  1. No force-fed modernist "social issues" and thus by extension, no pansexual, omni-bisexual bollocks.
  2. And more importantly; No arbitrary restrictions on the timetable, bar pure economical ones. And that's something that repeatedly has devastated most Obsidian projects (Knights of the Old Republic 2, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc).
  3. NO! I REFUSE TO! I haven't been this excited about a game since I was 16 or something and oh my god I just realized that's 10 years ago so no, I will not curb my expectations! I want everything promised, all the stretch goals - even the ones I don't care about - and a chocolate sundae!
  4. Knowing EULAs I somehow doubt it's legal Nobody cares about legality. Legality is moot. It changes from time and - especially - place. It's why most piracy discussions bog down to nonsense. Let's discuss whether it's moral, instead. I doubt he'd get it sold, though. It's still D3 we're talking about here. :D
  5. That's actually a good point you make. You made me reconsider my initial endorsement. Unique items should have their own "uniqueness" unaffected. Being able to interchange the model/skin between items would drive the supposed "distinctive personality" out of these items. What can I say? Let's just hope they are not going for exceedingly cheesy stuff in the end game. Something that for some weird reason happens *systematically* with RPGs. I would like to reach the final part of this game without having my party wearing crap like this: http://social.bioware.com/uploads_user/1880000/1879525/42771.jpg http://www.xbox360cheats.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/daedric-armor-skyrim.jpg and more stuff like this: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ly93uf7iPy1qh4ca1o1_500.jpg I entirely agree with you; Hope to the gods that armour in the game does not end up looking like recent "fantasy" abominations. If you want to see "armour gone wrong", look at practically any MMO these days. Awesome mid-level loot. Terrible, terrible "high-level" or "epic" gear. Some developers (EAware, ActiBlizz, Bethesda, etc) couldn't do a Sauron without screwing it up, for some reason. Oh, "vanity things" aren't inherently wrong. Vanity mechanics are terrible work-arounds. But vanity items; I'm all for those. Nothing like stylin' through the city in a cozy red silk cloak, some new noble-clothes, a pair of fine leather boots, gloves, and more enchanted jewellery than you can shake a stick at. Even as a ranger or fighter or paladin or whatever. I love pretending that I'm important and dressing "appropriately" in RPGs. Nothing like beating the hell out of Loghain dressed in nothing but a nobleman's attire and a golden sword. But those should be different items. There shouldn't be some mechanic to make up for a terribad range of equipment.
  6. There's.. there's still people that play Diablo 3?
  7. I can't think of anything. Everything I want in Project Eternity has been done many times before.
  8. Lately? I'm trying to come up with examples, but I can't really think of any roleplaying games that would fit into "lately".
  9. Yes. We need more sewers. More sewers for everyone! More sewers for Spoony!
  10. Yeah, I have no idea how anyone could advocate this in the name of roleplaying. It's near-literally the antithesis of roleplaying. It's a game mechanic specifically designed to circumvent choice. If you find the Black Helmet of Bhaal, it should be a black helmet. If you find the Jester's Headbladder of Ridicule, it should be a multicoloured ballsack with balls hanging from it.
  11. Terrible, terrible idea. Reminds me of the experience increases for running higher difficulties in Fallout 3. We all know how good that didn't turn out.
  12. There's always room for another class, another archetype, another career. Any class-based system can show you this, unless you want to argue that a Fighter is the same as a Ranger or that either is the same as an Arcane Archer.
  13. For a second, I thought that MR. RAGE had made it to the forums.
  14. Some of us, including me, enjoy the borders and definitions classes endow us with, as a focus for our characters. I wouldn't call it a holdover from DnD either; there are many, many systems with classes & careers.
  15. God, I'd love Illithids. Since it's a new setting, they wouldn't have to be wildly overpowered and get like 9 adjustment levels.
  16. I'd like to see the short list too, but it would probably be something slightly spoilerific at this point, otherwise I'd think that they would've settled on something already.
  17. Anything, really. As it stands, additional languages are pretty much a non-rewarding stretch goal. Underwhelming, uninteresting and useless is an understatement.
  18. This is a bad poll and you should feel bad.
  19. What? Where's the option to just play a new game? No, not "New Game +" or something asinine as that. Just a new character. New Game. If I'm "Done" with a game after a single playthrough, it was a really, really bad game.
  20. Can someone link me to where they said that you'd only get experience for quests? Because if so, that is as disheartening as experience from combat.
  21. Just call the setting Obsidian. Name the game Obsidian: Eternity. Then we can name anything that comes afterwards "Obsidian: The Douchering" or "Obsidian: Torment" or "Obsidian: Development Hell".
