  1. It's from my top secret indie game. It's going to be a worthy rival of Wasteland 2, although I don't have the budget to market it, so I'll keep it for myself and play it in my dark, lonely room. Nothing to see, move on.
  2. Bethesda the publisher, not Bethesda the developer. It's Arkane, the Dark Messiah of Might & Magic/Arx Fatalis folks that developed it, with the help of ex-Deus Ex Harvey Smith. In other words, a pretty solid team. That said, Bethesda hasn't been the greatest publisher in the past, so I could understand wanting to get some solid feedback on the final game before jumping on it.
  3. Bethesda is trying to balance being good with DLC and generally decent with DRM (Steam is not the worst solution, though hardly the best) with some truly excruciating pre-order bonus stuff. If it's like New Vegas it shouldn't matter much on the long run though.
  4. STALKER 2 was already supposed to be multi-plat anyway.
  5. Don't. Of course, the interesting part here is that they plan for the NPCs to carry over into BG2EE, so the "family connection" might not be accidental. They're contractually limited as far as the old dialogue goes.. at least for BG1 they couldn't record new lines for the old characters. I don't know if that was only limited to the party NPCs or the original game, and if, in case it wasn't, they could make exceptions, though.
  6. Uh.. it's *possible* but Alpha Protocol relies fairly heavy on its dialogue and the possibility to have fairly different experiences in different playthroughs so I wouldn't recommend it.
  7. It's all in a single package that will get support and that will work on iPad though, and no mod so far has made multiplayer less of a mess iirc. That said, ehr, the new areas look like barely any effort was put into them. Disappointing.
  8. Have you never read comic books before? All the stuff you complain about are typical comic book conventions when not traits of the character.
  9. Baldur's Gate. That BioWare RPG with no romances. Well, now it has them. Well done Beamdog. Well done.
  10. Of course they are.
  11. No? He outright said that they broke a lot of the D&D rules stuff to make the mechanics and narrative they had in mind work.
  12. They aren't changing anything, they're adding a new server with the Guild Wars model on top of free-to-play. Which I doubt will ever have a decent population in the first place, tbh.
  13. No? Iirc it was just some sort of trans-media thing, not a game. Hope I remember wrong though, despite some fairly weak storytelling those games were goood.
  14. Honestly speaking, I think you have drawn more attention to the video this way. I'd be surprised if anyone had heard of them here. Plus, uh, free speech and all, so if the author of the video wants to let people how much he (? sounds like a man from the video, hopefully I didn't pick the gender wrong) hates the game.. ehr, sure, why not? I don't agree that New Vegas is bad but whatever.
  15. Well, it's been months since then, some of them have found other positions (some of them funcroc has kept track of...), others have founded their own indie studios (Jason Fader and a couple of others have at least), etc. That said, yeah, I would find it weird if they didn't try to rehire the free ones, but I'm sure they have/they are.
  16. First screenshot is out. Full update here.
  17. On the other hand, people are spending money on OUYA so..
  18. Not enough SSAO, Bokeh DoF and soft shadowing. I'll pass.
  19. They both worked on Storm of Zehir iirc, right? I mean, any ex-Obsidianite offering his/her own RPG expertise is appreciated by me, but that sounds particularly indicated in this case, since SoZ offered a pretty damn decent (if maybe underdeveloped due to the expansion scope) take on the fully-player-created party mechanics.
  20. No, Alpha Protocol used UE3. I don't really see any reason to use Deus Ex's engine besides a faulty logic that goes around "Deus Ex was good = therefore using its engine will make it easier to make a game as good as that". I don't think the technology behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution was impressive in any way, though I might be wrong.
  21. Partially OT: Art and Appreciation.
  22. The water in Morrowind looks good even today. The rest not so much, although I still love the art direction, the lean figures, the city structures, the iconic armors, the color choices, the skyboxes (Bethesda is really good at those, though for some reason they didn't seem to keep that quality level for Fallout 3 or its DLC.. New Vegas was just as bad unfortunately, Obsidian disappointed there ), the creatures... but yeah, the graphical engine doesn't look good.
  23. Uh, that's weird.
  24. Storm of Zehir had some good encounter design, yeah. I don't remember anything particularly great about DS3 or MotB but that might be my memory's fault.
