It happens. You go in to get your boobplate resized and come out with a full beard and the pox with a desire to burn heretics. Had a cousin that happen to once.

It's Serafen, everyone's misspeling him for some reason. Just show me the nearest sacrifice pool so I can throw Takehu inside. I blame HIM for no-dwarf policy to start with. Ydwin is OK, imo. Cause spelling it with a fin at the end makes him a shark!! I do feel sorry for Takehu at the moment though, he's the only full companion who is losing to a sidekick in the poll. Granted, its the dwarf he is losing to, but he is also drawing level with gibberish speaking sidekick as well.

Not Slavoj Zizek? I'm disappointed. Yeah, everyone's been caught on the Ydwin craze, but I fail to see the appeal. It seems a bit out of place to me. Xoti, on the other hand, looks like very well integrated with the main story, and her interactions with Edér are bound to be interesting. And yeah, that concept art makes her look really cool. So far Maia Rua and Xoti are the most interesting to me, but there's not enough information to decide that just yet. Yeah, out of the full companions Serafin, Maia, and Xoti are the most interesting to me (in that order), while Ydwin and Takehu are bottom and give off a special snowflake vibe to me. Naturally this is just based on what little information we got at the moment.

It would make half my character concepts easier if it was! There's an explorer background. Couldn't say what class. Rogue perhaps? Yeah the explorer background is a given (or is it? He's not actually GOOD at being an explorer after all...). I'd say Rogue too, or maybe Chanter? With the multiclassing maybe both?

Out of the actual full companions? Serafin and Maia tied, though probably a bit more for Serafin if I'm honest. Including the sidekicks? The dwarf man, stumpy love! Least favourite? Takehu, for some reason he just doesn't do anything for me, I kinda feel that he brings nothing to the table as a person. Maybe once I get to learn more of him, but right now the pictures of him are actually off-putting and annoying for some reason. Speak for yourself, many of us actually like those sidekick concepts and see it as the best chance we get for them. Personally I would rather see them drop Ydwin and do the dwarf as the 8th companion instead but I'm sure you wouldn't like that.

I can understand where the OP is coming from regarding the chair and share many of his sentiments. She seemed like a cheap cop out from actually having minions working at the castle, could magically arrange upgrades and the like just by throwing money at her, there was no workers you could see appear to do the work, could be contacted wherever (though she couldn't actually tell you important stuff until you returned to base, despite being able to tell you that you needed to return...), etc. It made the keep feel very gamey, you did not have a title with the keep and seemed to only have a claim to it because "the keep likes you, aw look it's rubbing up against your leg!" Like many things though, I realise that my feelings may partly stem from the other issues with the base that the chair highlighted and made worse: the lack of actual people at the keep or connection to the rest of the world. If they had people working there, aside from the hirelings, repairing stuff, administering your lands etc that the chair OVERSAW as opposed to magically did herself then it probably wouldn't have been a problem (and made it fit in more with the statue in the sanitarium, where the guy oversaw everything but couldn't actually do anything himself, he still required staff).

I'm with Karkarov. I also like that by taking two classes you become something specific, not just two classes but something that can be recognised by the world. Grim Dawn does this, and I enjoy looking up the different combinations to see what they make. Plus, if you enable renaming, then it'll be harder for them to implement responses to what you are ingame since you might rename a combination to something vastly different in concept. No, I love the combination names and I hate the idea of renaming them.

First, I want to say thanks for organising this Fluffle, it is appreciated. Second, I'm sure its just me who makes this kind of mistake, but it could be that many people are mistaking the $8 pledge as the donation. Or more likely they are waiting for March due to monthly outgoings, including the pledges to the actual fig campaign itself which are going out shortly. Once you have a deadline you will probably see a lot of last minute donations come in, as it becomes a "now or never" deal, but until then many people are probably holding off, either waiting to pay other things first since "there's no rush", or waiting to see if others donate first, especially with the "no refunds" even if we don't reach the target (which naturally becames a nasty cycle, no one donates because no one is donating).
-
I haven't donated, my understanding was that this donation thing carried on past the fig campaign so we would have time later to donate and I am really strapped for cash at the moment (expecially since my car insurance renewal is coming up this Friday, which is going up a stupid amount due to a change in my address), so I was going to wait until after all my expenses were done this month before doing so. Plus, when I initially voted I had made the mistake that this was to do with the $8 BIB pledge on fig and only realised after voting, so reading comprehension for the fail there.

I'm willing to give five a try, but definitely not four. I have done four, and not just in Tyranny, and I'm sorry but its just too small, even with all the abilities and such like. There's less leeway in building your party, there are less characters to compensate for one bad character for instance. The class of your main character will have more of a determining effect of who you will take with you as you will always have your main character in the party. Which brings me to my next point: one of those characters will always be your created character, which means that a party of four actually has THREE companions, four for five etc. Take a look at the dramatic picture at the top of the Pillars 2 forum, of your companions fighting on a boat: one of those won't be in your party, as you can only fit five in and one of them will be your main character. DA: O did four, and while there were many other problems with that game (the fact that you only had two mage companions, one of them that POS Morrigan who would bugger off, two rogue companions and about four or five warrior characters depending on if you count Dog didn't help) being limited to four did not help one bit.

Cool stories there! Had no idea about those If you don't mind me being curious, what then, if not half-orc? I was wondering that myself!

Not sure if you serious or trolling Summary: fate of Fulvano is not known we discussed this a lot in this thread maybe it was his body in PoE1, but no names were given so it's just a guess official wiki says that he is nowhere to be found in PoE1 in Fig comment section somebody asked about the possibility of meeting Fulvano in PoE2, and brennecke replied vaguely "Maybe if Fulvano is still alive. Is he? Hmm..." derp EDIT: Found brennecke's post: Missed all that, sorry. I just remember finding that diary entry of his bemoaning how he had lost the rest of his notes when he tripped over a rock and had been chased by xaurips before leaving a blood stain at the bottom, so figured I had finally found him. Thought it was strange they had introduced the Pillars equivalent to Volo only to kill him off in the first game, but figured someone at Obsidian really didn't like Volo at all and so it was some sort of wish fulfillment. Cool, glad they didn't kill him off then, though the amount of travelling companions that die after meeting him makes me wary of doing so. Kinda like having Jessica Fletcher come to visit: you know someone's gonna be murdered, just gotta hope it ain't you. Gonna go back over this thread now and find this prior discussion (and anything else I missed).

Bevil survived the intro. He was not a companion later, but he did survive. True, I did say "or bugger off" though technically it was the player who buggers off not Bevil. I suppose I should say companions who stay as permanent party members past the intro, though of course that then invites people to point out characters that do just that... like Verse in Tyranny... I done it to myself!
-
You know what would be really exotic for Obsidian? Companions that survive the intro! Seriously, NWN 2, PoE, they either all die or bugger off. Amie, Bevil, and Kip could have been an awesome party. Calisca and Heodon had more personality for their brief jaunt through the tutorial zone than most other games have for their protagonist. A character that survives the tutorial in an Obsidian game? Like damn unicorns!

I'm sorry, but I have to say it is YOUR behaviour that is warranting none, 'trioxid has been downright polite considering you started off with insinuating that he was being dishonest with your "people like you would say that" comment. If you want people to treat you with respect then you need to do the same in return.
