One way to do it is to play radically different from your norm. Are you normally a heroic tank with a love of diplomacy? Play a morally dubious mage with a fondness for property damage and high death tolls! there will be some things in the game you will still see when you play the full version but the experience will be massively different.

I've asked a mod to close this thread, it started as something nice and is being twisted into something horrible. In all honesty I feel quite depressed reading some of the comments. If anyone wants in the group message me. -
Obsidian and new IPs
JayDGee replied to GhoulishVisage's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I see eternity being the start of a franchise if it is successful enough. I imagine some of the games attached to this franchise wil go in very different direction. Baldurs Gate and Torment are both technically d&d and infinity games but vastly different in setting and feel -

Obsidian Order Steam Group

I hate that I'm having to type this. I am part of OO proudly there a great group of people some mentally unhinged but lovely nonetheless. I am a part of the project eternity fan community again a great group of people some mentally unhinged but lovely nonetheless. I made a steam group for OO and Project eternity in general. I thought I was doing a nice thing for people. I made separate groups because I honestly seem to be getting along with the OO members more, maybe I have more in common with them, maybe I've just talked to them more or maybe they were the ones that seemed to me at least to be wanting to do more as a community. I feel almost like people want me to apologise for what was genuinely an attempt at community building. I am sorry if I in anyway seemed to be segregating that was never my intent. I am not sorry for wanting to be part of the OO community. Also sorry if this became a bit TL;DR but everyone please join http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ProjectEternity it is there for all -

Sorry I created this group kind of early in the morning. For those who asked for an invite that I haven't sent yet. Sorry. But anyone can join the group and anyone can invite. -
Obsidian Order Steam Group

I created the eternity group in the early hours of morning and announced it at the same time. That's the main reason its numbers aren't up yet. -
The fun bit was when the player later complained that nothing was happening Oh I've had that guy in a game I hate that guy the guy that spends half the time trying to distract players with random bull**** then complaining that the story is going to slow

Players can only be controlled through fear... and surprise. Surprise and fear.... At least those ***** who in my campaign, when confronted with the murder mystery, said "Don't go that way! That's a quest hook, better ignore it." if you don't want to go to the quest why would you play the game?

OK some people here don't like the idea of this group and feel we are being a bit exclusionary. In honesty I found my self at least partially agreeing with their point. So I'm making a Project eternity fan group as well. So everyone can join, This group will be open to anyone. To join all you need to do is go to http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ProjectEternity and join. I'm keeping the Obsidian Order group as well running as well -

I'm happy to have my ass kicked at any game. Don't have Company of Heroes so just imagine someone more eager than they are skilled dying a lot. -

Are you part of the Obsidian Order? -
Seeing as this is where I'm most likely to find OO members I'll post this here I have made a steam Group its membership is set to private but if you give me your steam name I will happily add you http://steamcommunit...OrderofEternity a link you your steam profile would make it easier for me to add you for example http://steamcommunity.com/id/JayDGee

Deviant Master would sum up how I control my players sometimes

it is an answer only you can answer for yourself I'm afraid. How much time do you want to spend on the forums? If you are only wanting updates from oblivion then you don't really ever have to visit, the kickstarter page will highlight updates and email you, twitter and facebook will also keep you updated. If you are interested in community discussion and speculation then visit as often as your free time and curiosity allow.

I am pretty sure were-sharks will be an Easter egg. Other than that I'm not so sure, I can imagine a vampiric creature as a result of necromancy but as an actual race or some mystical sexually transmitted infection chances are slim.

I quite like that idea for the hall of adventurers.

depends entirely on what sort of game you want? do you want the players to have an adventure? do you want them to struggle? do you want them to be afraid of the unknown? what do you want the players to get out of the game? I could give a few quick ideas but I don't want to give a horror scenario if you want an adventure game
