First hour or so of Far Cry Primal. Have to admit, it is a beautiful looking game.

Ah....found it. DramaFever website. Awesome. Now to immerse myself. You might want to hunt down Sars-Fansubs. They do a lot of unofficial translations and providing for download, but for various reasons it doesn't qualify as illegal torrenting or wotnot. When a Japanese or Korean drama show actually comes out on an official translatable dvd or what have you in the western world they take down the shows they've made available through fan subbing.

Hm, and Far Cry Primal is on Amazon.co.uk for only £21.50 - just for digital copy. So that's half price by all the usual places for it. Treating myself and planning to give a try at some primeval roaming and hunting.

The one thing to pay attention to with Jules Verne, is that due to various reasons, there is a large amount of badly translated books out there. In fact a lot of the original translations added pages, words, and renamed things. It's more the last quarter of a century or so that decent translations have been published, but a lot of the freely available from public domain versions are based off the original translations from back in the day rather than the more accurate recent ones.

He does kind of clock up there with H G Wells as one of the fathers of sci-fi. Plus these days he's considered fairly influential on the steampunk genre. I'm trying to ponder if you're serious about asking if anybody had heard of him, or if it's just my general case of bookworm/geek-hood that makes me think he's much more wildly known than he is.

The first Watch Dogs was pretty awesome, shame it was so underrated, for having the downgraded graphics and awful driving mechanics, it sure made up for it with its great story and hacking/tech mechanics. I think partly it was that while the hacking was an interesting experimental twist on the open world gaming concept, it didn't really have the weight to carry the whole game. That and the protagonist was a fairly unlikeable jerk. Watch Dog 2 is a bit more entertaining, pushes the humour side of things out more. But it has a certain fuzzy opening and shallow start to the story. It doesn't really kick in for story depth until you've already done about half the game. I'm not actually sure what the point of grabbing/earning cash is in the game. Apart from a couple of clothes, and picking up the quadcopter drone, I pretty much have no reason to spend it. The protagonist is a slightly geeky, caught in the works and turned hacker character who isn't a hardened and practiced killer. So it makes much more sense to use the stun gun if you do screw up the hacking side of things and can't ghost/trick your way through the majority of missions. So it's not as if you need to buy guns and ammo.

Saw that Uplay has Watch_Dogs 2 on sale for 50% and decided to splurge and pick up a copy. Going to start playing it after a bit of lunch and a fresh cup of tea.

You might not, but I do. I barely tolerate RTwP, but I adore turn-based. I'm also curious how RTwP has gotten better. What, fundamentally, has changed about it over the years? Very much this. Also, if I were to pay for it, I would show them that there is a market for RTwP RPG's, they wouldn't know or care that I immensly dislike those mechanics; They still recieved my money. I would like to put up for example, the turn based conflicts in Torment: Numenera. I would be perfectly happy with RTwP compared to the horror feeling of facing yet another Torment Numenera combat.

Tomb Raider (2013) followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider. And of course, they went the multimedia route, because Tomb Raider (2013) does Lara's first reveal that the weirdly supernatural mythological/archaeology thing exists, but does a touch of the torture porn and showcases what a hardened killer she can become.. Then they tell the story of what happens in the immediate aftermath, the recovery, plus the initial introduction of the bad guys in Rise of the Tomb Raider in a novel set between the games. I do keep meaning to pick up the Baba Yaga dlc when it's on sale at some point, but so far haven't gotten around to it.

I actually just started a replay of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Not sure what drove that mood.

I knew they'd established that for the Dark Universe that they would be doing The Invisible Man and Frankenstein, but I hadn't realised they had already cast Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man, Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster, and that they'll have Annabelle Wallis' archaeologist making an appearance in all of them.

Had one of those days where every 5 minute job spiralled out due to complications, the back room where we've been storing a lot of mom's stuff as we've been sorting it and getting rid has been discovered to be swarming with carpet moths, one of the Enchantica dragons I was given years ago got knocked off the side and shattered into half a dozen pieces, and I had to fill out and send off various application forms. Fun. Now I am debating whether to pick up the Cyberpunk 2020 set that Bundle of Holding are offering at the moment...
