  1. Take cover, point at enemies and shoot?
  2. I hate to say it, but now Portugal is playing like I expected them to. The midfield has completely lost the plot. I'd like to say that it is because the Czech are piling more pressure, and are just better than the Turks, but the fact is that even when they aren't under pressure, Deco, Moutinho, and Petit keep losing the ball and missing passes.
  3. Kohan, which was quite awesome, was critically appreciated, but it was more or less ignored by the gaming populace.
  4. Czech Republic [0] v Portugal [2] Switzerland [0] v Turkey [1] Croatia [0] v Germany [2] Austria [1] v Poland [1] Italy [1] v Romania [0] Holland [1] v France [1] Sweden [0] v Spain [1] Greece [0] v Russia [1]
  5. SVEEEEEERIGEEEEEEEE!
  6. I buckled and joined facebook. Stupid moment of weakness.
  7. Why? Seems like a strange choice for most people with proficiency in English to make. I get where you're coming from but the site's purpose seems to be not one of "me too" in terms of audience, in the sense that there's more to be gained from addressing portuguese readers than trying to be a fledgling site which has no kind of competition with the likes of, say, Kotaku. Also, not everyone has the time to handle both the writing and its translation. Eventually this will happen - in situations where we might interview a developer and have to translate the contents to our readership - but are likely to be few and far between. I love Pidesco all the same. I have a feeling he didn't dwell in answers because we've talked about these themes in the past, and I suspect he would choose them. Actually, it was mostly laziness and lack of time since I'm not at home right now. Anyway, I picked roguelikes, and their influences because I think Diogo can give that a more academic spin which interests me in terms of game writing. As for indie games, because with the internet I think all games will one day be indie games, and as such I beilieve they will one day represent the cutting edge of game design. This means, of course, that I'd be interested in a forward evolutionary perspective of indie games, as opposed to a straight up cataloging of what has been done. P.S.: I'd like to point out that I am a translator.
  8. It's awesome to see Italy get a taste of their own medicine.
  9. Isn't your financee someone who gives you money? Or is it someone who gets your money?
  10. I didn't think Ballack was bad, especially in the first half. And Lahm is, indeed, their most consistent performer.
  11. Germany's left back seemed like their weak link. He was quite awful.
  12. *Indie Games On The Rise - Pretty straightforward title, I guess. *Roguelikes - Retrospective about roguelikes, and their influences. Go for these two.
  13. Still sore about that bit of skulduggery at the world cup ehh Ronaldo winks and he is evil incarnate, Rooney stomps on someone's family jewels, and he is the greatest player ever.
  14. I finally saw the new Indiana Jones. It was great fun with some well directed set pieces.
  15. I don't understand why people say Portugal is all about Ronaldo. Our only weaknesses are the strikers and the goalkeeper. I defy anyone to find a national team with as much depth in midfield, the wings and in central defence. Also, on the right, Bosingwa has been looking literally unbeatable at the back, and very impressive coming forward.
  16. Well, the game between Switzerland and the Czech Republic was pretty awfully played. The Czechs don't have a proper playmaker due to the absence of Rosicky, and Switzerland, despite playing earnestly, have no real quality in their team. As for Portugal-Turkey, Portugal played surprisingly well, given their recent form and Scolari's usual tactical ineptitude. Turkey, conversely was surprisingly awful. I really thought they had a bit more verve in their game. The referee was fairly incompetent throughout the game, and two of Turkey's players should have gotten red cards. The disallowed goal was the right call, however.
  17. Unfortunately, they decided to drop that entirely from their games after BG2.
  18. I thought the forced teams were one of the best things about BG. It forced you to think strategically and personally about who you wanted in your party, and to think about the party members as actual people instead of just numbers on screen.
  19. If you don't have the money for an 8800GT, then go for a 9600GT, instead. It's quite cheap and a bit better than the 8800GS/9600GSO.
  20. You have full control of your party in BG2, DN. No need to have your characters go on suicide rampages.
