  1. I even got good at the 5 letter super fast hacks. Though I have noticed that this seem to be performance based. When i fraps a lockpicking minigame (to show I don't have to pick up my mouse), I did notice that I had to move my mouse a lot more. That's an oops for sure.
  2. The game is pretty clearly set in an environment that isn't realistic. I liked that the guns were only modeled aesthetically on real life counter parts, but were their own thing. It was fun to twink out my gun and do bizarre modifications for it that wouldn't necessarily be grounded in reality. I know people like their gun porn, but you have to admit something like this is so trivial in a game that is so much more than the guns in it.
  3. LOL muffin. I did it my first playthrough, and when I came back the second time I thought "awesome" because I had to fight Championchik that time.
  4. I ran around as an engineer (was a recruit to start) and had fun shooting people in the face with the shotgun. I'm on the PC on normal difficulty, but I didn't really find it that hard. I took some pistol skill to get the cover shooting as well, for more stealthy takedowns. I think Fallen Ghost is exaggerating personally. Also, while I can agree that the game should have told you about sabotage level 1, I also think that people should actually take the time to read the skills. But hey, I'm weird like that.
  5. As for the weapon mods being one time useable: why not?
  6. One thing I actually really like about AP is that you had to make actual choices and couldn't save everyone/everything. Having said that, your options are not bad ideas. I would have actually really enjoyed it if what you described was possible due to being a veteran start
  7. I was able to successfully melee Brayko. Aside from Darcy, I don't think there's a single person you can't beat with high martial arts skill, especially if you have stealth. Against Brayko all I did was hide and Shadow Op, then I ran up beside him and did a 6 hit combo on him or so. I immediately put him into cokehead mode, and when game control was restored I comboed him to death. This is on Normal. /shrug. I may have used Fury. I don't remember.
  8. Are you the one that made the one for Alpha Protocol?
  9. Which game, if you don't mind me asking?
  10. It's just that easy? I mean, just a lunchbreak worth of work, right?
  11. Is it really? I thought components today were also significantly more advanced at dealing with things like EM interference. I'm no expert on the subject, but you are talking like one. What I see are news articles depicting a worst case scenario type situation. Your posts make it seem like we're all pretty much ****ed, which comes off as being an awful lot like fear mongering.
  12. Each weapon seems slated to fit a specific role with minimal overlap. This decision seems similar to why SMGs only come in dual SMG format. An assault rifle with single shot subsonic ammunition effectively makes a pistol with a silencer on it useless in the game.
  13. A common theme I have seen is that today's electronics are more susceptible to this. Why? I can understand the effect would be more serious as electronics are more common today. But that is very different than more susceptible.
  14. Continuity for the sake of continuity is a bad idea IMO.
  15. Would be cool if the in game LOD reflected this, but it'll never happen I'm suspecting.
  16. This would be a design oversight or flaw, take your pick. It doesn't have to be either. If every level would be perfectly stealthable without exceptional patience or the stealth abilities, then stealth as an ability tree becomes marginalized and not useful. As it stands now, you can do an okay job of stealthing around without skill points in stealth, but ultimately you'll run into issues. Just like how you'll do an okay job without points into any weapons, but ultimately you'll run into issues.
  17. http://e3.gamespot.com/story/6265330/civil...=gumballs;img;3 Mmmmm, Civ.
  18. No, but there are people complaining about the lack of "stealthing" through the game without spending major points into stealth. The game wasn't designed to let you snoop around every level without being spotted without the crazy skills IMO. Barring some extreme patience.
  19. These events seem cyclical. What happened 11 years ago? Or 22 years ago? Since one happens every 22 years, while the other every 11 years. "A more likely scenario was that large areas, including northern Europe and Britain which have
  20. I think it's pretty obvious that the game is not actually intended to be realistic. To any that followed the game development, that became pretty obvious a long time ago. I can understand how some might expect a very realistic experience, and that's a fault of the game, but by design it's not intended to be realistic.
  21. Alien Swarm is built on the same engine as Unreal Tournament 2k4, even though they look, feel, and play completely different. "P.S. NWN > KOTOR" Why did you PS this? No one was discussing it. Unless you're just trying to start an internet pissing match.
  22. I thought the SWTOR video looked pretty sweet
  23. The song was probably MGMT - Kids
