  1. I'm hopeful that with patches and a move to unity 5 more npcs and bustle will be added to the 'cities'. Maybe even minor tasks from npc's. Standout shortcomings for me - lack of people wandering around - lack of animations for these people, i.e no one sitting at the inn, no bards playing music - where were the refugees? They should be sleeping on the streets, sheltering in the catacombs, wherever they could be. - old style cities were very organic (twisting and turning layout) and not laid out in a grid like modern cities.
  2. Defiance Bay seems like a town to me just a little bigger than Trademeet (in terms of screen area) so I would like a proper big city with far more locations on the map. Also do more with the stronghold and give it more life. More companions and banter would be cool also as long as this is all integrated into the original game.
  3. @Wintersong An aliens like game then? Would you like it isometric style (ie infinity engine style) or 3rd person over the shoulder?
  4. Probably a farm labourer who after a hard days work hangs out in the inn all day complaining about a poor season.
  5. I've got to say I'm surprised that post-apocalyptic is not more popular. Considering how many Black Isle regulars are at Obsidian i.e Tim Cain, Chris Avellone and Josh Sawyer with New Vegas. I would really like for them to develop there own Fallout like game given it is unlikely they will get to work on Fallout again.
  6. Interesting results so far. So more pillars is the clear favourite followed by science fiction.
  7. So Pillars has launched and done well - huzzah! Well done Obsidian So anyone else considering what the next kickstarter will be about and when it will occur? My idle speculation is that the unnamed rpg in the works is maybe the next kickstarter, but what is the game about? What genre do you think it will be? My pick is science fiction because there are not enough of them.
  8. What is really needed for games developed as 3d? ~ Easier and quicker development of content. Developers spend so much time on the technology that the game suffers for it; solve that problem and the difference between 2d and 3d games will be mere arithmetic.
  9. Great game guys/gals of Obsidian! I am enjoying playing and finding secret doors and treasure is pretty cool. Would back you again!
  10. - I would like to see the inventory window fullscreen (at least as an option) as I don't like straining my eyes to see things. - I would like crafting to be done with a merchant rather than just anywhere at anytime. Things get too meta otherwise. - If possible I would like the map to be a little brighter at night-time. - The fireball spell is much less useful than the first level fan of flames in terms of damage - huh? To the point where I just won't use it. - Combat flies by too quickly including the log which I've given up on following. Also I would like to be able to center the log down the bottom but I can't. - The stats on stuff are difficult to make sense of at times - i.e Recovery speed -45% - Does this mean I recover 45% less quickly? But then less quickly than what number? Maybe based on class? I dunno *I'm enjoying the game a lot - just some pet peeves.
  11. Here is the source http://www.pcgamer.com/pillars-of-eternity-tabletop-rpg-and-card-game-in-the-works/
  12. Is there any way to make the inventory larger? I'm straining my eyes trying to see the icons. Basically everything is too small and I would like to have the option to make the inventory fullscreen.
  13. There could be a third way... Have a narrator voice the descriptive text so everything fits together with the character voice. Bigger budget required through obviously.
  14. If they had just voice acted the opening line and nothing else it would be an improvement. That acts as a taster and I can read the rest in my head.
  15. Problem: Okay so I was unaware of this and tried to buy all camping supplies from black hammer smithy. The game wouldn't let me buy them so I thought it was bugged and searched for a problem. Suggestion: Have a message pop up that tells people that they are at their maximum number of camping supplies because I had no clue.
  16. @Cymelion I provide a link to a topical interview regarding the gamer-developer divide and you take it as a personal attack? Just trying to promote a little empathy, for interested readers that is.
  17. Who would want to be a game developer aye? I was reading this today and thought it sounded relevant to this thread http://www.nodontdie.com/anonymous/
  18. Time to put the kettle on and make a cup of tea. I'm sure it will take an eternity but I can wait...
  19. Right from character creation you should designate your characters sexual orientation. This would stop a lot of **** happening that players don't want to happen, because it lets the game know how other characters should respond to you. I would prefer developers focus on friendship paths because this hasn't been done right and is the precursor to doing romances right in my opinion. i.e. ~friendly rivalries ~bromance ~flirtation Get this right first; and for Pete's seek integrate this into the plot so that it has some weight to it.
  20. Getting waylaid is cool! It adds to the sense of adventure because you don't know what you'll encounter on the road.
  21. I kind of have to wait for a patch since I plan on playing a rogue (with no individual stealth until first patch). I was going to play a wizard but uh changed my mind...
  22. After watching that video I feel that I will enjoy this game. The attention to detail by Obsidian is impresive, bravo!
  23. Was there music playing during the stream? I ask because I couldn't hear any.
  24. At one stage near the end of the stream Josh clicked on a memorial and it showed 'Hiro protagonist' a frequent poster on Obsidian boards. They could at least keep these elements consistent with the world with a bit of a nod and a wink if you know what I mean.
