Making head gear invisible causes hair to disappear
TT1 posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
On the inventory screen, when I click the button to make the head gear invisible, the hair disappears. Steps: 1) Open inventory screen 2) Equip head gear 3) Click the "eye" icon on top of the head gear Note: I used the "GivePlayerMoney 50000" command to test with more equipment and all head gear causes the same problem. Oh, about the UI: "Noise"... How should I know what that means? All weapons are set as silent. And how can I understand what I need to do if there is no indication of where I should click? I can not even read what's written.

So I installed PoE2 last night and played for about 30 minutes, just to take a look at creating characters. I found the entire creation process EXTREMELY overwhelming, for several reasons. Seriously, I really got confused and had several doubts about what I was actually doing. That sucks for a lot of reasons. And if I was a newbie, I would have given up the game right there. Some points: 1) I do not know if the new NVIDIA driver has tampered with the "optimal settings", but I found all the fonts very small. 2) It took me a few seconds to understand the flow of character creation. The buttons are the same color as the panel and everything is kinda hidden. Several of the new skills made no sense to me and I was a bit shocked to discover that "mechanics" now help discover traps, not just perception (maybe the description of the skill is wrong?). 3) I have the impression that I gave "next" without choosing any skill and the game simply went ahead, without letting me choose a skill later. I'll try to play it tonight. The game could be clearer, but I believe they will sort this out until the release, since PoE and Tyranny do not have this problem.

St. Wygelt's Club (Persecuting?)
TT1 replied to Teucer's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hey guys, I´m playing right now and this bug is not fixed. Still there is no description abou "Persecuting". There is no link on St. Wygelt's Club description. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/82597369671006683/C4FFF21F6CCD6D2BBB0C586641BC1FF3B99C1C83/ -
Although he got lost in the plot and has really bad ideas, I agree with him on some points. In my specific situation, I have around 12 to 15 hours a week to play on the pc. I work all day, I need to do exercises in the gym and coming home I need to give attention to my wife. I need to use every minute alone at home to be able to finish a game. So I have a few hours a week and I have to use the whole Saturday night and Sunday to play, when my wife is already asleep and I do not need to work the next day. So having a stretch goal like New Game +, for me is the worst and zero fun, because I probably will not use EVER. I also agree with him regarding the issue of Underdark vs. Underwater City, in BG2. Offering a choice that is "perfect" and not giving anything in return on the other choice is at least a flaw in narrative.

Survey for the future

I just want a vampire dark ages setting. And something from Sanderson books. -
So ... after the release of the two parts of "TWM", there is something else planned for Pillars of Eternity? There will be new expansions, additions to the game ... or this is it?

I find intriguing those who defend the stronghold is optional for the fact that it is so bad that you can just avoid it altogether. It truly is optional, as all companions are also, but they all influence the endgame, right? In fact, we do not know if these options will be exported to your savegame to a sequel. So... optional but not so much. -

The problem with the stronghold, besides the fact it was designed by a blind monkey and look like an abandoned factory on the outskirts of São Paulo, is that it serves no purpose besides bonuses to sleep. As the crafting system is not implemented, you can not use it as in Oblivion, to improve skills, build weapons and equipment. There are no are quests associated with it. The fact that you are the owner of a HUGE amount of land is completely ignored. In fact, the player controls the ONLY ACCESS to the right side of the map. However, nothing seems to happen. There is no living soul on its territory, no peasant, soldiers, roads, security ... nothing. Absolutely nothing. The fact that the player home have been placed next to the stronghold is simple and pure laziness of designers. Probably there was not much money available and someone just suggested putting the house there, since it was also a promise in the kickstarter campaign. And again, like crafting was not implemented, there's no point rebuilding brighthollow heart, lab or forge. There is a thread in TTON forum called "What can be improved from Pillars of Eternity" and there are many sincere and real criticism there. This guy here made some excellent points: https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?p=150814#p150814 It would have been much more organic simply delete Caed Nua and put Raedric Hold as the stronghold. Just put the Endless Path under the Raedric Hold and everyone would have been happy. -

Sorry to hear that. If you'll take care to avoid the screen door closing too fast and hitting your backside on the way out, that'd be great, thank you, it was just painted. Oh, man I'm sorry. I did not know I had to send my opinion to some fanboy before posting. -

I find his logic flawed. Like he says himself, once the Kickstarter was done, going back on the Stronghold was never an option. So between creating a token Stronghold that barely appeals, has poor support, broken mechanics, and is badly integrated into the rest of the game, and creating a worthwhile stronghold that is a given, special part of the game that is fleshed out and feels like it belongs, why would someone opt for the former, rather than the latter? Always existed the option of not making the stronghold. He could just do an update and say "ok, we will not make the stronghold. We think it will be crap and we do not have resources to do it the way it should be", and then deal with it. After all, it is a kickstarter and that involves risks. But he preferred to do a completely useless stronghold, frustrating players and remaining deaf to requests for enhancement (and there were many). It is necessary to invest a lot of money to make the stronghold work? That's not my problem. Obsidian made a lot of money with PoE. Just make it work or else stop to justify and minimize the problem. The stronghold of the way it is today is completely stupid. I can't disagree. Ultimately, people would've been disappointed in the Stronghold being cut, but they would've gotten over it, and the game could've been better. It is like the old saying that a delayed game will eventually be good, but a bad game is bad forever. In this case, having a bad stronghold actually detracts from the game a whole lot more than no stronghold at all would've done. It wouldn't have been the first Kickstarter that goes "Well, guys, X isn't going to work because of Y. We want to do ABC, and because of This and That, we feel we can't do it justice. S**t happens and we hope that this wasn't a make-or-break feature you were wanting, in the end. Something's gotta give." But Sawyer is excellent at disregarding or minimizing problems. If he doesn't disregard criticism, he deflects or deliberately misunderstands the questions or the critique. At the end of the day, I'm sure he has qualities, but that attitude and personality isn't exactly what you want in a Lead.. anything, really. This is also why I've given up on seeing meaningful revisions of pre-existing content or core mechanics. If there's something that could use revision, it's the Stronghold, but nope, it's fine as it is and that's how it is. Apparently. Many things were kept in the game in a completely useless way and should have been cut. The stronghold is just one of them. Crafting is horrendous and it was still completely changed the original idea, even though it was presented to players in an update (http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64048-update-58-crafting-with-tim-cain/) of a much better way than in the final game. The decision to keep crafting in a different way from the one for me, as the project backer, strikes me, at least, disrespectful. So it's always an option to cut or hand other than the combined form. They could have done this to the stronghold, but decided to deliver it anyway. So it is very clear what was the modus operandi of this project. -

The stronghold of the way it is today is completely stupid. It makes me really angry the fact that he spend hours in other forums dealing with and answering questions about the game, while we spent days, weeks ... without any answer or clue as to what's going on. I think that's enough for me. I'm done with Obsidian. -

When the guys making the card game revealed the Zahua and Devil of Caroc cards as part of the White March booster stretch goal, they also mentioned a third NPC they couldn't reveal yet. Because only two new NPCs have been revealed for part I of the expansion, the general assumption is that one more companion will be added in part II. Nothing is known about this third companion, however: not the sex, not the class, not anything. Yes, that is true, but we can assume that its pretty obvious the new companion will be a barbarian. It is a safe bet. -
