I had this issue, then I went with a dual wielding, melee focused slaughterer.

Guess the release date!

I don't think anyone should get a second vote. Otherwise, the whole thing is pointless. -
I just completed Stick it to the Man. The concept with mind reading and stickers was farily simple, but that was what I wanted and expected. Now playing inFAMOUS: Second Son on PS4, Styx: Master of Shadows and Costume Quest 2 on PC and finally, returned to Yakuza 4 on PlayStation 3.

That is currently going very cheap on GOG... I think it's worth the money. I don't regret my purchase on release, even if there were some bugs that are mostly ironed out.
-
I couldn't even bring myself to complete the new Thief demo.

I want to get Styx, but just can't handle another game right now. Focus has been very active lately. Do you have any thoughts on how it compares to Dishonored? You need to be more stealthy than in Dishonored if you want to survive for a long period of time. On Goblin difficulty, if you get caught, you are going to get killed. In Dishonored, you could at least fight your way through enemies. There's obviously no blink power in Styx. You get a short-term invisibility ability, a cloning ability and an improved vision ability. Two out of three are not really needed if you want to play it without powers. The cloning ability is used at some points in the story and to get some loot from optional areas but that's it. In general, I am liking the level design in Styx a little better than Dishonored, mostly because you can't actually blink your way past obstacles. I have been killing guards left and right (stealth kills) but most of the time, you can find other paths around them. As it is my first time playing, I just go with the flow and kill or stealth my way through different situations. You can remove objective markers and try to find your next destination on your own. You lso get a map of the area, but it is a map you have to look at in the menu. It gives you a representation of the area you are in, but you will have to know where on the map you are on your own. I'd say the game isn't very hand holdy and that is why I am enjoying it. I didn't even know you could whistle to lure enemies from their positions until I read another players impressions. Level aren't Thief/Thief 2 level complex but still big enough to satisfy my needs for a competent stealth game. What I like most is that the game encourages and in some places demands that you take a stealthy approach and that is why I can recommend this to fans of stealth games.

I disagree, good sir. I did a binge watch of the first four seasons over the past two weeks and I must say I really enjoyed the show. And I detest lawyer shows. I liked the seasons 1-4. I did not like season 5.

I just finished Blackguards. It was very enjoyable, despite some bugs doing their best to not allow me to complete the game. I am also playing Styx: Master of Shadows. I am only 4 hours in, but I am happy with my gambling on a pre-order. I'm playing on Goblin difficulty and enjoying it so far. You have some supernatural powers, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to. Levels are decently sized so far and there is nice challenge to finding your way to your goal. I have read reviews that complain about difficulty and forced stealth gameplay, but I don't understand why one would dislike those two aspects of the game.
-
Regret before you even started the game. I want to tell you "I told you so", but I won't. I will save that for when you are 20 hours in.

No attribute distribution on level up from what I read somewhere sounds like a bummer to me.

As long as spells like stoneskin or ghost-armor aren't in the game. Those spells wreck balance. I don't really care for balance, and even if I did, there's always a way to balance them. Half the fun of combat was pre-buffing and preparation in the IE games. I know this might sound strange to some, but it added to the fights. I'm fighting something that will destroy me if I don't have a resistance to this or that, better cast it to protect myself. In PoE, fights are over so quickly that I don't feel the need to use buffs with the wizard. I only use the priest for buffs.
-
For those that don't like buffing pre-combat, it wouldn't hurt your enjoyment of the game if it was allowed in Pillars of Eternity. If you don't like to do it, you don't have to. I would like to see the option implemented before release.

I actually thought Varric was the best character of Dragon Age 2. In fact, he was one of the few characters I actually liked in that game.
-
That's wh yI said from day one that I am treating this as an action role playing game. It's the only way I won't be disappointed.
-
It was a very bad game either way.

They do run out of keys. It's happened to me at one occasion.

In this promo, I see Broken Age: Season Pass. (It's not really a season pass, you get the full game whenever it is released, AFAIK, but the wording is strange.)
-
Cool. I have both that and Styx: Master of Shadows pre-ordered. I have been a bit unhappy with Double Fine lately, but I still bought Broken Age during a sale, and I enjoyed the first Costume Quest enough to pre-order the sequel.

Going to finish up Blackgaurds tomorrow. Did a fair amount of quests today and yesterday. Once I am done with it, it will mean that game #45 of the year has been completed. (I have also completed two games twice.)

Kingdoms of Amalur beaten. I only had like five lore stones to find in the entire game, but once I beat the final boss, I felt no reason to go back and find them. I enjoyed the game overall, or I wouldn't have spent close to 85 hours with it, but the story was a bit boring, and I skipped most dialogues. I had 201 quests completed. Monsters were fun to fight, but after a while, they it felt like you had fought every type of monster over and over again. The boss battles were fun but could mostly be destroyed by entering Reckoning mode. It would have been interesting to see what they could have done with a sequel, not that that is ever going to happen.

I've been a very healthy semi-professional athlete for 11 years now, I might not have a personal training certification but my credibility lies in my success in that area. I guess I've been a semi-professional athlete for about 20 years. But don't worry, my lack of certification does affect my credibility, so trust people with an education in kinesiology. Oh, since I'm here: I didn't know you had six wives.

I will be playing games, then eat a pizza, watch Liverpool destroy my good mood and play more games.

Mishandled development
Labadal replied to Malignacious's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I wonder whose alt this is. I find it to be funny. Could it be Bester? I am unsure, he was a bit more amusing. With this one, the trolling is even more blatant. At least, it is getting some people riled up. The person will not be banned as that almost never happens over here.- 80 replies
