  1. You're welcomed This is inspired by the Lightning Rod build and The Fate Testarossa build, after I saw these two I think 'hey why not combine these two togther?!' And there you go =)

Feet: Any of your flavor Armor: Aloth's Leather Armor ® , Saint War Armor ® Neck: Bone Setter's Torc ® Belt: Ngati's Belt ® Rings: Ring of Overseeing ®, Ring of Overseeing ® Hands: Boltcatchers ® --------------------------------------------------------------- Screenshot of the character&gears: After a few Heat of Fury + Static Thunder: --------------------------------------------------------------- Demo video: --------------------------------------------------------------- First, since I haven't see a lot single class build, I made one because I think Barbarian has the great potential for its lvl 8, 9 abilities. Secondly, this is not a solo build, I just made this for fun, but has great potential to be changed to one Core item and abilities for this build is Berserker + Heart of Fury + Barbarian Retaliation, plus Lord Darryn's Voulge + Deltro's Cage Helm + Nemnok's Cloak. Confused turns the Static Thunder of the Voulge to friendly fire AOE because we want to hurt ourselves with lightning attacks to trigger Conduit from Deltro's Cage Helm. Also Nemnok's Cloak keeps us from dying because after a few Static Thunder the lash damage gonna be too high that we gonna die from it. Heart of Fury will give us enough extra hits to proc critical attacks -> more Thunder Static -> charge ourself with elec damage -> bigger Heart of Fury and autoattacks. If you are soloing Nemnok's Cloak is a must for this build, otherwise, let a Priest or Shielbearer to barring death you so you won't suicide too soon due to Static Thunder. To optimize the effect of Heart of Fury, I picked Ring of Overseeing x2 + Aloth's Leather Armor, plus max INT so the aoe range gonna be very satisfied. High INT also extend the duration of Barring Death Door so we won't die too soon. Max PER and pick Bone's Setter Torc for more critical chance because we wanna crit a lot to trigger Static Thunder. Dump RES and -10 Deflection from Berserker gonna help us get critical hit to synergy with Barbarian Retaliation and Ngati's Belt's Retaliation. Also extra hits from Retaliation will trigger more Thunder Statics(one core of our build). As for race, I choose Human because the character gonna be at 1 hp anyway so the extra accuracy will be sweet to grant more crit. Death Godlike will be good too but I prefer Human for the acc. If you unfortunately run out of source for Heart of Fury. Use Barbarian Smash or Dragon Leap instead. Since after a few Heart of Fury(assume you get some source back from kills because of Blood Surge so you can use more than 2 HoF), your lash bonus from Deltro's Cage Helm is soooo high that your Dragon Leap can one shot anyone too Also Vengeful Defeat can do the kill blow if the Barring's Door from Nemnok's Cloak runs out of time(Like a time bomb ), and replace Aloth's Armor with Eder's Saint War Armor if you want extra VD. A variant of this build would be a multiclass Berserker/Helwalker. You will get Heart of Fury -> Flagellant's Path, Barbarian's Retaliation -> Swift Flurry + Heartdruming for replacement. Also Helwalker's extra STR can make Static Thunder AOE damage even more powerful. I'm not sure if the single class build or the multiclass one is stronger but both are very fun to play. But I will avoid Monk now just because I think self-triggering of Swift Flurry+Heartdruming is stupid. Overall, this is a HEAVILY HEAVILY offensive build, discard any defense to max the AOE output. So I called it the ULTIMATE Suicide Bomb, enjoy!
  3. In my own playthrough, I never use potions/drugs, traps, explosives, scrolls and food. That's just a personal flavor because I never use any consumables in bg2 and poe 1. I like per encounter abilities granted by gears tho. Imo with the time wasting on designing different kind of consumables, they should make more unique items and make them more interesting. I know there are a lot players using consumables, but there must be a lot players who don't. So why waste time on something used by only part of audience, but not on something used by everyone?
  4. Also you can use Pull of Eora scroll to pull all enemy together before blast. The material can be easily purchased from dark cupboard and the herb shop beside. Cost is 450 gp in total if i remember correctly. Very cheap and super fast cast time.
  5. PL is not a separate multiplier for spell-based or spell-like abilities. It is a base multiplier for martial abilities. That's why you can do obscene damage with something like Inner Death. For spells, it is treated as an additive bonus like might. I have a power level mechanics thread here: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/99409-mechanics-power-level-compilation-thread/ Hey thelee, so it seems the scrolls are behaved different from spells? I'm a little confused about PL bonus on spell/scroll now.. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102629-scroll-assasinmonk-crazy-dmg/
  6. So someone said PL is an additive bonus to spells, but from OP's screenshot it seems PL is a base multiplier? Otherwise can't explain why Pillar of holy fire can do around 1000 damage. 255.4 Roll has already include scroll base damage and PL bonus right?
  7. From my observation, both HoT(heal on tick) and DoT(damage on tick) is bugged in some degree. I raise the following example to demonstrate my opinion. Fighter Unbending, so we know fighters get heals from damage he takes, actually the in-game mechanism is the system applies a HoT on fighter whenever he takes damage. This logic seems flawless, but there is something wrong here. Lets imagine the case where a fighter activates Unbending, and get 100 x 5 damage in a row, and here is how things goes: 100 damage, 25 HoT -> 100 damage, 50 HoT -> 100 damage, 75 HoT -> 100 damage, 100 HoT -> 100 damage, 125 HoT -> normal tick after 3 sec, 125 HoT -> normal tick after 6 sec, 125 HoT -> ... -> end. We can see the red letters are the issue ones, every HoT not only stacks with itself, but triggers a tick instantly when being hit. Imho how it should work is like this: 100 damage, 25 HoT -> 100 damage -> 100 damage -> 100 damage -> 100 damage -> normal tick, 125 HoT -> normal tick, 125 HoT -> ... -> end. The problem with the current system is, with enough damage, your HoT is bigger than damage you take, and every time new damage comes, the HoT is triggered and therefore u become immortal during unbending. Imagining u get hit by 100 damage, with 10 x 1 damage in coming. So you will get healed like this: 100 damage, 25 HoT -> 1 damage, 25 HoT ...x10 -> normal ticks. So we can see you only get hit by 110 damage, but u are healed 275+ hp... Same as DoT, the more hit you do, the higher the ticks are and it is triggered everytime u hit.
  8. The description of Flagellant's path now says that the full attack only effects the target, so I've been assuming it's no longer a powerful AoE... or is this wrong? @OP It's to bad there's no transforming armors to simulate your magical girl build, lol. It always hit everybody on the path just like old charge.
  9. @Ascaloth I tried this build, but I used Fighter instead of Druid, then I use Deltro's Cage Helm instead, my jaw dropped when I see how good Deltro's Cage Helm + Lord Darryn's Voulge + Flagellant's Path combines together... Static Charge now seems to not only hurt enemy but also allies, so it charges your Deltro's Cage with extra elec lash. And I'm not so sure how Static Charge works because when I use Flagellant's Path or Clear Out, everybody just explodes includes me... Then I found out I get 300%+ elec lash bonus from Deltro's Cage, so every stack of Static Charge does over 100+ elec damage to everybody in the area....
  10. A lot enemy has no engagement slot in the game now, even they have, there is a bug where disengagement attack is not triggered. Thus immune to engagement is almost useless.
  11. If the dev has temetrie on what spells are picked by players, I bet noone will pick confusion spells... I think they shall change the name 'Confused' to something else, and add another tier 2 INT affliction Confused, which bring back the PoE 1 version of it. Same as Petrified, they shall change it to a tier 4 affliction instead of making it same as Paralyzed.
  12. Would you say the same thing if something is underpowered? OP and UP are relative, instead of ignoring these things that are too good and too bad, people in this thread is making solid recommendation to make the game better.
  13. It’s just for some classes, there are some obvious choice that is much better than other ones. For example, wizard lvl 1 spells, chill fog >> sunless touch, cipher lvl 1 spell whisper >> rest, rogue gambit >> rest strikes. Ciphers are not weak if u spam these very powerful mind-control spells, but it’s very boring, and turn them into one trick pony.
  14. But the thing is we cannot ignore full attacks, almost every melee class has enough spammable full attack abilities. And don’t forget the double passive bonus u can get from dual wielding. @maxQuest if the soulbind dagger is bind with rogue, it also grant u +2 Pen for both weapon, for around 25 sec. so I’m confused if the harponing is intended or not. Also Modwyr seems to be bugged because the lash applies to both weapon u wield....
  15. It is not documented BUT PL is a separate multiplier when calculating final damage. It increase your basic damage roll instead of added like other damage bonus like Might bonus and sneak attack bonus. Therefore PL is extremely powerful if your base damage is high, for example the late level wizard spells that has around 80-100 base damage. A best explanation is Monk's ult Inner Death, if you wonder why it can do over 2000 damage pre 1.1, because PL, Critical damage bonus, Lash bonus are all separate multipliers that make the final number really high.
  16. Actually AC in D&D increases the equivalent of deflection, it doesn't reduce it per se. There is no DR from (normal) armor. This I find a bit meh because it's obviously easier to hit somebody who's wearing armor. It's just not so easy to hurt them. But a crit-to-hit conversion or a hit-to-graze conversion is ok. Your ability to connect with the enemy will not suffer (actually it will be even easier if deflection gets reduced) - but the quality of your hits will suffer if you glance off of armor. That's partially true, if you are very good at builds in D&D 3.5, you will know the best AC builds are without armors, because armors has limitation on how much DEX bonus you can get, the heavier the armor is, the less DEX AC bonus you get. So a Monk/Wizard can get much higher AC with spells and WIS ac bonus than heavy armor fighters. My understanding to D&D AC system is armor will cover the softest and weakest spot on your body, thus someone with plate armor is hard to hit because hits are deflected if they graze on the armor. I know this explanation is flawed because it cannot explain why the hell light armor like leather armor has AC bonus, but you get what I mean :)
  17. And don't forget dual wielding means you get two weapons' passive bonus, for example there's a spear that gives u +Penetration based on your survival skill, I'm able to get +5 Pen for each hand with 20+ survival. Also Magran's flavor + Sun&Moon gives u +4 PL for fire keyword, while the elemental quarterstaff is nerfed very hard this patch... Only +1 PL for each 4 elements. So it's 4 vs 1 PL on fire spells, or 2 vs 1 on ice spells. Shield imo is good enough because in DF all gear bonus stacks so with right build you can stack super high deflection with correct shield, a Arcane Knight can get 230+ deflection with large shield.
  18. Monk is still the strongest melee class even after nerf, Best single target dps: Swift Flurry + Heartdrumming, Best aoe dps: Flagellant's Path since charge is nerfed, Best aoe CC among meleer: torment raise.
  19. Yeah but unless enemy is totally immune to fire, +PL gives more Penetrations, +4 PL is a lot because other gears that +PL is nerfed to mostly +1.
  20. Magran's flavor + Sun and Moon is still very OP combo for fire attacks, they gives +4 PL for one of the most common damage type.
