  1. Isn't it just a regular disc copy protection?
  2. Imperialist this, imperialist that. LoF talks like a Red Alert villain.
  3. I'm checking them out as we speak. Beirut - Nantes
  4. Beirut - Elephant Gun Pretty good.
  5. I can understand perfectly why people see Dead Space as a bad game. However, what I have trouble getting is why RE4 is almost universally seen as God's gift to gamers, when it's, in many ways, practically the same game as Dead Space.
  6. Other than the third person action gameplay where you take potshots at specific body parts of slowly advancing masses of enemies, I guess you're right. Really, the ways in which Dead Space's combat is different from RE4 were outright improvements to the gameplay: more interesting and varied weapons, better and more varied enemies, much better boss fights and generally more responsive controls.
  7. I'd imagine the plot advancement was forced by the cancellation. In any case, Sierra and Victor are far and away the best thing to have come out of this show. I hope they get more opportunities in other productions.
  8. I have always been under the impression that whatever game sales numbers are shown, they're almost always only retail and only US.
  9. He does that.
  10. I like strong looking brunettes. I'm not a cat, I'm holding a cat.
  11. They might not be funny, but the lady was kinda cute.
  12. Here's a question fo LoF: In what specific ways was the Soviet Union a Marxist country?
  13. I thought the horror, plot and everything not immediately related to the action was pretty incompetently done in the first one. What it did do well was taking Resident Evil 4 gameplay and turning it into something interesting and engaging. So, from where I stand, this looks like, maybe, a good call by EA. Also, I never could get used to that strange, silent HUD robot walking a little ahead, and on the left of my field of view. Why was he there?
  14. Didn't the whole Lord of the Rings production cost 300 million? 100 million a movie, I guess.
  15. Right at the start, in the upper left part of the flowchart, there are what seem to be pairs of dialogue options that lead to one reply, each. What's the difference in outcome between these options?
  16. I've met loads of gorgeous Australian women. Very impressive, especially if you consider I've never been to Australia.
  17. Where are all the people who used to play infinity engine games? They seem to have been replaced by those who want games to play themselves. I started to laugh and then I realized you're serious. I've played all of the IE games at least once. Actually, probably at least twice for each and some of them several times. I also started my DA on hard and have not reduced difficulty the entire time. I didn't realize this was an manhood contest. The AI has casters do stupid things. Just the way it is. ...And since you have to unpause somewhere along the line, you're going to end up with bad mage decisions from the AI if you have more than one mage. Ugh, you know, I thought this was a place to discuss stuff. Sorry to have intruded. I'll just head back to the other DA thread. Forget I asked anything. Don't leave! Anyway, the point isn't one of manhood, but rather that something seems to have changed between the time when you played Infinity games, and now with DA. What's the difference between micromanaging two warriors and two mages in DA and micromanaging a 6 person party in BG2, for example? If anything, in DA things are much simpler to take care of than in BG2. Stay and discuss! I still love you! In a manly way, obviously.

  19. I've been finding that momentum turns a dual wielder into a murderous death dealer. Really, it automatically turns almost all 2W talents into a useless waste of a quickslot. A bit unbalanced, to say the least. Seriously, except for Shale, all melee fighters become useless because of it.
  20. I have a few friends who live or have lived in England for extended periods of time, and they all think English women people are horribly ugly, even in London. One of them even goes so far as to declare that he has only seen one beautiful English woman. This after living in England for 3 or 4 years. As if everyone in England is a member of the Royle family Now, I've been to the British Isles a couple of times visiting, and I'm not sure I agree with it. I've certainly seen beautiful English women. But I can see where they are coming from, because of the English type. This is all a response to Wals saying London women look amazing. They don't. Even if I don't think they are as ugly as all that. Disclaimer: I think Diana Rigg is one of the most beautiful women of all time.
  21. I got the EULA but not The Edge. What does that mean? Should I be thankful I don't have to listen to U2?
  22. The achievement locked picture is awesome.
  23. If you try to buy games (software) from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk, the website says it won't ship to the zone you're in. I believe it's the same with Steam. There was an news article here in Australia showing how you can still use Steam and bypass the zone restriction by having a friend in another country get it for you. You have to get a bit creative. ebay retailers is anotehr way which is what I use. The risk is that if the package gets stopped by Customs and they realise it's a banned game, they will seize it and issue you a letter for importing banned material. What about online retailers other than Amazon?
  24. Was the problem from inhaling all the smog?
