  1. Does self defense include beating the living tar out of a guy 60 lbs lighter with a baseball bat while wearing armor because he said "I'm gonna get ya!"? Because that is basically the war in iraq in a nutshell... militarily they would do better with harsh language. Aesop The Frog and the Lion. "either less noise or more size" Self preservation should tell one when to shut up.
  2. Found these on another site, haven't tested.
  3. Not likely without added textures. Question for everyone out there, does anyone knows what the +seekfreepackage lines are for?. They are in the Defaultengine.ini
  4. Not only would be rendered futile if found but it would kill the idea altogether since the next protest would dismissed. Plus it only leaves a short list of causes for protest that actually make sense. Pepsi vs Cola, who would actually protest that? Cola wins hands down.
  5. I'm beginning to think that all these complaints about graphics are actually over the textures loading in the middle of the game.
  6. @Oner: That still doesn't change the fact that aside from nostalgia or curiosity, there is not much reason to go back and revisit them. Or in the case of the younger generation, to actually play them through. @Nightshape: Let's not argue semantics, shooters have had isometric or linear views. FPS won't have a turn based system. @Mammoulian: They are a dying breed, which is a shame. I do love old school JRPGs
  7. I did and afterwards it was non responsive. Also a new one, the mysteriously appearing enemy that pops out of nowhere even when you have master awareness.
  8. Yep. Sadly, you, me, and a handful of cranky old gits don't count for much. I think it's more of a change in the dynamics of developing than in the demand. Let's face it gamers will eat whatever shiny new crap comes next (I mean this with utmost respect possible) So there is not much need for change on part of the publisher and is easier for them to get on the wagon with a tried concept. In this matter a shift on perspective will do more good than anything.
  9. Bulls**t. Alien shooter, and Alien Breed Impact... Are a couple of isometric shooters that spring to mind. If you make a shooter turn based, you get something like Jagged Alliance, which is also isometric. I wouldn't call those games shooter that would be like saying that Fallout was a shooter, just because you could aim a gun. They are called FPS for a reason. @Oner: what you say did cross my mind but the fact of the matter is that those movies are still available, either by re-release on another format or on an archive. The same is not done with games that I know of, even with the emulators there is few people interested on old games. With cinema there is a formalization of what caused changed and it's studied, a movie that may have been relevant at the time because of it's special effects may still be relevant to someone studying cinematography. Games are different, that structure is not yet present.
  10. Fight with Omen Deng; on the construction the zip line didn't respond had to reload and go through it again.
  11. Ehm... ever seen Pocahontas or Avatar??? now say again that technology does not change in movies... And Doom comletely destroys Half-Life 2 in gameplay, fun, multiplayer and replayability... Whilst movies also are technology driven they can do without, you can have a good movie without much technology. Making a good game with outdated tech is harder. The Godfather is a movie that transcends generational differences, others are landmarks in special effects or cinematography. Games are different because: 1-The hardware becomes outdated after a few years and actually playing these classics is difficult. 2-As the technology progresses some things are left behind, e.g. Isometric view is not widely used in RPG's as it was once, mostly because graphic generator have improved. 3-Classic games are different from classic movies. StarWars, Aliens, and Jaws are movies that feature a lot special effects yet they don't become out dated because of the way in what they were used elevates them. Classic games fade out into the memories of fans after a few console generations pass. Relating to my previous point; Cinema is less "fixed" you can mix and use different techniques and style and make a quality story. Games are less versatile, a shooter or action game won't have a isometric view, or have turn based systems.
  12. You are talking about movies, can't you seriously think of games that help your case? The problem with the game "classics" is that they go over the heads of almost everyone, so is left up to the cult following. The problem with game classics is the hardware, there is emulators and re-releases but I feel that the next generation that picks up a Mario game for the first time and goes back to the original won't feel the same as I did. Some games are timeless yet other classics are bound to be lost because of generational differences.
  13. Ah, yeah Peter's great attempt at a simulated life in which you get the same amount of pleasure from conceiving a kid that you get for killing it. Peter did promise that we will be able to kill them, didn't he?
  14. Unless is a video of Olivia Munn covered in baby oil it is not relevant to my interests.
  15. I thought of something for ME. Even if they had no romance options or anything, they could jimmy it by saying that Liara got pregnant from the constant connections she made with Shepard to figure out the prothean beacons. Or you could do without an imaginary kid. Aside from BG can anyone recall a series with the PC having a child, during the game?
  16. This won't happen until we have a foreign threat to deal with. Like Aliens, or zombies.. Is a really funny thing that you think so. A common enemy only means an alliance of convenience and for the duration of that enemy, remember Russia and the U.S. during WWII. The only thing that ends wars like that is conquest.
  17. Laughed at this one: guard took cover on pillar next to a explosive barrel. Blew the barrel the guy was blown off and suddenly he floated back to his cover position, unharmed. Can't fight those odds.
  18. Excuse me, but... You have no way of knowing this, and all this argument does is make you look like a ****. This is the internet, people are anonymous. You have no way of knowing what he has or has not done, and all you're doing right now is spewing unfounded ad-hominem to try to attack credibility, except you can't attack credibility over the internet because no one has any to begin with. Stop this crap. Even if were to ignore the glaring problem of an anonymous medium for the debate, your expectations are ridiculous - you can't honestly refuse to accept any argument in favor of communism unless the person arguing has actually run a communist nation. That's just idiotic. Edit: I can't believe that word is censored. Yet that doesn't stop us from stereotyping and wildly guessing based only on the facts that LoF: has an internet connection, and that his fervent belief on communism comes in no way from experiencing a regime. But we should really get back to NK.
  19. Strange, considering that most of his children were fathered by other men.
  20. Why did they had to put it over my home?
