  1. I find it easier to just move the mouse until the lock symbol on the right turns light blue -- I used to try lining up the slot on the tumblers and the red line, but that seemed harder than just moving the mouse until the color on the lock changes. They seem pretty easy now, and I'm only level 15 or so on Hard difficulty with 0 points in any lockpicking related skills.
  2. Some good debate here, thanks for not trolling the topic I don't think the game suffered seriously from its lack of authenticity, and I totally get the over-the-top aspect(I did mention the "super spies" after all). That was a good point about wanting to distance themselves from real-world weapon manufacturers, although why not ditch reality at that point and make up your own guns completely? I would find it hard to believe that weapon artists couldn't just make up completely original guns. I found it weird that there's all this reference to "real world" stuff but at some indeterminate point it all becomes make-believe -- I have no problem (at all) with make-believe (I love the Mass Effect series). There seemed to be some totally arbitrary lines about what aspect of firearms were true to reality, and I guess that's where I was a little disappointed. PS. What makes it "gun porn" to want some realism in your selection and upgrades of firearms? Is it "stealth porn" to think that Shadow Operative is O.P.? hehe -- I'm just kidding, not trying to derail my own thread.
  3. Oh, I get that, and to some extent I agree...but would it really be so hard to base it more in reality? I guess with some of the over-the-topness of the enemy spy design (O. D. and his "special moves" (no spoilers!) ) that's to be expected. Hehe, yea I wouldn't object to a "gun-realism" mod...not sure how likely that is
  4. I understand this isn't a game about gunplay, but it astounds me that so many details about the way firearms are implemented are just plain wrong. For example, the UC .50 cal pistol is not a big, beefy gun. The actual in-game model looks like it's a Gsh-18, which is a 9mm pistol. Even if this is a "fictional" weapon created for the game, shouldn't a weapon that's supposed to shoot one of the most powerful loads for a handgun at least LOOK larger than the other pistols? There's a ton of other stuff wrong too, things like subsonic rounds being magically "silent" in assault rifles, "chambers" holding extra rounds, and so on...not trying to nitpick here, but it honestly makes we wonder: 1) was it an intentional choice to get all of this stuff wrong, 2) did the designer not care, 3) was it an oversight by someone who just kind of generally cruised wikipedia and decided it didn't matter anyway? Curious -- I still am greatly enjoying the game, but I'd enjoy it a little more if there was more veracity on the firearms!
