PoE - Sales figures STEAM
Bryy replied to BillyCorgan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I will never understand why people think people that play on consoles are a "different type" of person. It's just another platform to play games. The games catering to consoles are aimed at a different audience. They're usually more action based and they offer limited options due to controller restrictions. There are only so many buttons you can push and that in itself puts restrictions on the UI, customization and gameplay in general. So yes, in general it is a different audience with different expectations. I refuse to believe you've never played a console game. -

Party gender preference?

Just because you think you made sense doesn't mean you did. Stop treating everyone else like idiots just because they disagree with you. You say you're fine with other people playing how they want, but then you say crap like this and how they are "indoctrinated" for having female party members. I was willing to let it go, but you keep jabbing at other people for either "playing wrong" or "not reading". My initial comment was about your views on women, but you are the one that keeps bringing up how others are brainwashed for having female party members. -

Someone .gif that ****ing Mad Max face. Please. I might pay real money. -
That's why I said "on their forums". EDIT: I see it now.
-
I wish more devs would be pro-active about this type of **** on their own forums...

It's within context of the game, so I wouldn't exactly call spamming Witcher Sense "idiot vision".

Nah, man, it's all about the Mad Max face he makes when talking about trailer wank. -
I prefer GOG and Galaxy, but Origin has been getting more games, plus its stance on the cut from KS-made games and it gives me airline miles makes it the clear choice for me at this current moment if the game is offered on any of the three big distribution platforms.

No need for me to save face. My opinion hasn't changed. I resent the turning to console Larian is doing and I resent games being consolized for the reasons I mentioned. If you have no problem with action based hack and slash with limited options, you're entitled to your opinion just the same as I am to mine. I'm perfectly aware that Larian is handing out the so called enhanced version for free, if you already own the game. That proves that at least there are still decent human beings at work. But it doesn't change my opinion that they are taking the first exit to mainstream once their kickstarter was successful. "Mainstream". *rolls eyes* -
Kotaku article on the sex scenes which is - gasp - written by a woman. So of course the comments are full of people calling her a prude.

Party gender preference?
Bryy replied to Nexus0's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think Orlans are a bad species to make your point, since it's been confirmed that their gender dimorphism is clearly in favor of the women. Prejudice trumps context. And before I'm accused of generalizing Tennis' position, he threw that defense out the window the minute he went "girls as warriors? NO WAY. Girl as romance? YES". -
Party gender preference?
Bryy replied to Nexus0's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
*rolls eyes* No, I understood you, the number is still irrelevant. But thanks for assuming I'm just stupid. The point is that woman are in the military at all. You attributing real world blueprints such as HOW MANY WOMEN ARE IN THE MILITARY and WEIGHT to a fantasy game is just... why? If you're constantly on the look out for "inconsistency" or whatnot, how are you possibly going to have any fun? Does it really matter to you that much that there are female wizards in a fantasy game? Does it matter to you that much that other people are playing female PMs that you have to come into a forum thread and state that you think it is unnatural (well, I mean, unnatural except if they are love interests, according to you)? -

Romance Packs DLC
Bryy replied to GadgetSun's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
This is completely untrue. There's no one way to write a story. And Romeo & Juliet is a tragedy, not a romance. Same way Merchant of Venice is a tragedy and not a comedy. -

In what world do you live on where having the option to make your characters female is considered "politically correct"? FYI: women play video games. You do know that women serve in the military, right?Did you know that they are outnumbered more than 100-1 in armed forces across the globe? I see you missed my point completely. The point was there are. Older than you, apparently.
