  1. Storm of Zehir's soundtrack really is awesome.
  2. Generally I have to agree with your assessment. It would be nice to have such customization and while I am really trying to like AP it seems its just not going to be the game for me. However, in Deus Ex, you were stuck with one character as your PC and that game turned out really well and was a great CRPG. So keep your options and mind open about AP you never know. Is that advice you're following, yourself?
  3. Obsidian is working on Aliens and AP. Also, supposedly, there's a new fantasy game they're working on, which should come out only after Aliens. How would it be possible for Obsidian to be working on another expansion?
  4. Morgoth is like bottled sunshine.
  5. There's a virus on both of your links btw. What? It's Game Trailers.
  6. I think the book would be better if it was about the Brain Reaper instead of cop Brian Reaper.
  7. Well, yes. That's why I said minor.
  8. The planets were optional but they were a pretty big optional. The majority of the game is the side planets. If you take away the side planets, Mass Effect is the probably shortest RPG I've ever played. Even shorter than MotB.
  9. NOLF was an action game though and the point wasn't to be able to roleplay the character. Choosing the appearance of the PC doesn't add anything either but is generally accepted as almost mandatory in the western RPG tradition. There was some minor roleplaying in NOLF, in the Deus Ex sense, where some missions had more than one way to be completed.
  10. How about some actual frigging purpose for the thing, instead of pure filler? If you want good level design in a similar situation, look at Taris in KOTOR or Peragus in K2. "This poop here is awful, don't you agree? It's not like this other poop, over here, which is much more awesome."
  11. Kuantokusta.pt generally works pretty well for research. It's kind of the Portuguese Newegg.
  12. I find it hard to even consider the general planets as levels... They seem procedurally generated(Doesnt not mean they are). The planets in ME were a height map and a random number generator.
  13. There will always be a couple of trolls who think it easier to ridicule than to be constructive. Maybe they lack imagination themselves? Can you really start a sentence with "But..." in English? Yes. People who think differently are usually advocates of dogmatic linguistic prescription and no one ever got anywhere by listening to those people.
  14. I'm watching The Day After Tomorrow. It's hilariously atrocious, from the plot, to the science, to the dialogs. It's a comedy.
  15. I believe the 30th of June counts as Summer anywhere on the northern hemisphere.
  16. Perhaps, but what we don't have enough of are dual-gun-wielding-slow-motion-super-ability-action RPGs.
  17. If you are talking about say writing, where almost everything has been tried I agree Volo, but in video game creation which is, basically, still in its infancy, innovation should be the bread and butter of the industry, even if a lot of that ends up failing.
  18. Or maybe it sold like crap. That's the widely held belief, anyway, but has anyone bothered tog et some hard numbers on this? Hard numbers being incredibly rare in the public world of video games, but still. With Macs coming back into the fore and attracting more and more users, doesn't it make sense that the Mac games market is ready to be developed as well? Who knows without some figures? Also, Atari is more than likely the decisor here, not Obsidian. If Atari wanted Mac (and Linux) ports of the expansions, they would have been released.
  19. We know that there isn't a publisher, yet.
  20. What kind of error message does ME give you? Your problem sounds similar to the one that people who have daemon tools or other virtual drive software installed can suffer from. It gives me no error message. It just quits to desktop as it's starting. And the problem goes away after rebooting. Also, I think it depends on the time I've had my PC on.
  21. Yeah, clearly it's my fault. Because I'm not experienced or knowledgeable about computers that are configurable by untrained monkeys or anything and I really enjoy having one single game in my fairly vast library of games force me to reboot my PC every time I want to play it.
