  1. That was real too.
  2. I'm kinda surprised Ramza hasn't shown up with all the mentions of The Black Hound. This was right around the time Black Isle was developing BG3 and Fallout 3, each cancelled one after the other. This was essentially the end of Black Isle. By this time Brian Fargo was already forced out, and Herve Caen et al wanted to concentrate on console titles. Plus through other business dealings, Interplay lost the DnD license, and got sued by Bio for royalties. Everyone jumped shipped and Obsidian emerged.
  3. Understood that it's still very early. There's definitely some areas you can take the formation systems, even at the squad level. The original Medieval: Total War may be something you may want to look at as a reference, if you haven't already done so (includes -morale, shock, flanking, environmental conditions, as well as formations). Looking forward to see what you guys can come up with from a tactical perspective!
  4. I'd like to see a hate-mance with Shar-Teel where if she successfully saves against a charm check, the pc will have to make a reflex save against castration.
  5. Bobby, do you anticipate that we will be able toggle loose or close set formations within the pre-sets? Additionally, tin stated that you guys will be looking into charge type attacks? Taking that a step further, will we be able to charge in with a close order wedge formation en masse, into an enemy formation?
  6. Sure. I'll check it out after release. Try it out on the iPad during my daily train commute.
  7. Influence based control sounds intriguing from a role playing standpoint, and makes sense as a game mechanic, but...if implemented, we'll see major player backlash ala spirit eater mechanic. Players like to eat their cake.
  8. I thought I read Feargus state they've passed $20k on the kickstarter comments page yesterday.
  9. It'll be nice if they can match Wasteland 2 (61k backers, $2.9m), but it's going to be a stretch to catch Double Fine (87k, $3.3m).
  10. Ziets has been taking quite a few MOTB questions on his formspring account. http://www.formspring.me/GZiets
  11. This is a pretty random necropost.
  12. Good interview. Matt Chats are pretty neat.
  13. Hmmm...just checked the Kickstarter page. Looks like Feargus et al have discussed bringing back Ziets. From the comments page.
  14. I'd be more interested in a Jagged Alliance 2 type game.
  15. http://www.kickstarter.com.funnyordie.com/projects/83719047/sex-tape C'mon fellas!
  16. I tried that build on NWN2 but the animations they used were those of a slashing weapon. It was a bit...disconcerting. Why would you hack with a spear?
  17. The spear and shield combo seems to me to be the arms of a soldier massed as part of a shield wall/phalanx/or other close infantry formation with like-minded armaments. Different and probably not too practical for an individual adventurer.
  18. - Making it to the Friendly Arm Inn - ...finally reaching Baldur's Gate - reverse pickpocketing some explosives in Fallout and waiting for the guy to blow up. Figured it out on my own and lol'd when it actually worked! - "What can change the nature of a man?" - The haunted hotel in Bloodlines - The Darth Revan twist
  19. Nice job Justin! Really good stuff and I especially like the third track. One thing that might seem a little off to me though were the pauses here and there. Seemed maybe a beat too long...?
  20. The devs listed King of Dragon Pass as one of their inspirations. That got them an automatic look from my end. Pledged $10 for a copy.
  21. The haunted hotel in VtM:B was the single best bit of level design that I've encountered. Freaked the hell out of me.
  22. You have to know the audience. While the concept of drows in the Forgotten Realms may be fitting, it's gotten to be a bit fatiguing dealing with Drizzt-type munchkins over the years that this group has gotten to be pretty jaded over the concept. It's always been cathartic to just wantonly murder Drizzt when you come across him in BG, just for what he represents. As such, drows have a negative stigma in these boards. I'm speaking for myself, of course.
