  1. A jetblack day: Disney announced the takeover of Lucas Arts and Rockstar denied a PC version of GTA 5.... Btw: Fallout: NV is part of the Steam Halloween Sale so if you don't have it yet....
  2. How about making a shield for the order, clammo.....*whistle*..... @ SGR @ Silver BG 2 would be really cool for multiplayer but I don't know if we can arrange that timewise.
  3. Send a PM to Farudan, he might overlooked your post.
  4. Small update for the OOoE shields Atm I gathered another 50 shield requests here and in the forum on the order page. I wanted to make most of them at the weekend but I was mostly occupied with work and family so most of them are still in the pipeline. I hope I can finish them until the next weekend so please stay patient. I haven't forgotten you!
  5. Yes to the existence of sex and nudity in PE! No chance for typcial Amercian prudity....*searching for cover*.....
  6. The system you describe is nearly exactly the one I presented (Inquisitor). There is a quest log and a notes log (which is a chronological recording of the experiences of the player). Both consist of small text passages and not just only half sentences about what to do next.
  7. That's just stupid. What if I wanted to reread what was written about quests? This is worse handholding than what you are against! Also seems that 'quest' screenshot is really empty. I don't suspect to be on so little quests at the same time in PE, so that wouldn't work then... I still am under the presumption that that UI looks absolutely horrible... :/ The journal has more than two pages, you can turn pages.... For completed quests I would prefer if they stay in the journal but marked as completed with a check mark or with text being crossed out. And for the UI, that's a question of taste. But it fits really well to the game imo, I don't know if you have played it.
  8. This is the style of the journal in Inquisitor. There are three different tabs for questnotes, general notes and proofs (the last section is related to the keydetective element of the game). Completed quest notes are deleted from the the journal while general notes and proofs are kept during the whole game. I love this style, it looks like a "real" diary in which the main character has written his thoughts with differentiation between tasks and general notes but without "artificial" systems like sort, help, search or even clearly noted step-for-step approaches for single quests. Yes, it's some kind of "hardcore" but it's perfect for total immersion. And for sure, the look of the UI and the journal and the fit to the art of the game supports this immersion aspect. (And a warning for everybody who plans to play Inquisitor in the future: the picture may contain minor and major spoilers so be aware....)
  9. I don't have problems with hard games as long as they stay fair and the game design isn't frustrating in core mechanics. With XCOM there is the big problem, that the cover system just doesn't work properly and so characters are hit which actually should be quite well covered. I haven't played the EU version but in my imported US version I can freely save my game on normal difficulty without override after someone in my team dies. Any other option should be only effective in an optional hard modus. I think in PE such unfair gameplay mechanics will be avoided since OE already confirmed various hard modus. And I still hope that you will be able to turn on and off many single "hard" options individually so you can create you very own difficulty setting.
  10. Well, BG1's journal was hell if you took a break for a week or so, and had to come back and remember what to do. They can definitely impove upon that, without adding quest markers or active quests as you say... but they do need to log them per quest for easy access. Especially useful for those longer quests (the entire stronghold section, eternal dungeon etc.) I think it's not a bad design idea to implement a "real" journal like a diary. It's a choice between immersion and "casualization". A good RPG should be a comparable experience to reading a good book - with the one difference that you can decide about the direction of the story and the results of your actions. But like a book you will (and should!!!) "fall out" of the world if you quit it for a week or a month. The most dense and emotional experience can only be reached when you follow the whole thing in a relatively close timeframe. And if you are forced to quit the game for a longer time you should also be forced (by the game) to work you in again.
  11. I think the only not votable option would be very cool: a combination between 1 and 3. Armour shall provide two benefits: there should be the chance that the armour protects the wearer from any damage (but depends on the combat system working in the background) and there should be the "normal" case that armour reduces a certain percentage of the taken damage.
  12. We're not loony, we're dedicated....
  13. Please no - active/inactive quests - quest markers - clearly defined steps of quests in journal Where's your imagination, guys? Where's your sense of challenge? Where's your sense of realism/authenticity? Where's your sense of immersion? This should be an "old-school" game imo without casualized quest journals for people who don't want to follow the dialogues or read the journal properly.....
  14. I think it's ok but you have to wait until Farudan confirms it. I will change your shield to the new title anyway...
  15. Inquisitor style (refering to the RPG Inquisitor) would be cool which is really some kind of hardcore, but realistic. The journal is like a "real written journal" containing what the character notices and remembers from dialogues, like a diary. Quests and tasks are characterized but not with goals or single tasks but in the same way as the journal - as written text like a diary. You have to read the journal carefully and even read the dialogues properly because you will possibly miss some hints which are not written in the journal or are often hard to understand without knowledge about the people in the world, the places or the different factions. This system is refreshingly realistic and gives many quests some real challenge because the journal/quest system doesn't really spell the next step in each quest out for the player and players have to think on their own. And of course there are no quest markers.
  16. No. I already returned requests. I like your unweavering attitude, brother!
  17. 27 new shields have been added to the members section of http://www.obsidianorderofeternity.net I hope everybody who sent me a PM is happy with his/her shield, I tried to stick closely to your proposals if it was possible. If your are not satisfied with you shield, please contact me again and we will think about another design, no problem. I want everybody to be happy with his/her OOoE shield! And I hope more members will still send me their shield propsoals since we certainly need more shields to represent the order properly. We should have at least 100 shields I think and we have only about half of that now...... LC, did you happen to find my request? I pm'd you on here, not sure if you wanted that sent on there or here... I'm sorry, Gensou. I've made your shield already a few hours ago but forgot to write it into the code of the site. But now it's there. http://www.obsidianorderofeternity.net/pages/members_2.php
  18. Yeah, in fact Fenrir, Farudan and myself were busy with the official site (and still are).... I LOVE IT!!! I may consider changing the colouring of the silhouette a bit, but it's awesome regardless. THANKS! Sure, tell me what color or other thinkgs you have in mind and I will change the shield. Hehe, I see you have a new signature picture..... Thanks for your large donation! Feel free to visit our new OOoE website. The thing about titles and shields is explained there (if you are already a member of the OOoE). If you aren't a member of the OOoE yet please read the first post of this thread and ask Farudan if there are any open quesitions left.

  20. Your mailbox is full Tried sending this: 1) Jumble Murdersense, Apprentice Candle Dribbler 2) http://i.imgur.com/I60Tt.png What's the new OOoE site for specifically? Sorry, weren't aware of that. Now my mailbox is free again. But I got your data, thanks. The new site is basically just a fansite dedicated to the OOoE and PE. It could be everything we want it to be. Atm it includes a chatroom, a forum, a newsfeed and a gallery.
  21. You can stick to your logo of course. The shield would be only for the members page on www.obsidianorderofeternity.net (and of course for every other purpose you want to use it after)
  22. Dear members of the Obsidian Order! I would like to add you all to the members section of our www.obsidianorderofeternity.net website but for that everyone needs an own shield. You can see the design of the shield right in this post (it's Farudan's shield) or some more examples in the members section. Please send me a message in the forum here on Obsidian or in the forum on the OOoE site with the two following points included: 1) Your order title and your nickname (if it's not the same one you use in the forum) 2) A proposal for your logo in the middle of the ouroboros. Just describe it to me or send me a link with a picture, as you like . I'm looking forward to your messages and hope our members section will grow soon. We have more than 650 members atm in the order but only 20 shields yet.... LordCrash, Grand Master of the OOoE
