I wouldn't say so, pretty much all the worst designs (Ashley's redesign, EDI's robot body, etc.) appear in the first half of the game, while some of the best come later (the Banshees, IIRC, come in the latter half of the game).

That doesn't make it right, though. It *is* a different dev team with different people working on it. I mean, Bethesda isn't exactly a studio with multiple teams and a super-fast turnover, that name does mean something in terms of people.

You are comparing something you have not even played to something that does not even exist. Average forum post, basically?

To be fair, it's a 720p zoomed-in trailer. Please release your next trailers/footage in 1080p, pretty please. (Yes, this was just an excuse of mine to bring this subject up.)

I'm still unsure whether this change to inventory mechanics is really needed (why not just change the philosophy behind the drops?), but I can't say the realism side of it bothers me. I could already carry a lot of armors with me in the Infinity Engine games with my warriors and that's not realistic in any way, shape or form. EDIT: On second thought, it's best not to evoke the anti-Sawyer crowd.

Looks legit to me. Why so skeptical, Mkreku?

Mark Darrah clarified in the BioWare forums that "unique endings" are limited, and 40 is the number of combinations for large/important choices. Also, there's apparently a large number of minor choices that have minor mentions/changes in the ending. Sounds rather ambitious, but doable, and a lot less PR-y than how it came off from that summary. Rejoice, Nepenthe! Even the Uncharted 3 director went to Riot Games!

Chaos Reborn is almost guaranteed to meet its funding goal and go a bit beyond that. Isn't a bit much to complain about the money it's getting? Not every project needs to do 10x its initial goal.

I'll bet you would be if EA was taking over PE... which is exactly what this is like to the OR backers. I'm going to write Kickstarter over this and if they cannot draft terms to prevent this sort of thing in the future then they can just remove my account, because I won't be supporting anything else. Emphasis mine. The KS was for development kits, and as far as I can tell, they delivered on that and gave backers their rewards. Nowhere in the Kickstarter did they say "we'll stay independent, promise!", so, while I can understand the disappointment, I'd have to say you're being unreasonable.

Armored Warfare - Obsidian User Thread
WorstUsernameEver replied to C2B's topic in Computer and Console
It's developed by Obsidian from the ground up, the press release mentioned as much. -
Most fans of Obsidian are fans likely because of the developers' RPG-centric focus, and in particular because of their interest in certain areas of RPG design, none of which seems to align much with Armored Warfare. I'm happy to see that Rich Taylor and the team are enthusiastic (I'm going to trust C2B on this one because I zoned out after the initial announcement and PR), but I can also understand (and share) the disappointment. None of this has anything to do with Joseph Bulock's departure as far as I can tell, anyway, so I'll stop here.

Last time I checked (but I'm not very into MOBAs) League of Legends is doing really, really well, so it's probably that. I mean, while I wouldn't cry "dooooooooooom", BioWare isn't in the same position as they were after the release of Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, and Obsidian is still not the safest and stablest of workplace, even though they seem in a better financial position now than they were after North Carolina was canceled.

Uh, really? I must have not been hanging around the AP boards much then, because I really don't remember seeing his name. Didn't mean to be an ass though (though lately I end up being one anyway), hope he does well at Riot.

I can't say I'll miss someone I've never heard of before, but.. good luck? I guess?

Obsidian and the future. What can we expect?
WorstUsernameEver replied to Labadal's topic in Obsidian General
Maybe it's just me, but I put F2P MMO's in the same quality rank as 'mobile games'... you aren't? Larian seems to do fine on making only non-AAA projects? Larian also did a lot of educational projects and such, just check their website. I won't lie, it's an overall tighter running ship than Obsidian and by a good mile too (despite the really high Belgium taxes, which is kind of amazing), but they also had to make compromises in the past and went through some rough spots. -
Man, that new companion really loves tight pants.

Obsidian and the future. What can we expect?
WorstUsernameEver replied to Labadal's topic in Obsidian General
Nah. Every single time someone talked about "Kickstarter fatigue" it turns out Obsidian-caliber devs can get a project financed just fine. -

More cartoon games, hopefully, because I really liked The Stick of Truth, and it turns out Obsidian managed to nail both the look and sound of the show. To be fair, they'd probably also need to get people who are as hands-on as Matt and Trey, which might not be easy with other properties. -
Obsidian Project to be announced at GDC 2014
WorstUsernameEver replied to C2B's topic in Obsidian General
Not the word I'd use. To the thread: It's unexpected as hell, but might be good to wait for some info though. If I can't even use hyperbole here, where else will I nerdrage? On Something Awful? Woe is me. But yeah, embarrassing or not, it's not exactly the kind of project Obsidian would pitch on their own. -

That's not to say a real world war stories doesn't have plenty of potential for depth and nuance, certainly a lot more than Star Wars or the Forgotten Realms. I don't think we'll get that out of Armored Warfare, mind you, but there's a lot of potential (but also a lot more risks attached).
