I doubt there will be one. What's been confirmed is that it will have pre-rendered backdrops and apparently a "new rendering method" whatever Feargus is hinting at with that. They're clearly going for an Infinity Engine-feel (they said that themselves), and honestly, Obsidian is not good at stuff like interface and camera. A fixed perspective will help them focus on better map design and more interesting environments, imo.

With the kind of budget Kickstarter allows, you won't get cinematic conversation or cutscenes anyway.. though I'd personally like to see something like the Dungeon Siege III painted cutscenes for the most important/pivotal conversations/cutscenes. Not sure how feasible it is for conversation, tho', since they have customizable characters.

Non-combat skills
WorstUsernameEver replied to Bendu's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Sawyer is in favor of transparency when it comes to check, iirc, so we'll most likely get something like skill/attributes tags, at the very least. Then again, who knows, maybe he's changed his mind! -

It's their intention at least: -
This bit of concept art that was in the video was on Brian Menze's DeviantArt for quite a while, and the description doesn't really sound like it's meant for Project Eternity, so I'd expect most of the concept art there to be actually from other projects. Going by the guns and the designs I'd say that was DSIII concept art. All speculation on my part, though.

I prefer turn-based but they've already stated they're designing the ruleset with RTwP in mind, and a hybrid system always does more harm than good (see Arcanum and its half-baked combat) and is usually something that gets crammed in as a request from publishers that won't tolerate turn-based-only (well, now they just don't tolerate that type of RPGs period, eheh). I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game though, but so far that's really been my only complaint.

Thank you, sir. -
Eh, I'm not really sure what dark fantasy is supposed to mean (something like Ravenloft? something like The Witcher that presents a rather pessimistic view on politics, gender relationships and human nature? something like Vampire: The Masquerade but in a fantasy fashion? uh..) but yeah, I'd agree that stuff like the overdone sex, blood, etc. hurt the game.

Dragon Age wasn't even that different from your run-of-the-mill fantasy setting..

Neither our (GameBanshee, and iirc, the tipster also contacted Joystiq) source nor Kotaku mentioned any detail about North Carolina (well, Kotaku was told that the project was for Microsoft and that it was meant to be for their next-gen console, but that was it). Stuff like setting, genre (besides the fact that it was to be an RPG, obvs), etc. are things only the people at Obsidian or close to them know, unless there have been other tips/leaks (as far as I know, though, there haven't been). -

These concepts sound more interesting than anything Obsidian will ever come up with. Someone's gotta hire you presto. -
Combat of South Park
WorstUsernameEver replied to Flouride's topic in South Park: The Stick of Truth: General Discussion
For all we know that's a hint about gameplay. A very cryptic hint. -

Some people are particularly attached to certain gaming universes, their characters, their locations, their art styles, etc..
