  1. Glad you're enjoying it.
  2. EDIT: Ehr, wrong topic.
  3. Fair enough. I'm not sure whether I have anything to ask Tim Cain now besides "Why are you so awesome?" or "Can you teach me how to cook?", but maybe I'll register eventually.
  4. Thanks for the opinions guys! I guess that's a "nope, not gonna play that"
  5. They're taking advice from Fargo on the Kickstarter so I assume they will do stuff like that and the pre-order store. Having a bit of a buffer coming from that during development (and if it all goes well, keeping it as profit) will certainly help keeping things smooth.
  6. I don't know, I don't think Oster is lying or anything, but he hasn't been at BioWare for a long time so uh, what's he basing that on? Might be they were just stressed because BioWare got much bigger since he worked there and they had a lot of stuff on their plate, plus they weren't as involved in videogames. Then again, now I'm speculating too, so, uhm, maybe it's better that I just shut up.
  7. How is World of Tanks? I've seen it mentioned often, but I actually have no idea what's it supposed to be besides that it's free-to-play (maybe?) and involves tanks.
  8. I'll be perfectly honest here: I have some fairly big prejudices on the website based on the community. Obviously, there are a lot of people there who are fine, but I kind of feel like it creates the same kind of unsafe environment that places like 4chan "enforce". Is there any way you can sell it to me? I honestly don't want to contribute to a website like that, but it might just be I'm wrong on Reddit.
  9. They have already stated that, even if they were to have the resources to do multiplayer and were convinced to go for it, it would be something along the lines of Baldur's Gate (party co-op). In other words, this game won't get PvP.
  10. It's an arena-type DLC with additional loot rewards. I didn't really do a lot in it, and it doesn't really seem like it's worth a purchase. Nice for those that like to test their mastery of the combat system, though.
  11. The point of concept art is to offer a guide for the in-game assets, not to look fancy, so I don't really see the point of posting artwork that looks fancy from DeviantArt. I'm sure that when the time will come, Obsidian's artists will be able to provide something taht is just as good.
  12. But the story was *SO BAD* in Darksiders I that honestly, having a protagonist with a personality, already makes it a lot better. EDIT: Ah, by the way, Argul's Tomb is somewhat a disappointment. Very short, not much in the way of a story, and the dungeons don't really add anything to the main game in terms of design. Still fun, but it kind of exemplifies the problems with the DLC model most publishers are adopting.
  13. It's very good. The story is kinda so-so (it's a side story that doesn't really advance the plot, and it's also not really well-paced) but the gameplay and dungeon design is very very good, art direction and music are also top-notch (you can really feel that being able to design other worlds freed the art team to be *~fabulous~*. Loot curve is somewhat shoddy, forgivable because it's not really a loot game and the other gameplay elements more than make up for it, but the title still could have used a better loot curve (more and better uniques, a few more possessed items, more interesting stat distribution in general). That said, while the itemization isn't perfect, it still allows for quite a few fun builds. Ah, also, despite the fact that it' look that way, the shooting section actually has the shooting as optional, besides a couple of bosses that need you to use the gun to kill.
  14. That uh.. doesn't really look anywhere close to the concept art, so I'm not sure what's the point? And the whole full-armor + bandana + shotgun is a really weird combination, the kind of you can find in works that are a lot more stylized than PE. That's why I commented.
  15. Not impressed by the art so far, with the exception of the dwarf piece. Eidar looks like every other D&D warrior ever (but according to Sawyer it's meant to look that way because he doesn't like to draw attention), this Cadegund woman looks like a fan artist's attempt to make a realistic version of some extremely cartoony character, otherwise I just can't make sense of her design. Then again, this kind of designs isn't very important for the final game since they're going iso with painted backgrounds. I'm just hoping that the environmental art will be top-notch and the final portraits won't be quite this.. bland. The world having some kind of personality would be a nice bonus. It's not like I expect all that much, I actually liked Dungeon Siege III's art direction (awful female Lescanzi's designs notwithstanding), but so far, uh, nothing I could call inspiring.
  16. You're talking about that frog-thing on the Isle of Thieves? Normally it would be one of the most challenging fights of the game and one of the few that are actually fun.
  17. Mmmh... I want developers to follow in the same spirit, not to keep making the same exact design choice, keep using outdated tech, etc. That said, if a quickie on the IE with 2nd ed. ruleset was churned out, and priced accordingly, I'd probably at least be a little interested.
  18. This made me go lol.
  19. Hours of movies. Talk about exaggerations.
  20. Sure, how dare I play a turn-based game in a comfortable position instead of hunched back on my monitor! Woe is me!
  21. The demo told me some important things: 1) The game runs very well; 2) It controls very well with a controller so I can just opt for the comfy couch experience. The mission available was simple, sure, but it was already fun and you can feel the potential tension of a proper X-Com title. I already own the X-Com collection on Steam, so I'm ready for a different take on the mechanics! Bring it on, Firaxis!
  22. Give me the premise and maybe talk a little bit about the locations and a few characters involved. I've enjoyed many stories I was spoiled about, but I still prefer being surprised by what happens.
  23. Well, uh, as long as you have the money!
  24. I hope you're mistyping.
