  1. You are entitled to your opinion, of course, and Arcanum does have some shortcomings, but I think it is one of the greatest games ever made and MCA should check it out.
  2. It seems that MCA will have to play Arcanum, after all.
  3. Hmm, this is a good idea. I think I have a bottle here somewhere...
  4. Don't listen to him, TSLRCM is awesome, you guys did a great work! (I suppose you are responsible for this, right?)
  5. Any NPC should be killable, party members included. To make them immortal, as it has already been noted, is a bad design decision.
  6. No XP for killing is a bold move. Even Arcanum and Fallout rewarded you for killing enemies. I agree with Sawyer, of course, but it seems some people are not ready for something like this
  7. It's strange that you don't remember them, some of the companions had very memorable personalities: Virgil, Magnus, Raven, Geoffrey and, of course, Worthless Mutt
  8. awshtjs Super excited about the new game, but I've gotta know! What was in Fall-from-Grace's diary!? Obsidian_Ent Chris Avellone coyly answers: Grace's secrets are her own, and not even I could crack that book.
  9. To validate playstyles equally. BBBAAARRRRPPPPP. Wrong answer. Why validate something with little risk and involves a win-button skill dump versus a massive battle? Different players prefer different playstyles. I don't like slaughtering monsters and I would rather sneak past them. Sneaking is not a 'win-button' - it requires a lot of skill (character skill and also player skill in some cases).
  10. Another interesting one about languages, and then I'll stop to avoid double-posting.
  11. Arcanum is awesome and honestly I don't remember anything bad about it. Some say that the magick system was unbalanced, but I didn't play as a mage much. Graphics was beautiful and combat decent enough (in turn-based mode). I don't usually care much about the combat in RPGs anyway. In Arcanum you had a lot to do without it: you could use stealth to avoid enemies or persuasion to talk them out of fight, pickpocket items, craft equipment (Arcanum probably had the best crafting system). Attributes and skills really mattered, and with the classless system you could make any type of character you wanted. Too bad that they don't make games like this anymore.
  12. Unity is cheaper than Onyx (Obsidian's own engine). As to why Unity specifically, I think they said that it is easy to work with. Also, Wasteland 2 uses Unity. http://www.kickstart...ty/posts/313192 http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/109792-project-eternity-interview/page-3.html
  13. Mass Effect 2 and 3? (I didn't finish the last one, but ME2 would probably fall under the definition). DAO and DA2 also had a lot of grimdark elements. Yeah, that's what I was talking about.
  14. I don't really remember because I was already half asleep in my chair (it was morning for you guys but in Moscow it was about 11PM).
  15. Honestly, I can't remember a single game where I actually liked the interface... but I can name many where I absolutely hated it. As for BG, it wasn't bad and if they just copy it, I will be fine with that. It will be better than DS3-like interface lol.
  16. A am not very thrilled about player's stronghold, but three million... this is great.
  17. I loved the ship in Drakensang 2 (they made it a player's base). Pretty cool idea, though not very original.
