Assuming that's true I imagine so. It's not another fully numbered installment so they wouldn't change the settings. Besides they have painted themselves into a corner on that, it will take a good deal of work to bend history to their ideas of political correctness. More interesting will be the target platform. NGP perhaps?

Just finished Tropico 3. It's a fun cute little game but could really do with a bit more depth or at least better production values. Certainly worked better than the Guild for me.

Wouldn't that mean they would always vote to oppose any change? By that assumption the status-quo candidates would win any election.

It's the same all around the world, it takes a 'special' person to be a politician. A certain kind of psychopathic liar. I know that abusing politicians is a crucial privilege of every democratic society but don't you think that's going a bit too far?

PC control scheme made me lose interest in the game
pmp10 replied to topeira's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
And I understand the disappointment when the long-awaited game looks to be aimed at completely different system/control scheme/audience but I believe it's a little to early to judge the PC controls. Between 2 camera positions and customization option (and community mods if need be) we can't really tell for certain until we try it for ourselves. It's certainly true that mouse controls are recently poorly implemented in general (who's the genius that killed virtual joystick?) but for all we know people on the videos use mouse only to fill spreadsheets. Control systems and their responsiveness is not something that can be easily judged from gameplay videos so I'll wait for gamer impressions before crying foul. -
AFAIK the author is no stranger to retcons in star wars. Besides he seems to embody the Bioware style of writing (awesome/kick-ass at expense of plot/narrative) so the take on the events of KOTOR II will likely differ from the game.

PC control scheme made me lose interest in the game

Aside from the fact that you are jumping to conclusions such solution is definitely a good one. You shouldn't be able to cast/attack on the run, it's a contrivance of action games. It may work in Guardian of Light but this is (supposedly) an rpg game. Is this even a confirmed part of controls? There are simple forms of using mouse with hold-down buttons for simple direction input so no - you don't have to aim anywhere else. I get that it's a rant but clearly you have no idea how control schemes 20 years ago looked like. Back in the days of Cannon Fodder this was a significant improvement on the joystick-only scheme. That it can be adapted to modern times just by including few hotkeys and a scroll wheel clearly shows how versatile control system it is. Then the mouse becomes completely redundant, you will simply aim all your attacks with your characters body. Only you'll be doing with less precsion that a joypad user. That's because in that game you use ranged weapons only and projectiles auto-detonate on collision. You can't do that with melee attacks and aoe spells. You can always plug in a joypad into your PC. -
Anyone know how long will it take before we can find out what project Virginia was? Someone mentioned that NDA on cancelled projects is even stricter than on the ones in progress.

TL;DR version: intervention is a French plot to maintain economical privileges?

I'm not arguing that scale of piracy is insignificant, it's that console piracy is greater than one on PC is what I find unlikely. The issue I have is with implication that software piracy is unstoppable with which I disagree. There is a world of difference between securing software and media. There will never be a effective solution to protecting the latter as thanks to it's non-interactive nature all you need is a video camera. Software works differently. They have been doing that for a while now. Game pricing in Russia or Hong-Kong is significantly lower than in western countries. I doubt it will do them much good in the long run, I imagine they are actually losing money on that business. I'm perfectly aware how big a business piracy is. The point is that it can be effectively combated on consoles if people designing them will actually put effort into it. Companies designing and securing those machines can make use of far greater technical expertise than any would-be hacker. Whether they actually want to is another matter.

Source for that? Simple survey of the torrent trackers would still point to the contrary. That's an exaggeration. PS3 has been cracked only recently and is now re-secured with firmware updates. You can't buy a pirate version of Portal 2 for PS3 (at least for the time being). What makes you think that PCs are still in need of constant upgrades? As the old PC market divides into specialized devices the need for universal desktop computers grows ever smaller. In fact laptop sales have almost overtaken desktop sales recently. And there is only so much upgrading (or gaming) that can be done with laptops.

would you prefer the typical fantasy approach? "zomg you the Chosen One!" "no wai! i'm just a farmer/street urchin/irrelevant peasant!" "is troofs! you are destined to defeat Epic Big Bad Guy!" "okay now all of a sudden i have awesome fighting/magic skills. i'm ready for my destiny!" If done in sufficiently corny way? Sure. But when you try to go for a serious approach and have little original ideas to present please don't hit me over the head with exposition. I can catch things on the fly and it's unlikely I will bond with cast this large anyway.

I really doubt becoming a suicide bomber is considered a career choice in those societies. And opportunities to become doctors and lawyers are not that common even in western democracies. I'm going to have to disagree with you here, being a doctor or a lawyer is not as lucrative in these places as it is in the west. It is still possible for them to have a relatively great number of doctors and lawyers. E.G: Cuba's a third world country and still manages to have a great medical system, going so far as to send doctors overseas. The problem I see is that acquiring education in such a society without any proir familiy history takes a good deal of social mobility. No matter our wishful thinking I doubt that is a common feature of afgan society. In general making policies for such a place projecting our societies and institution onto a tribal people will rarely end well.

I guess no one else found the first episode boring? There was almost no fantasy elements to catch attention and it mostly consisted of the introduction to the (typically pop-culture-distorted) characters and politics.

Now that could get problematic. I don't revisit inventory often but some of my friends do it all the time.

They've updated their FAQ. It says the game supports 16:9, 16:10, and 4:3. Yes. Native, non-native and letterbox respectively.

It was handed out for free as a part of some promotion.

I guess this was to be expected since they didn't streamline them enough in Oblivion/Fallout3. But how can they hope to maintain alchemy/enchanting without them? Majority of magic effects in Oblivion resulted in increase/lowerinf of stats. Doesn’t seem like they could work similarly with perks. This probably means the end of SPECIAL for Fallout.
-
Apparently the game will support only 16:9 aspect ratio. Other resolutions will get black bars. Anyone else find it hilarious that after all the emphasis CDP placed on graphics and supporting the PC platform they messed up something so simple?

Aesthetically pleasing female character designs.

So it's not all social perceptions. And through medieval period it was punished by burning at the stake. Not the best example to make an argument. Biological diffrences if willing. For unwilling cases a combination of social/personal factors and peer presurre. -

I'd say that a system that doesn't need a separate overlay for judging proper cover location would be an improvement. Not to mention actually do the hiding faze automatically in response to being shot at. Civ 5 TB combat is a poor example as it quickly resulted in players winning wars with 30 to 1 unit loss ratio. TB systems in general tend to be deeply flawed and confusing to newer players. If you really want to hate the ja2 remake just wait for the presentation of the strategic layer. You can already see vehicles on the tactical map that would make a major strategic resource in ja2. Something tells make that

For a beta that doesn't look half bad. But that
