Wimp Paladins prefer to streak. ^^ Beware Feargussaurus! In nothing but an Obsidian Order symbol painted on your chest... ???? Pretty much. To confuse the Feargussaurus while I save the damsel in distress (see pic). I just see our wimp princess sistergold on the right side of the picture fruitlessly trying to confuse the Feargosaurus while he is in fact fascinated by a simple pterosaur. I suppose that we two glorious wimp kinghts, brother dlux, went home briefly to fetch another pair of long johns since dusk already ushered in.....

This is indeed a complex story.... The wimp knights worship their mighty Marshmallow God by eating little marshmallows all the time. But they need to be aware of the giant marshmallow cube who eats paladins instead as revenge for his little companions. And the wimp knights have to deal with the Feargosaurus who wants all fluffy marshmallows for himself and therefore is the nemesis of the Order of the Wimps. So the wimp knights are about to start a crusade against the Feargosaurus (in summer of course, to avoid the cold and the dark) and many little fluffy mellows will be roasted in the meanwhile....... OMG, there comes the cube....

Live recorded music, Poll 2.0

I think the fewer the instruments involved, the easier it is for the human ear to pick out whatever timbres and nuances set live instrumentation apart. The more that is added to, say, a synth orchestration, the easier it is to overlook whatever "imperfections" in favor of the thematic whole. Ultimately, as long as it matches the setting and amplifies the immersion, it's great. Still want a hurdy-gurdy, though. A music production in which you cannot pick out single instruments or groups of instruments is simply bad (experienced or trained sense of hearing premised). But that can be true for either instrumental or synthetic recordings while the opposite is only possible for instrumental music to a great extend. -
-New Class: Paladin Compromise --- Paladin AND Undead-summoning anti-paladin variant. Hmmm, a Paladin and an "evil necromancer anti-paladin". That gets my seal of approval. ^^ Poor paladins.... Now they possibly make it in the game only to be chased by evil necromancer anti-paladins and unstoppable giant marshmallow cubes. Really, at the edge of extinction, they are!

Live recorded music, Poll 2.0

I resent the implication that I am not a person who really love good music ! Ever suffered to hear one of your favourite music being used as background for a commercial, its whole texture work having been cleaned up to make it more palatable to general audiences ? It's heart wrenching ! T_T You simply cannot if you prefer synthetic music to instrumental music! That's a question of true faith! And yes, I know what you are talking about with these commercials.... I think many people even don't hear differences between instrumental and synthetic music because they are not as interested in music at all or because their hifi equipment is not good enough to evolve the differences. That's especially a problem (or the solution if you have a restricted budget anyhow....) for PCs and Laptops because most of them suffer from serious distortions and bad sound hardware in general.... -
Live recorded music, Poll 2.0

I'd say that's a matter of personal investment in the means of delivering sound rather than any intrinsic qualities in them though. We tend to create emotional attachment to some sounds/instruments, and find them better because of it. If anything, I tend to prefer (well crafted) artificial/sampled sounds, that do not try to parrot live renditions, because they allow for the delivery of more interesting textures than live instruments - which I tend to find flat and remote even at their best. Again, it's just a matter of personal history. You can't tell that to a person who really loves good music. It's a sacrilege...... I can say that we won't use elements that don't seem appropriate to the genre. There are all sorts of synth sounds, some sound very electronic and sci-fi, others sound very organic. I can tell you that if we do use synths, it won't sound this obvious: http://m.youtube.com...h?v=bugi35v1CKk Too cheesy for my tastes! I cannot open the linked videos, Justin! When i click on the videos there only opens an rtsp stream (probably to your own PC.....) I've edited my post above, I don't know if you have seen that yet. I'm looking forward to your answer! -

@ Justin Please avoid synthetic music as far as possible, Justin! Any avid listener can hear the difference between real, instrumental music and synthetic music, and it is indeed a great difference, you as an expert must know that more than most others! Synthetic music will ever sounds cheaper, more artificial and less emotional than instrumental music, even if it's done well. It might fit to a cold futuristic Sci-Fi setting but not to a fantasy world with medieval background. So please, Justin, if you were allowed to make the soundtrack( what I would really appreciate), only use synthetic music if your budget allows no other option. I hope you'll find some free minutes to watch the interview with Kai Rosenkranz, made several years ago during the release time of Gothic 3, since I would really like to hear how you treat the approach to compose video games music and in which points you are in agreements with Kai and in which not. I think the world of video game development haven't changed that much since when it comes to soundtrack composing, especially for an old-school approach like with PE, so most of his viewpoints are still valid today, don't you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ci0rUWd6w2A -

BG 2 If I want to explore unimportant or boring places I can play Skyrim. BG 1 style would be nice if every area could be filled with really immersive stuff but that's hardly possible with the budget. So I will prefer a BG 2 like approach with less but more condensed and sophisticated areas.

Hail to thee! Be welcome among all of us who would never ride to battle without at least a pair of extra warm socks, spare underwear and a hand-knitted scarf, milady! May you fulfil all your oaths to our holy mother church of wimpishness by dedication to our cause: extra heating in the winter and cool beverages and sun protection in the summer! May the gods have mercy upon our enemies, because the wimp knights won't!

If this is the comment you are referring to: I don't realy see where "he stated that they haven't chosen a distributor in Russia and Poland yet". "if we were to work with them. Not saying that we are working with them" That's no confirmation for me but who knows....
