  1. Mike looks so silly with full gear in the subway station.
  2. They should be fixing problems B4 adding or tweaking. Fix the gear upgrade menu, fix the clearing house, fix mouse lag, fix chain shot colour and make it possible to fire 1 shot only.
  3. Its not ugly at all. It is however uninspiring and lack of polish makes the graphics so criticized. Also screenshots don't show how bad the animations are.
  4. If the AI just stand there not doing anything some of the time, thats a bug. If they just stand there EVERY time, thats just the AI being made stupid. In this case, its bug. As for the see through wall and solid objects, well that's just an AI made lazily without much effort into it.
  5. Please don't blame professional critics. Ultimately, reviews are just personal opinion about the game. You can say they are corrupted and not giving the game enough credits for whatever reason you think is good, it might just be your opinion that it is good. AP got a 60%ish score on average, and this is a score I would have given the game as well. I do enjoy the game a lot, and I've just finish my fourth playthrough today. Roleplaying different kind of Thorton was fun, trying different choices was very interesting and impressive. Yet I will still give it a 5/10. This game is incomplete, in fact I think this game is only 70% done. The 30% is polish and game testing. And just because of the lack of that 30%, it deserves a 5/10. AP might have the great ideas, and other nice stuff, it lacks the package, the professional feel to it. When I saw the screenshots, I already said they need to do something about the graphics and artt. When IGN made a preview and praising the game what its good, they say the bugs will be dragging this game down to hell, it did. Obsidian and Sega knew this is going to happen, but they don't care. The shareholders definitely don't care (which is stupid to say the least). I am pretty damn sure they made a profit with AP, and they are satisfied. From what AP became, I knew they didn't put a lot of money into this and it is already a profit to them. What developers and publishers need to know (they probably do, just have their own reason not to do it), is to make a solid game. Thats it, no need for crazy ideas, or crazy new innovations, or high budget voice acting or the best engine or anything. Of course don't just copy and paste a game, but a SOLID game should come first b4 anything innovative. Because before you manage to make a game creative, you need at least be able to play it well. A well polish game beats a great innovative game any time. This however, only apply to Obsidian. From all their products, it is clear they are not good at making solid games, but are decent in innovation stuff. That is why they need to make a solid game instead. Call it practice or trial and error, you need to have a good foundations for anything, especially games. Trust me, a solid makes more money and more welcome than a broken game with potential. Because that potential is lost anyways.
  6. Its really fun to overload a flame and burn everyone. Flashbang + martial arts are very effective as well. Tech are not really lackluster, their just lacking in resources. You would have to buy a lot of generades and stuff if your going to be using them strictly, also they lack range. When against bosses, tech is pretty much useless.
  7. I finish my first play thru just below 8 hours. I did all side quest possible and I took a stealth gadget approach. If you go in gun blazing, you will finish this in 6. This game truly is lacking in lifespan. You might be able to try out different dialog options / handlers stuff like that, but thats just going to be another 8 hours (exluding the same stuff you went thru). 16 hours is pretty short, for 2 play through is short, and I doubt the replay value of trying different appoarch, because of them are minor.
  8. What you posted OP, was what I posted long b4 this game came out. In fact it was my first post. I was very disappointed they never took the time to polish the game, even if they delay it. It was pretty much gone gold at october, but Sega decided that Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 is going to take their sales, so they delay it. Yet after half a year, they didn't even bother to polish this game. People say KoToR 2 and NWN 2 was rushed, because of the success of the first games. Then what about AP? It sure isn't a sequel thats needed to be rushed. I don't know what Sega or Obsidian was thinking, but right now AP was a wasted of budget, a waste of good ideas, and a waste of talents. Obsidian is not a bad developer. In fact I consider them one of my favorite devs. But this is just stupid. I don't think its Sega's fault, because its not the first time Obs screwed up their game, but NWN 2 and Kotor 2 was acceptable, being a sequel. No innovation was needed. Now its a fresh start, they didn't even try to make this the best possible. What a waste...
  9. The Conduit is a pretty big success for a hardcore Wii game. Maybe not sales, but the reviews are generally favorable. On the other hand, AP is getting panned by alot of critics. And it sure ain't doing very well with sales.
  10. I didn't know SIS was a mute until, well she never spoke! Which is really cool, not alot of characters in video games are mutes. Also I really like her design, style, weapon choices, everything. I would romance her if I could. Too bad she is a mute =(
  11. Its seem like everyone uses pistol and rifle? No shotgun or SMG love?
  12. To be honest, I don't want Obsidian developing it. I want developers who care about polishing and finishing the game b4 shipping. Or maybe this is Sega's fault? IDK. But as far as I know, Obsidian be shipping half finish games since their first game, and AP is wasted because of that.
  13. Changing the MinSmoothedFrameRate and MaxSmoothedFrameRate in the APEngine to 20 and 30 respectively does the job without having to edit reg. It is also reversible and reboot not required.
  14. Fallout 3 have horrible animations, no one criticize that. Both Fallout 3 and Oblivion are buggy as hell, no one criticize that. Mass Effect 1&2 have ****ty combat and little depth to it, Mass Effect 2 even got its depth striped from it. Both are one of the best game ever made in the pass few years. AP are buggy and have bad graphics, lots of people flamed it. Fallout 3 was great because of its imagination and creating the bad wasteland as a playground. The same goes for Oblivion. Mass Effect was great because of its story telling and dialogs, and rich universe, but fell short at some other things, the game was no where near perfect. Why can't people see the good things of AP and enjoy the game? The only thing that piss me off in AP was the mouse bug and how short the game really is (comparing to other RPGs). But with the mouse thing kinda of fixed, and veteran mode to playthrough, I am now having a blast playing this game, none of the bugs are gamebreaking, nor is it obvious. The way I see it, people just like going for mainstream high profile games, instead of thinking what the game excel at,0 and enjoy it.
  15. Reviews are all very subjective, or sometimes they give good reviews base on hype and the developers or publishers. Normally I just look at the flaw of the game, if I don't mind it, I won't mind giving it a try, even if it scores 5/10. One example is The Last Remnant, its a JRPG, and some if not most people in the west hate JRPGs with a passion. So they give low score. Although I agree the game was flawed, but also because of that flaw, the game score even lower than average flawed games. The PC version fixed almost all problems, and includes lots of improvements and addition for the game, yet they don't even care about the effort and depth they put into the game to improve it, and just find another flaw and call that game breaking. Culture affect the way people see a game. I don't know much about how European like their game, I do think that Americans like their game with great graphics and production value over gameplay or depth. And AP is defin lacking in graphics and production values.
  16. No one use the aggressive option? Its actually not that aggressive sometimes, in fact it feels really natural when talking to people you don't like. And ya Professional are the Matter of fact option (It does label as that once in a while), and suave is great, but you will lose rep with people who are serious.
  17. Hell I used to play GTA with cheats and not even doing the missions at all. The only reason I play GTA was the open world and crazy cheats. but on topic, this is indeed an issue for some, I'm not denying it. Although I'm not sure they would do anything with it. Obs aren't known for making a lot of patches. And this game needs a lot of patches.
  18. well the controls aren't really an issue if you spot the code right away, you have more than enough time move them. No need to press it rapidly, hold the keys...For the mouse, just move the mouse the direction you want the block to go. Although I admit the mouse control for the right block is a bit weird. Again, just move and spot at the same time. My average time to hack is less than 4 sec, and that 3 sec is pretty much moving the blocks...
  19. I really like the computer hacking mini game, its innovative, its not easy, but its also not hard. I don't understand why everyone seems to hate it. I only reason I understand was it makes ppl eye sore? Or dizzy? But I think for every normal person it should not been, until maybe they are getting too old. Acctually I hate the lockpicking and the other one with matching on the circuit boards. Those are really easy at first, but get near impossible near end game without any technician skills. Where else the hacking is leveled well thru out the game. For those who don't feel dizzy about the hacking game, but cannot seem to beat it (even early in the game), here's the trick. I have yet to fail the game once, except the very fist time. First looking at the 2 series on codes you have. Its a 5 letter/digit combination. The board below contains loads of letters/digits constantly jumping/switching up. The goal is find the same series of code you have and match them to the pair below. If you have, 3DEA1 and E42D6 for example, don't looking for the whole thing, you will fail most of the time, or takes you much longer than needed. Instead, look for the last code (or last and second last if both series have the same ending). So look for 1 and 6. The reason to just look for the last one instead of the whole or the middle or first is because the way we read. Most should be reading from left to right in your daily lives, unless your east asian. It is easier to spot a still code out of all moving ones when it is surrounded by moving ones. Considering the first code is in the left, it will be closer to the edge, while the last will be mostly on the center area. I managed to spot the still one right away by using this method. If you move the codes at the same time you are looking, it will make life easier when the timer gets really short in the end. This is just a trick that you can use if you are having trouble with the hacking. But to be honest, just pratice a few times (abort right b4 you finish or fail), your eyes and brain will have no problem handling this mini game at all.
  20. I've been playing for a couple of hours now, and here are what I think is good and bad. Pro The dialogs are great, the timer makes it feel real, and once in a while the important gives you pressure about what to choose, which is good. The story so far is good, although I feel like they could have explain more important things through dialogs, instead of having to read the notes. Con graphics are bad, its horrible when you look at screenshots, and its a bit better when playing. Some animations are great and smooth, some is just weird. Like when you turn yourself, there are pretty much no animation in between, makes you look like turning in an instant. combat is a hit and miss. there are no hotkeys for skills, meaning you have to switch skills by going to the skill menu (although its fairly quick), and click with your mouse. This makes me wonder why not make it like a wheel? Also shooting is a pain, its really inaccurate when shooting without aiming down long enough, and the aiming takes really long without upgrading your stats. Cover system is broken. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. bugs, its a bug fest in this game. Although I have yet to see the game crash during playing (it crashes when exiting ), the mouse prolem is there for a good deal of people, and its game breaking for us. I have already encountered a few bugs when I was just playing the first 5 mins. Bodies still moving when dead (seems to be a unreal engine problem, lots of Unreal games have that problem). AI keep running into the wall. multiple voices speak at once when some of time have already been triggered a while ago (but this only happened once). AI is also a hit and miss. Sometimes they take cover the right way, sometimes they are sitting ducks. When you try to stealth thru the level, if they spot you, everyone knows your EXACT location, even after you hide somewhere else. So until that alarm is reset, your not going to be leaving cover unless you want to get shoot a few times. But even with all those cons, I am having a blast every time when the mouse is smooth. The game is very fun for me, I was surprised by a few details that I wasn't expecting, and it feels good. If I were to give it a score, it would have been 8.5 without the bugs, mainly the mouse problem, with that in consideration would be 5, because I was only been playing smoothly half the time.
  21. I have the same problem, and it is such a pain in the ass to play with this. I did try to tweak the ini, but doesn't work. I do hope Obs release a patch ASAP, because so far, I'm very disappointed about the game. I don't know if its lack of budget or what, but Obs games are NEVER polish. For god sake spend sometime debugging...
  22. If this about the delay is true, then its over for AP. Not only did it set the expectations higher, Obs actually didn`t bother with polishing all these time (it might be Sega not letting them, but either way). This game is not polish enough at all, and thats 3 games in a row Obs rushed or left the game unfinished and release it. The graphics are not good, lip sync problem, and the damn bugs. Just with these the reviewers will give AP a low score. And unless the game have a large fan base, or its a well known franchise, the game`s score directly affect the games sales a lot more than it seems.
  23. I'm not trying to insult Obs... it is a fact that their games indeed lack polish and play testing. One shouldn't ignore facts and lie to themselves thinking everything is ok, but really isn't. Also the only games they made the last few years are KotoR 2 and NWN 2, so if I take examples from the past, and both game lack polish and its full of bugs. I still think both Obs and Lionhead are good developers, just that they seem to make the same mistake over and over again.
  24. Plz no asian countries... getting tired to see stereotypical asian "slum" cities. If you do an Asian country, please do some research and model it just like what its like in real life.
