  1. Yep. It's pretty much as over as it can be, without actually being over. With all due respect to Yogi Berra, of course. =) ... Ok World, do you loves us again yet?
  2. http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/ As of this typing: Electoral Votes Obama 346.5 McCain 191.5 Popular Vote Obama 52.0% McCain 46.1% Win Percentage Obama 98.1% McCain 1.9% Senate Seats Held Democrats 57.1 Republicans 40.9
  3. Being 3D and having top down views are not mutually exclusive. Look at the Total War Series. Otherwise, I totally agree with you.
  4. Well, top down/isometric is a bit dated when compared to the current 3D age. Just saying...
  5. Very positive Review from the always reliable Tom Chick. But the real storyline here is how you develop your character and navigate the choices. This is what makes Fallout 3 a great RPG. It's got plenty of meticulous stats and picky skill checks, but what sets it apart is the way you navigate the moral geography. Who do you help or hurt, and how do you do it? That's the far more compelling part of the storyline, and it's the bulk of the character development, even more than which perk you take when you level up (which is also pretty compelling). In this regard, Fallout 3 is very much like the games of Obsidian and Black Isle, but without their dated top-down contrivances.
  6. How does LUCK come into play?
  7. So I take it that if you don't want to make a non-gimped build, you should tag small guns and speech? Incidentally, is it possible to plant explosives on someone and watch them blow up?
  8. "...the real reason was to get some revenge on the 'bloody arabs' " Ok. I'm as borderline pinko and anti-Iraq war as almost anyone, but that's a little daft. As much as George W. wanted some comeuppance to come Saddam's way after the apparent assassination attempt at Bush Sr., that starship won't fly with the US Congress, the Joint Chiefs, the National Security Advisor, and pretty much anyone else involved in the decision making and approval granting process of the US government. Plus, I really don't think that Bush would go to war JUST for revenge. He's not that kind of monster.
  9. Yeah, but are you going to USE your lunchbox? I am. I actually need one.
  10. What do you know about international law? Jus in Bello? Jus ad Bellum? Syria has throughout recent history engaged in acts of Cassus Belli. There are many things wrong with the US foreign policy as perpetrated by G.W. Bush, but I hardly think that this ranks highly on that list.
  11. Yeah, it'd be nice if all sovereign nations behaved and treated each other with respect and follow the teachings of Bill and Ted. That's not how the world works, and the Syrian government certainly does not respect the sovereignty of other states. I don't have all the facts or intelligence of what exactly happened, and I'm certainly no fan of Dubya Bush, and though as unfortunate it is to have the deaths of non-combatants and civilians, as well as other collateral damage, it is the prerogative of the US government to go after a legitimate terrorist target when the intelligence is accurate, and steps are taken that will reduce the amount of unnecessary deaths.
  12. You realize you're talking abut Syria here, right? Granted, their government isn't exactly Hezbollah, but still...
  13. Maybe they'll construct new pre-fabs and loan them out for ME 2 and 3 so there will be better variety.
  14. I am a weak person. I have very low expectations for Fallout 3. So, I pre-ordered the Survival Edition. For the PC. AND XBOX 360. Thinking that that was overkill, I canceled the PC order. I'm still regretting my purchase, but I do want the lunchbox and bobblehead... (I did restart Fallout last night though.) Coincidentally, Chris Avellone wrote a new forward to the Fallout Bible for the GOG edition
  15. Cover up? Umm, no he didn't.
  16. Wait. I thought Hades, who was Visceris, became 6 Foot Invisible Rabbit. And Killian was Sand.
  17. Since we all know that it will be the KotOR MMORPG, and anything else is delusional denial, I'll just pre-emptively pose these questions: 1) How will this game fit in the storyline as told in K1 and K2? 2) Will we see Bastilla Shan? HK-47? Carth Onassi?? And all the others? 3) Can we be Jedi? Sith? 4) Can we be a Mandalorian Clansman? 5) What role will starships play? Can we fly freighters and fighters? 6) What of the continuity from the comic books? Will we see Qel-Dromas, Sunriders, and Carricks? 7) When will it come out?
  18. The Coater Mumorpuhguh?
  19. Powell argued emphatically, behind the scenes, against Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, et al, against the invasion of Iraq, but in the end was unable to convince Bush to see reason. After he lost, Powell, being the good soldier that he always has been, put on his public face stood behind the President's decision. Despite being the public face behind making the case to invade Iraq, Powell retains alot of his popularity in this country. Americans have always seen him as a person of integrity, and worthy of respect. His favorability numbers are as high as any public figure in politics. He has broad appeal to a wide range of the voting public, whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent. He's not exactly someone that would be easy to demonize as a target for character assassination.
  20. Heh. You know, if some of this stuff wasn't completely made up...it wouldn't be half bad.
  21. The thing is, James Ohlen has an amazing track record of designing really good, and FUN games that are in many ways, achieve goals different from each other. The BG Series - The classic party-based tactical combat simulator with dialogue and plot. NWN - Bringing PnP DnD online. KotOR - Cinematic rpg that captures the essence of what makes Star Wars fun. More than any individual crpg designer out there, I think whatever he touches turns to gold.
  22. I may have to play my first Mammorpehguh when this comes out.
  23. Are the Sharpe movies good? I've read every one of the books, they were fantastic. Watched The Sharpes series back in the nineties on A&E. I remember them being really good. I've always wanted to get the DVDs, but they are insanely expensive. We're talking anime prices.
  24. The intro for Mass Effect is really good.
  25. From what I understand, The Creative Assembly specifically hired a modder from the community to work for them and test out and improve battlefield and campaign AI, as well as unit balancing.
