just for silver to clear room in my inventory and saved a few to sell in AH later. The market is flooded with them currently, but later on they may fetch a decent price since I suspect the ones you buy from the trader are likely bind on pickup, if so, I can sell them for a bit under the trader price, if not I'll sell them for silver. I think I have 9 or 10 eggs total now. I also got a pair of slotted purple pants. Now I just need a slotted purple shirt and a bunch of rank 7 enchantments and I think I can get my equip score to about 12k. (currently 9940)
  17. Currently wiping my existing Call of Prypiat installation and redownloading the game so as to have a clean install ready for the Misery 2.0 mod. In theory, I probably could have made it work with my existing install, but with it being already fairly modded, well, why make things more difficult than they have to be.
  18. As will I, likely, because it's an easy way for me to have the game on my Linux and Windows installation concurrently. If the game uses cloud sync, I can even easily share save games between OSs.
  19. Ohhh, ooooh, ooooooooooh, that hurts. That really does. An ork socialite is funny and all, but it's unfortunate that you went with the useless etiquettes for (I assume you're playing Dead Man's Switch, correct me if I'm wrong,) Dead Man's Switch. I don't choose skills based on trying to minmax my character, I choose skills based on a concept I have for a character and play him or her accordingly.
  20. This reminds me of those old Evony ads exploting sex. These days, I guess Wartune, whatever the **** that is, is the champion in that area: I have to admit that "Our sun-kissed skin so hot... Will melt your popsicle!" is a pretty fantastic slogan. On the one hand, I still remember the name Evony, so I guess the ads worked in that regard. On the other hand, I never played the game or clicked on any of the ads, so...
  21. Doc Wagon is the Phoenix Down of Shadowrun.
  22. I shudder to think of the Lovecraftian house Prosper would come up with.
  23. Misery 2.0 mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Prypiat released today (a day early!) so I'm playing Look At The Clock. When Do I Get To Go Home? Why Isn't It Time To Go Home Yet? I Wish I Was At Home Right Now Downloading The Misery 2.0 Mod. It's a pretty frustrating game, but there's a big payoff at the end... I hope. Once I do get home the time it will take for me to DL the mod should give me just enough time to run through what I'm assuming is the final mission in Shadowrun Returns. Edit: Oops, never mind, I guess it doesn't release until tomorrow. The title at the top is misleading. GAH! Now I have to wait a whole extra day... again! Curses!
  24. So far it seems like SMGs are the worst weapon type in the game, mostly because they just chew through their ammo far too quickly and don't do enough damage to really offset you having to reload all the time. On the other end of the spectrum, I rarely have to reload my rifle, even when I use full auto. Force 4 elementals are pretty pretty boss, especially when you can confidently keep them around for several turns and pump them up with 4 AP every turn. Barriers are fantastic against melee enemies, especially since I never bring any melee runners along, so it never hiders my team. My shammy rocks.
  25. I'll jump into the editor as soon as I'm finished with the campaign. I'll likely do something quick and simplistic first, just to get my feet wet, before venturing into a lengthy branching (if that's possible) campaign.
