  1. I agree the shading is rather strange on the female version of the armor and does make it look like it curves in slightly at the center. We will have to wait for the beta to judge for ourselves!
  2. I assume Josh was busy talking about the game and forgot to heal Brandon or something? Nope, it is a single player game. Josh wasn't playing it at all. He just let the situation get out of hand quickly. The poison honestly seemed massively OP, it took the mage down literally in 2-3 seconds.
  3. The wood beetle poisoned him and he failed to get aggro with his fighter (wearing much better looking gear) so he got ganged up on by two poison spewing wood beetles.
  4. I agree those pictures are more feminine looking, but even still the one in the middle without the head on it could easily be taken for a guy too. There are also two other considerations here. First the armor they are wearing in the beta walkthrough is the crappiest looking/lowest quality plate out there I imagine, but the pic shows off pretty nice looking plate armor. Second.... that is concept art... concept art never 100% matches the game. Edit: I will toss out one other thing. I came into the stream late and missed the initial character creation. But I could, in fact, tell that the fire godlike was female at pretty much a glance and my stream was even initially running low quality.
  5. Well Sensuki the forums really did beg for realistic armor over, and over, and over, and over, and over...... A woman in realistic plate armor isn't going to be showing a lot of boob .
  6. I am assuming (dangerous I know) that the main quest contains enemies more deadly than two stone beetles and one wood beetle. As far as Sensuki said... uh no, totally disagree. The colors are bad, but they are the same colors Baldur's Gate used. That same ugly "green green" was there, there was a crazy bright red, a puke yellow, the bright blue was terrible, etc etc. It is just those models were so small and the colors were so barely used you couldn't tell unless you really looked. On the aside in the defense of the solo player there are things we can't factor in. Like... 1: Was Adam just ragged out from the whole timezone thing and simply playing badly? 2: Did he take the time to properly level everyone and do skills to be effective or just to be "done for the stream"? 3: Is this even the final setting for the game or is it just this hard for the beta? 4: Did all those characters have purely starter gear? It looked like the main character did.
  7. Yeah that is what I was thinking. "If this is easy against a bunch of mook beatles you can kiss a solo playthrough goodbye."
  8. Beetles just owned the crap out them.... I bet Adam's guitar is weeping... and not gently.
  9. Haha, and I can relate to that, but not the races part. I only play humans or very human-esque (elves, for example), and keep every attribute as similar to my perception of myself, so I immerse 'myself' within the world. I feel a lot closer to it then, rather than playing as a glowing blue fairy with the ability to breath fire whenever I cough, . I hunt, so I tend to use ranged classes, but I'm an idealist, philosopher and pursuer of the guise of knowledge, so being a Bard works sometimes too. Depends how many of my attributes I can squeeze into one character's play-through. Personally I stick to (D&D wise) Fighters, Paladins, Rangers (mostly the melee kind), and Rogues. I like the nitty gritty playstyle and being hands on. To get hit and hit back harder, struggle all the way. It should come as no surprise I love the anime Berserk .
  10. Very significant point right there. That many man hours can make a huge difference to a final product.
  11. Stop talking about your metal D20 before you make me go buy a set of those dwarf dice!!!
  12. Yeah pretty much. There may be some light graphical tweaks before release but that's all they will be, tweaks.
  13. Very true. I am using a mere single 670 GTX and can play almost everything on max settings and still score 30-50 FPS. To give you an idea of how epic it is.... you can buy the newer and better version (770 GTX) for around 300. Mine they don't even make anymore .
  14. Doesn't bother me. Many of the "natural" voices have this probably of also being instantly recognizable and unlike most people I don't want to realize the same guy voicing my narrator is also the guy who voices the drunken dwarf #5 in that bar in Dragon Age 4, and the "close friend" of that weirdly dressed wizard in the Witcher 7.
  15. There will be a pretty strong variety. From the tiny amount of released data already we have seen feral wolves, ogres, random glanfathans, wyvern like things, spiders, werewolf looking creatures, things that look like ettercaps, and I have the sneaking suspicion there will be a mushroom man hiding in there somewhere. The fact that certain levels of the game ships with a "Monsters Manual" is pretty telling.
  16. Despite all my jokes about playing a Big Head Mode Godlike I will more than likely play a boring ass Human. I am sort of an anti fantasy player that likes fantasy. My favorite type of character to play as is the gritty in the trenches dude who fights up close in melee and perseveres through skill, luck, and daring.... not my standing 20 feet off and throwing a lightning bolt or going "lol plot armor you cant damage me through my magic protections".
  17. Dude the built in graphics on an i5 or i7 processor are probably stronger than that Radeon.
  18. I'm not sure where 3 million euro + 1 million dollar turned into 5 million euro. I think you got your conversation rate switched around there... I am sure. It is called fat finger typing and a forum that only lets you mod posts for like 5 minutes after creation or something ;p.
  19. Exactly. That is popular rumor, folk belief, and/orconjecture but there is no evidence the Godlike are anything other than people with weird looks due to some strange aberration in their soul that has nothing to do with the gods at all.
  20. They ended somewhere between 4.5 mil and 5 mil from all available evidence. Nah, that is just how Larian does it. Their games always have a sort of "fairy tale" graphical vibe going on over top of them. I am happy Eternity is going with a more serious look though.... well you know... assuming you don't turn Big Head Mode on.
  21. Considering how the stats work in this game I am not sure that is actually a good idea. This is the one game where dumping a stat might actually tank your character. Imagine a 1 int barb?
  22. Uhm no. Per the head of Larian themselves Divinity: Original Sin had a budget of around 5 million euro's which is more than 6 million US dollars. Obsidian had a budget of about 4.5 million USD. So Larian had at least a million more to play with, combined with the fact that they had their own in house engine to use which saved tons of time and resources which equates directly to money saved for other parts of the game. Wasteland 2's graphics looking good is a matter of opinion so there is nothing wrong disagreeing with me. That said I think the UI is painfully bad, the environment art is okay, but the character models are flat awful and look straight out of year 2002.
  23. If you do, and you're looking for ideas about some things to make, i'd be generally interested in character creation, feats/traits, level-ups, and the "advanced statistics" page. What is the youtube channel? Normally I don't give my youtube channel cause it feels oddly self serving but.... https://www.youtube.com/user/ElderMasana I am definitely going to get very mechanics crazy in some of the videos, I will likely start off with a Cipher since that is what I am most looking forward to seeing class wise.
