  1. I'm even more confused than before, to be honest. Have I ended up on Bethesda's forums by accident? Is this the real life? Is it just fantasy?
  2. I just don't understand the "The Elder Scrolls is all the fantasy the world needs in terms of videogames" sentiment.
  3. Wheel of Time is a Red Eagle Games project, not Obsidian's, they were only hired to assist with it.. and it doesn't look like REG is going forward with it.
  4. You probably know more about it. Are you sure janitors weren't laid off recently?
  5. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhh..........
  6. Its and it's are not the same thing, Flouride!
  7. A musical RPG set in a Texas high school, that's my best guess.
  8. I don't think F:NV had a feature creep problem, it's mostly just the scope of the map/quests that wasn't properly managed. I don't know about Obsidian's talks with Bethesda, so it's possible that as contractors they had specific requests, but the game probably would have benefited from a smaller but more detailed map (less random shacks and one-room dungeons and more detail in the various main hubs, more environmental storytelling, etc.), a dramatic cut in terms of quests (even cutting a good number of fetch quests there still would have been a lot of very detailed ones to make up for that) and.. well it's fun to play armchair developer, innit?
  9. No idea what it is, but uh, it's a project! Wooooh! Can't wait for the Obsidian forums cycle to kick in in full force, it's half of the fun of following the development of a game from them!
  10. What platform? Epic Mickey 2 will be released on the HD consoles and PC (ok, I'm not 100% sure it will be released on PC, I'll need to double-check) too, aside from the Wii.
  11. A YouTube video is available though at a slightly lower quality. For something so early in development it looks promising, looks-wise. I doubt it will be a state of the art title as far as the tech goes by the end of development, but I also doubt it will look ugly.
  12. Nice, I just took care of the Capra Demon, so I'm making my way down below for a bit. Not excited about the cursing frogs though. You can easily avoid the basilisks, and besides, they're not even that difficult to fight :D
  13. Play the demo as administrator.
  14. Finished Arcanum. With more polish (in the form of a slightly less bloated and more balanced character system and less bugs) and shorter dungeons, it might be the best RPG I've ever played, since it manages to mix the cohesive, consistent tone of a title like Fallout 1 with the scope and intricacies of Fallout 2, and adds to the table a really good setting. Pity the story is not as good as it promises at the beginning, but still, even with all those flaws, it was a really great game. Loved the expansiveness of it, the art style, the music, the quests, and the writing (save for some parts of the main story that felt a bit weak).
  15. The Elder Scrolls fans like using this kind of mechanics as a crutch for their imagination. If there was MORE writing to the characters they'd probably complain. I mean, hey, they've managed to create a personality for Lydia out of nothing!
  16. Pretty cool to see KOTOR 2 on Steam after all this time. Now that the restoration pack is out it will probably do well in terms of sales too, lots of people will probably just play with that installed from the beginning.
  17. Interplay pulling a desperation move or a legitimate attempt at re-establishing themselves on the market with an old brand?
  18. Anyone can put a plot synopsis out, but not anyone can put some concept art that matches stylistically what has already been shown during panels/talks/etc. Regardless, EA's lawyers is making various websites take those screenshots down, though I'm leaning more towards real rather than elaborate troll
  19. It's not a private profile, that's the point. Social networks are used to advertise your work and make contact in the industry as much as any other thing, and that profile was public. He didn't realize that the comment would have had this kind of resonance? Of course, he probably didn't. Doesn't mean it's not relevant. Ultimately, I guess you'll just never agree on that, but personally I find that it's newsworthy.
  20. It's a publically made unprofessional comment. It's easy for me to see why one could empathize with Wilson's emotional state, but it's not like a mail was leaked or anything of the like. So, since the criticism of the game from an original team member is newsworthy, so is how the developers chose to respond in an, again, publicly viewable Facebook post.
  21. Steam Bandits was funded on Kickstarter. All's well that begins well, I guess.
  22. I was, well, am thinking of backing it, but there's an element of trust that is lacking with this team in particular, so I'll have to think carefully about it. I *do* hope it succeeds though, because the project is interesting.
