  1. You'll find a key in your Products tab on your account page on the PoE site when they release it (2:00 PST). Insert key into Steam, download beta, enjoy. 2:00 AM or PM? 10:00 PM GMT+0 right? It's been delayed by an hour, so now it's 11pm in Britain, and 12pm in the Netherlands/Belgium/France/Germany. Any source on that?Cause if that's actually the case, I'll stop waiting around and just leave it be until tomorrow. Brandon Adler announced it in the Beta Announcements subforum.
  2. I can get down to Star Wars.
  3. You probably have the truth of it.
  4. The problem with this is that there's a chance that the Beta will come up while you're busy working. *clickety clackity* "Yessir. I'll have those TPS reports for you by the end of the day." ... *Refreshes my phone*
  5. Maybe I should actually be productive at work today...
  6. I don't think that word means what you think it means. You are ranting about perceived offenses that go against your set of expectations regarding an update announcement for an announcement that was scheduled to go out today. Anyways, let's not get into a tiff on semantics. I guess I can understand why you wouldn't want to get into semantics, because you continue to misapply the meaning of words. I have neither ranted nor have I thrown a tantrum. Expressing an opinion, even one that some may not like, in a respectful and composed manner, as I have, is not ranting or throwing a tantrum. I know that I'm not alone in wishing for a little communication. Why does this offend you so? In hindsight, your postings came across to me as as more aggressive than what it actually was. Though my original entitlement statement wasn't specifically directed at you. Maybe it was the EA reference... My bad.

  8. Yes. You are throwing a tantrum to be precise. Save it for when they actually do us wrong.
  9. Well, maybe. But I do distinctly recall during the Kickstarter a lot of touting from OE that the crowd funding model would free them up to communicate freely with the backers, who are effectively the publishers of the game. Call me crazy, but I don't think this a quick, single sentence forum post is too much to ask for. Look, you haven't been following development as closely as some of the rest of us the past 2 years. They've been keeping their promises and explaining the process as we go along. Just relax, the sky isn't falling.
  10. My god. Sense of entitlement. They said today. It's still morning where they are at. Let them work.
  11. Maybe because they don't want to crash the servers with a heads up announcement for the announcement we're waiting for?
  12. Be honest Bruce. It came right down to the romances didn't it?
  13. I don't view video games as being so important that I need to make a principled stand when it comes to where my entertainment and leisure dollars can go to.
  14. "Your player house is located within the boundaries of the stronghold, but it is its own building with its own upgrades/benefits." "I think physically splitting the house and the stronghold increases the likelihood that the player will choose to not visit one or the other (most likely, the house) over the course of the game." -Sawyer. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64350-update-63-stronghold/?p=1368432 Oh no! There went my plan of skipping the stronghold altogether. Unless I can skip that house too. I refuse to take part in any bloated financial scheme of money sinks and smoke screens. I don't want to create any Enron in Eora, if you know what I mean. Well it is the Age of exploration in the gameworld setting. Maybe I'll be able to start my very own Dyrwood East Aedyr Company.
  15. My trophies will be kept in my dungeon. A menagerie of defeated foes. So I can go like this whenever I darn well please:
  16. Did you just create a new acronym? I broke out my deep pondering skilz for atleast 25 seconds trying to decipher DGL before I got it.
  17. That's just vile. Delete your post before Feargus decides it's a good idea. Someone would sue, and then Obsidian wouldn't be able to develop a sequel. You wouldn't want that to happen would you? It's not too late to edit your post. Hurry.
  18. I'm curious as to the OP's choice and why? I'm not interested in either. But if given a choice between the two, I'd pick DA because I have more familiarity with the setting and Bio's design philosophy. As far as sword and sorcery RPGs go, I'm firmly behind Eternity.
  19. Eh. Doesn't matter to me. I actually worked QA years ago right out of college. Writing bug reports doesn't bother me. The pay was so terrible that I figure I may as well do pro bono work anyway. Pro Tip: it won't really do much good in drafting a bug report unless you can do it again in-game and then give clear, succinct steps as to how to reproduce it. Use direct and precise language. No extraneous prose. Each company has different formatting, but general rule is thus: Summary: Summarize the bug in a few words (one sentence) 1) Describe in ordered steps how to reproduce the bug 2) The following will occur: (describe in specific detail, what you experience) 3) Explain what should have happened instead of the bug that occurred.
  20. They were terrible in 1989. ...I still chewed on them though.
