  1. Because it lies both in Europe and Asia, obviously. So does Turkey. Parts of the "Middle East" is arguably in both Africa and Asia. Watch us not care. *second scaniafist*
  2. Not the same thing, doesn't count. I think it is about what you can expect. Think along the lines of Neverwinter Nights 2 and Baldur's Gate II. If you're thinking "Sims 3" levels of "Home", you'll be sorely disappointed.
  3. Your question seems to be deeply embedded into the world of Action "RPGs" (used in the loosest terms possibly). The distinction between "Legendary" and "Unique" is semantics, at best. Preferably, there should be no tiering like this in Project Eternity at all, nor should there be any dominant "way" to to get "legendaries". If they colour-code for stupid, I'm throwing my copy into the bay.
  4. Really, walking through a map once was too much for you? There's like 3 empty areas in the entire game, and even those have some monsters to kill. All the others either have things to find or quests to solve.
  5. And let's not forget the Siege of Saradush, although admittedly you didn't really defend it as such, but it was an awesome event. And the way you ended up storming Yaga-Shura's camp pretty much proves that there's no limitation in the spawning regard.
  6. I see a lot of people actually preferring Baldur's Gate 1 over Baldur's Gate 2 around here. Almost surprised to see it, So we can always hope.
  7. No other country - save Australia for obvious reasons - got their own option. Why would Russia? 'Middle East' is Asia or Africa, depending. I actually hate how the 'Middle East' now exists, even though everyone seems to have forgotten the Near East and the Far East. The Middle East is suddenly a huge damn place.
  8. I think you've posted this in the wrong forum. I think everyone here is aware of the Kickstarter Campaign. It's a bit hard to miss all the stickies and stuff.
  9. Which is what would make perfect sense.
  10. Multiple personality schizophrenic disorder + ambidexterity? :D
  11. I don't have much to add, except that I absolutely hate it when wolves drop gold.
  12. Companions. Definitely companions. The currently promised number of companions is dismal.
  13. Awarding experience for killing people has always been a terrible way to distribute experience. Deus Ex got it right. Experience distribution should be goal-oriented. I think anyone ever trying to RP a rogue in any CRPG ever can relate. Which would be absolutely terrible for the HULK SMASH kind of characters.
  14. I don't see why you'd think it was trolling. And if it was, it was a dismal failure. How come? Lefties are far more discriminated against than sexual deviants. And for no good reason. I can't even remember the last game that allowed you to pick handedness. Clearly, we need more obnoxious leftie interests groups trying to push agendas.
  15. There absolutely shouldn't be bonuses for running solo, aside from possibly the accumulation of experience that should otherwise have been divided by the group. It would completely invalidate the entire point most people run solo to begin with.
  16. We don't actually know that. For all we know, you will spend experience to buy advances, which is common in many RPGs. In fact, I tend to prefer that. Saves us from the whole HP/Mana inflation (unless you want to pay for it).
  17. I'd love this, but only if I can discriminate him somehow for being lefthanded. Obvoiusly. Imagine the puns and not allowing him to the right of your formation! (Just to be clear: the latter shouldn't be an in-game restriction, but you can always, you know, roleplay.) Hey, that might actually be good. By positioning lefties to the left of me, I've reduced the chance of friendly maulings by at least 20%! I also suggest that since lefties are rare, they should have a +1 bonus against parrying. :D Seriously though, I can't imagine that this would require a relevant amount of effort to include in the game. Mirrored sprites or models, some tweaking, tadaa. It wouldn't even really be something I'd be likely to use, but I'd really like to see it in the game. Especially if I can complain about some recruitable companion being a leftie. "Lefties have no soul!" "Lefties are an evolutionary dead-end." "Lefties are mutants. You're a mutant!" :D
  18. I really, really liked the pacing of Baldur's Gate. You got substantially stronger, but not ridiculously so. Levels were rare enough to be major happenings when they came, and they were relatively powerful for that level-range. My only complaint is that they weren't really.. substantial enough. I would've liked to make more choices when levelling up. That said, I'm opposed to hard caps in roleplaying games. There should definitely be a soft cap, though.
  19. I don't think you understood what he's talking about. You are speaking about how each area was populated. He's talking about the "overworld map" that linked all these areas together. That one with a bunch of hotspots where you had to click to reach each specific zone once you knew about them. I was, in fact, talking about the overland map. Baldur's Gate 2 was "Hotspot"-based. Baldur's Gate was clearly not. Actually, that's still not quite accurate, because in Baldur's Gate it wasn't enough to know the area was THERE, you also had to first travel to an area that physically adjoined it. So you HAD to do some physical walking around (and exploring, because the area was black when you arrived) in order to travel. [...] And I'd like to mention that you also had to fulfil certain conditions for some maps - exactly what the OP asks for. For example, getting to the Bandit Camp wasn't just a matter of getting to the adjacent map and walk to the correct edge of it. You had to actually know where the Bandit Camp was. You had to have cause to go to Cloakwood before you could enter it. I think it's just very clear that some people have only played Baldur's Gate II, and just seem to assume that Baldur's Gate had the exact same map system. Which it didn't. And it was far more awesome.
  20. I'd love this, but only if I can discriminate him somehow for being lefthanded.
  21. Rehashes is a terrible, terrible idea and I just cannot see how that would work. Especially if you want to keep a coherent sense of style across the entire game (which you do, oh god how you want to do that). But I do agree with the general sentiment. I would definitely prefer proper icons & artwork in my inventory, not just some 3D model. I'd give you a "Like This", but apparently there's a limited quota every day, and I've reached mine. D:
  22. You say "Hotspot based" and mention "BG or ToEE". That's just some kind of crazy. Baldur's Gate and ToEE are like night and day in this regard. Baldur's Gate had entire areas of the map with literally nothing but a few wolves, or gibberlings. There weren't many of them - the vast majority of areas had some subquest or were part of some subquest, or had some hidden loot or something to explore. But they were there. Baldur's Gate is by far my preferred way of handling maps. But "Hotspot based" it is not. Your poll is bad and you should feel bad for making me vote "Other" in something where Baldur's Gate is mentioned. Shame on you. Edit: And after reading your post, I realize that you are clearly as crazy as your poll suggested. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. What you are describing as desirable is, in essence, exactly what Baldur's Gate did. Ever tried to get to Cloakwood before you had the quest to go there? Ever tried looking for the Bandit Camp? Goddamned. I feel like insulting you, but I can't, because I hate accumulating warnings. Argh.
  23. I think this is more important than representing various forms of sexual deviancy, and would no doubt require far less resources. So in the "I don't care" department of development, this has my vote for "most important feature I care the least about".
  24. Where is the "Both" option for the first question?
