  1. Jobobobo makes a great point. Many people might want the seeds just so they can have sex with whoever they want (even the same race dun dun dun!!!) without having to worry about Waidwen's legacy. Meanwhile I am pretty sure there is no Waidwen's Legacy in the real world and plenty of people (even non prostitutes.... shameful!!!) still want birth control so they can just have sex whenever for fun. Also yeah.... as a human I could see maybe digging an elf. But I can't see myself ever wanting to get it on with an Orlan, Aumaua, or Dwarf. So I can kinda see Orlans maybe being attracted to fellow Orlans more than Humans?
  2. I said "some take on..." Not "he is a god and people pray to him and sacrifice live chickens in his honor". Also I don't recall reading a religious text suggesting the Buddhist version of Satan tried to tempt Lincoln on a path to damnation and fail his fellow man. Buddha is considered to be a crap ton more than a "great teacher". Even "great" humans cant achieve perfection, according to Buddhist text Buddha achieved it.
  3. I think Skaen's thing simply requires that you complete the Blood Legacy quest but in the resolution you must either ... A: Side with the Skaenites... B: Kill lord whats his face in the end even if you don't side with the Skaenites. Wael's offer requires you do the quest involving the stolen scroll and when Wael tells you to hide it somewhere you honor his request and do as he asks. Everything else posted about making it happen in this thread is probably pure malarkey.
  4. So I guess you have never studied real religion? Ever hear of this guy called Buddha? I am pretty sure there are a lot of people out there who would consider him some take on the word "god" and his faith makes it painfully clear he was originally just a man. Your definition of "God" is far too strict. An ant likely looks at a man and might equate them with being a god on some limited intelligence way. We live thousands of their lifetimes, can kill them with literally no effort. cause flood their homes with seemingly divine power. In reality we are just biologically different and know how to get water out of a sink. But does that change the perception of the ant? No it doesn't. That's why I said it wasn't even a question about gods to begin with, but a question of belief.
  5. I think you are missing part of the point. The question isn't "how do you go on living if the gods aren't real?" so much as it is "is belief in an ideal more important than whether or not the ideal is true?" Eder is a great companion in this sense because his faith in what Eothas represents is never shaken, not even for a second. When when he realizes his "god" might actually be dead and may never have been a god at all he still states that it doesn't matter. What Eothas stood for and represented was worth believing in even if Eothas himself was a fake. In many ways I think Eder is a cipher (lol) for the main character and that it is no coincidence that he is the first companion you meet. His journey is the same as yours. He has a question tearing him up inside and he needs to find out the truth. Upon learning the truth though he realizes that in reality the truth might not have actually mattered and he would never find any answers looking outside himself. He had to look to his own beliefs, values, and choices to find his meaning and if his beliefs told him following the ideals of Eothas was right then it didn't matter if Eothas was "fake". It is also important to note that the "gods" are VERY real in Eora. They just aren't classical all knowing and or existing since the beginning of time "gods".
  6. Yeah if you get far enough in the quest the Dwarf smith makes it clear to you that he doesn't like the plan, like at all. He only goes along with it cause of orders. Later on some of the golems malfunction and you have to take them out. At that point the faction leader is like well maybe my dwarf buddy is right, this clearly isn't playing out as planned and is looking like a dumber idea by the second. Then he essentially straight up says "Well what do you think?", and you get a chance to talk them out of it. Or you can also say the medieval version of "to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs."
  7. A large portion of them also don't like the fact that they are doing it and are very vocal that they are only doing it because of orders from higher up. You can also convince them long term this is a bad idea and they will abandon the practice. Meanwhile the Dozens want the plans to make the golems too and are happy to brutally torture a woman to get them and try to murder you as well and seem to have no issue with the source of the souls either. So yeah, Dozens = xenophobic **** who will put their morals on hold when it suits them and are happy to be extreme racists/bigots. Crucible = elitist snobby dudes who make mistakes but are at least willing to admit when they screw up. It is not a tough call if you ask me.
  8. They sacrifice people by trapping their soul in their blood, then grind their blood up into face paint and rub it all over themselves. You don't find that mildly troubling? Did I mention that people killed in this way are also permanently dead and taken out of the reincarnation cycle? Not true, they're reincarnated as magic ointment. You have a good point. Maybe that Olay facial cream was someones descendant? As for Keneth, dude dismount your high horse, I am very well aware of what a psychopath is and if you think a person who chooses to extend their own life by ritualistically killing people after convincing them it is for the "greater good" could potentially be an attractive lifestyle to one you are off your rocker. Meanwhile don't take every word someone says on the internet seriously and try to relax. We are talking about a video game.
  9. You say that like the other thread was necessary in the first place? If it wasn't a RPG codex review it wouldn't have gotten it's own thread and that is sort of dumb on many levels.
  10. Actually I could kind of see Grace Jones. Pallegina is definitely the type of character she would have played in movies too. Slightly crazy, headstrong, loves to fight.
  11. Crucible knights got the best merchant . No seriously I would rather side with them. Doemenal's are a bunch of murdering thieves and con artists. Basically fantasy mafia. The Dozens are nothing but a group of organized thugs and rioters who also happen to be fairly bigoted if not racist. I will stick with the Crucible Knights, thanks. They may be a bunch of classists but at least they don't think over throwing the government or shanking a guy in an alley and robbing him are cool things to do.
  12. I think most of that was cut due to time constraints in the end. But yeah none of that came up. On the aside Durance knows the others are dead, he just doesn't believe it was because Magran intended them to die he thought it was an accident.
  13. I don't know Luckman I talked to Kolsc first before getting there too but in all honesty I was already in route and I felt pretty so so about Kolsc the whole time. At first I thought he was just a rabble rouser and on meeting him I thought he was a bit of a power grabber/fairly questionable. So no Kolsc really didn't send me. The fact that I killed both of them should tell you what I thought of the ruler candidates .
  14. They sacrifice people by trapping their soul in their blood, then grind their blood up into face paint and rub it all over themselves. You don't find that mildly troubling? Did I mention that people killed in this way are also permanently dead and taken out of the reincarnation cycle?
  15. He just asks you to kill Kolsc on his behalf.
  16. Uh the people of Eora don't think the Gods are just "really powerful beings". They think they are omniscient all powerful gods who have existed since the dawn of time. People think Berath is in control of the cycle of reincarnation for example yet the game clearly tells you the cycle of reincarnation existed before the first known record of Berath. You need to read the dialog closely, maybe check out some of the lore info on the wiki. I have an advantage because I read the guidebook I guess but trust me.... The average joe schmoe in the Dyrwood doesn't think Magran is just some really powerful lady.
  17. The Ethik Nol are a bunch of psycho's anyway, I had no moral twinges about putting them all to the sword.
  18. You are supposed to visit Maerwald first considering you had to go to Od Nua to get to Defiance Bay in the first place.
  19. You guys love troll bait. Troll review gets 40 pages of comments? Why? There is nothing worth reading or discussing about it.
  20. You say that yet someone on this forum has cleared the game with just a cipher on path of the damned. Trust me, cipher is vastly more powerful than a chanter and starts at full power not 0 power gimme a minute to sing some songs.
  21. Only your main characters stats count for conversation checks. So if your main character does not have 15 resolve it doesn't count. Also I am not sure 15 is the real requirement. As an aside just killing her actually has very little effect on your reputations and the golden grove can still like you just fine.
  22. Kana is a joke of a party member compared to GM. Ciphers are OP as holy hell and trust me when I say mind blades is a chump skill compared to abilities you get at higher level as a Cipher. If you want to keep Kana for lore/story/I like him reasons that's cool do it. If you are simply asking from a metagame who is the most useful stance? Grieving Mother by a long shot.
  23. The fact that they have to act through humans. They gain power from human souls not from something else. The vision with Thaos where the game pretty much says he creates Woedica. Thaos never saying it isn't true only refusing to answer you instead. The fact that Eothas appears to be dead or at least missing and was killed by a bomb made by humans, even if a God told them how to make it. Iovara is also not the only one who implies they aren't real gods, there are the two Pwygra in Twin Elms. If they really were all powerful beings that existed from the beginning of time why do they need human worship? I thought they came first? Why can they not enter the world directly if they supposedly created it? Seriously think about it. There are plenty of hints in game beyond Iovara just "saying it".
  24. You can use the scrolls that give +3 to mechanics and the +mechanic inn bonuses. Helps you to not need going to 11 in mechanics. There are tons of better inn bonuses though ;p.
