  1. So I'm to be the best man at my friends wedding just outside of Mexico City come April. To which the bride-to-be, has reminded me I need to learn enough spanish to translate my best-man's speech to her family... Although the potentially nerve inducing aspect that the groom's family and friends there will most likely number around a dozen, whilst her family will potentially be in the hundreds... The joys of weddings taking place in foreign countries...
  2. For the minor rant - Modern jams/preserves you pick up from the local supermarket or chain of stores.. why the hell do they grow fur within a month of opening even if you stick them in the fridge? If I go out and pick up some olde traditional jam home made by some granny at a local church sale, they'll last for bleeding months left on the side with no problem. But modern jams? The whole fershnikt point of a jam is to preserve the damn fruit. So why the hell do they go rotten within such a short time? It's bloody crazy.
  3. Yeah, unfortunately it would have to be a spiritual successor because Sega hold the rights to AP don't they? The bastards.
  4. I have to admit, I'm half imagining an Expansion pack in the future which is purely set around a political storyline based on your stronghold... Ramping up on the potential strategic elements of a stronghold, as well as factional reactions in the surrounding areas, quests that sink more time in diplomacy and non-combat skills... Although yes, you need some combat to pace out as well, especially for characters that are much more combat focused then others...
  5. A dungeon with no story is just senseless. It's pretty much a mass cliche of badly written fantasy gaming modules.. There needs to be a history and a personality to a dungeon. A reason for why its there, and a natural progression from whatever it was built so long ago for, and what is is now and infested with monsters of all varieties. And just because they're monsters, doesn't mean they aren't intelligent and have formed there own tribes, settlements, alliances and differences with other creatures within the depths of it. Just imagine going on some fantasy archeologist quest into this lost place, and not just killing creatures but also getting involved in dialogue with them. Teaming up with the kobolds in x location to help them face the nasty x-spawn from the other, which provides you with access to another area of dungeon.. Havng the history of the place involved in lore and quest decisions as you explore and loot..
  6. "A Murderer? Trespasser? Tomb-Robber? Thief? No Milord. I'm just an Adventurer!"
  7. Well from what I've seen the whole thing is a bit of a hybridised beast. Roberts has investors, and they've been working on this for a bit now. The crowd-funding effort is a mixed bit of "getting more money in to do it" and "proof of concept" to people who are already invested in it (whether to prove they can put more money in) and/or to initiate fresh investment from other sources by showing how popular it is still.
  8. It's possible I might have been playing too much New Vegas of late. I had somewhat odd dreams of chasing an old girlfriend around some post-apocalyptic city and always just missing her whenever I arrived somewhere.... The morning start has been groggy as all get out. And the grey skies and scattering rain isn't helping any.
  9. I have to admit the whole non-kickstarter thing was something that had me wary. That and the whole "Oh yeah, if you want your money back in case we don't reach our goal, y ou have to tick an extra option and you still won't get all your money back...." Maybe now I'll pledge something. Well, in a few weeks when I hopefully have some free money again. I still need to be able to buy some groceries soon after supporting PE..
  10. I do, I need to talk to him about sorting out supplies for Fort McCarron. And Fitz is the proprietor of the Grub n Gulp, or whatever that place is called.
  11. Must admit to getting a little annoyed with one bit. It is now impossible for me to go to the Gap n Gulp, without a squad of Legion Assassin's spawning and killing Fitz. No matter which direction I try to arrive in, whether I fast travel or not, They spawn, Fitz is in the wrong place, they open fire, and he's dead before I can even shoot one of the bloody bunch.
  12. Heh, that lets you know how long it's been since i last played a complete game of FONV...
  13. So the other important question.. is it a good idea to actually finish the main games story before doing Lonesome Road? How much effect does it have on Lonesome Road's ending if you start it before the 2nd Battle of Hoover Dam?
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=58rbknKBJvc
  15. I think chronologically speaking, Lonesome Road should be played last.. I went through Honest Hearts, Dead Money, then Old World Blues.. am going to go for Lonesome Road next..
  16. Ah, but he's an English Conspiracy Nut.. You never know how an American jury will react. Too many hollywood movies with Brits as the bad guys.. I have to admit, I've known a few folks from the States who are quite schizophrenic in how they view England... One moment they're treating it all as "charming, traditional, that lovely queen" and the next its all "Rahr! Independance! Freedom! Evil England!" It can be quite bizarre
  17. Heh, what would have been amusing is to have the webcam up and running this morning to catch folks staggering in...
  18. Oh and for those who wanted to peruse it, Twitch will have the whole thing up for watching for a little bit longer. http://www.twitch.tv...ian/b/335806140 Edit: I have to admit, I'm half tempted to send a bottle of vodka to the Obsidian offices when I get some free budget with a "Compliments on the repeated Wooooo-ing that broke headphones" in a few weeks..
  19. Roberts did some statement about he wants even "less of a barrier" between the fans and him which is why he didn't go with kickstarter and set up their own pledge area.
  20. One of the points they make is that unless you tick a specific option, you won't get your money back even if they fail to make the goal. If you tick the option, you'll get the money back, minus handling fees.. so I'm guessing they take the money straight away or some such?
  21. The simple things of small programs to reverse strings or more complicated type of learning projects?
  22. There was a fair few people in just the Twitch stream, and then there was the Ustream and kickstarter comments.. so at the rapid pace they were flying by I imagine it was fairly hard to focus on many. Which unfortunately left the mass repeats of "greenshirtgirl" swamp over. There was a certain degree of comedy to some of them, but when you just had hammering of "its not a party unless there are boobs!" it did make you want to slap people. Especially when serious or interesting questions got dissapeared in the morass. Although with Twitch having put it up on the main page apparently, there seemed to be a number of folk who had no idea what Project Eternity was turning up in the stream and asking random comments about what it was, and what was going on and why were we watching people get drunk. It's kind of a shame there weren't any moderation to filter it all, even if the majority was taken with a grain of salt and in the name of general good humour. Edit: The amusing thing would be if they turned the cameras on this morning and recorded just what state everyone is in when they stagger through the offices when they turn up....
  23. Well it hit 2am here. Of course, I decided to say sod it to buying groceries this weekend and up my pledge in the last minute. Then with 10 seconds to go realised I hadn't included the "postage" fee on top so had to suddenly rush back in to do that....
