Why should they? Because every five minutes there is some complain about the children; which really is a lingo for faceless political mass. At least in public schools the government should set a more strict curriculum. On the subject of American's opinions: You are not going to be able to make everyone agree but this is a vital issue that should not be left to be discussed. The USA always asks for the "Disney" solution, a fairy that's going to wave a wand and make all the problems go away.

The problem here is more of a lack of cohesion on the national level. Sure democracy and free speech is great, but American schools have no solid base and they shouldn't be indoctrinating them before they have a certain amount of knowledge. By that same process I see the whole Senior High School bit as dispensable, I still can't put in my head that Cuba has better education that a world superpower. Things like theology have no place in a Kid's schools classroom, simply because there is no consensus about it, nor any facts and it's not the school's right to tell people what to believe. Evolution on the other hand is a widely accepted idea that provides a good starting point into the subject, even if is not completely proven it can put perspective to the matter and allow for an interest to grow. Basically all of America should start to agree in what a good starting point for a subject is and not whether one is more correct than another. That's just going to create confusion.

We can now programme cells with entirely artificial DNA

On Communism: I don't that Communism is a cause of poverty rather a consequence. The proletariat is comprised of the poor and uneducated is most likely that a country that is already poor and has these people by the dozen will become a Communist country. With Cuba being the only exception that I know of. On to thread: Change for the better is easier to adapt to, the worse I've seen is people developing a sort of passive resistance to it. But this is up to the individual's level of adaptability and this is what will determine who thrives and who falls after drastic changes. What is most worrying is not the speed of this change but it's nature. This is genetic manipulation, if the ground rules for the ethical research are not set now the future may actually be in peril. I imagine that first would be the research on viruses and cancer, then on to improve the quality of life, then synthetic materials for all purposes from space exploration to pharmaceutics. This is the point were I begin to concern, this is all based on the chance that we actually master the "programming" of life and are able to write up as we see fit. Standing on the brink of such power, how do we stop from making a bad choice? -

This isn't sci fi, it's real life. For that matter sci fi has been declining since Kindred. -
The best DRM that I've have seen is the "release the PC version a week later"

Why do you assume that immortality would lead to longer presidential terms? What's more this technology is still far away from drastically changing humans, since most of the human genome's function remain a mystery. I doubt that this will cause a technological boom that will sweep the face of the earth, it's more likely that the changes will be gradual allowing for adaptation and easing further use of this technology. On the other hand why must you be so negative? -

Gattaca Gattaca! Truly though, it could be the next great revolution. Completely virgin grounds with extensive applications, from the improvement of the already existing to the creation of something completely new. -
North Korea attacks and sinks South Korean ship, killing 46 people
Orogun01 replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
True, but we shouldn't focus on Korea as a whole and more on Kim Jong. Take out the head and ensure that the proper succession follows. -
Will it though? Who then takes the first step and decides not to run with it anymore? Seems to me that your hated Euro is going to remain for a little while longer. Plus the more it drops the better, I've been meaning to take a vacation in Europe anyways.

North Korea attacks and sinks South Korean ship, killing 46 people
Orogun01 replied to Humodour's topic in Way Off-Topic
If NK sunk ships on a monthly basis is bound to hit some that aren't SK. Plus there is the whole other aspect of them kidnapping people because they represent a "threat" to them, IIRC you posted about a journalist that was in one of their prisons. Let's say that there is another case like that and doesn't end well, how do you think that the international community will respond to that? NK is bordering between being the world's annoying neighbor and a genuine danger. -

Yeah, but the Chinese don't seem all that interested and I have to question the effectiveness of talking to Kim Jong. So maybe we are in a Cold War with NK that's just waiting to happen, with more of these antics it won't be long before they actually do something that would cause a war. -
You mean Kali because Shiva is a man.

Their threats definitively are not empty. They have 5000 artillery pieces trained on Seoul, let alone their missiles, nukes and whatnot. They can effectively level Seoul any time they want and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop them. For all the lol North Korea haha rofl from the west to try and make people think it isn't a problem everyone in power knows that it is and that there is precisely nothing that can be done. I haven't read the report (I probably will if it is made publicly available) but I'm at the point where I wouldn't believe the western "intelligence" community if they said the sky was blue. The problem with exerting that kind of force is that renders deterrence useless and then there is nothing stopping the rest of the world coming full strength on them. -
You need to step up on the psychotic ladder, just don't get to where LoF is. No coming back!

He kills a couple of heroes (Which is par for the course) And, of course, sleeps with Aphrodite. Still they should have spent more time making kratos seem a BIT sympathetic at the beginning of the game. Why are you discussing the story? Just look at the gore wave your tongue and forget about the plot holes. Ps.On GOW IV you tackle hindu mythology with over 100,000 deities to kill. Have fun. After he killed them, wouldn't they just reincarnate? I forgot that Hindu life is an endless loop. Seriously though there is still a lot of Chtonic deities, primordial deities and personified concepts to murder and bang. The first 3 games just skimmed over the vastness that is Greek mythology. Plus the ending of the 3 left a lot open to interpretation and a possible comeback.

Can you create an entirely new face?
Orogun01 replied to Brako's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Doing balancing, tweaking the lighting, waiting for SEGA to set a new release date, according to the interviews. You know whats a shame (spart from not being able to create a custom face of course) is that as good a company SEGA are for delivering qaulity consoles and games, there marketing tactics/timing is terrible. Alpha Protocol could end up being one of the best games of the year, but barely anyone is going to buy it because of the release of Red Dead Redemption. Instead most are going to come across it when its on sale for -
So your argument is that we knew about it and did nothing to stop it, therefore all those dead are on our heads. There is a difference in being a bystander not wanting to be drag into a war and a murderer that indiscriminately kills thousands. I'm amazed that you didn't mention Pinochet.

Arguably this change started two-three years prior to FISTFUL OF DOLLARS as Michael Carras' 'Savage Gun aka Tierra brutal introduced a different take on the American tradition often considered the prototype for the Spaghetti Western. A British-Spanish coproduction it featured a anti-hero gun-for-hire (played by Richard Basehart) and was the first to use Almeria, Spain as its location (where many Spaghetti Western films were made). That said Fistful of Dollars clearly is what popularized a particular type of western in Europe and changed how the US saw and made westerns (although, even there people like Sam Pekinpah had began changing the western in the US famously fighting both US TV and film producers in the late 50s and early 60s) I love how you know all these movie facts, you must be a movie trivia champ. There is usually one that's the true innovator and one that popularizes the concept. While we are on the westerners subject, I wouldn't mind seeing a few remakes of obscure spaghetti western movies. 3:10 to Yuma was a pretty decent movie, we should get them to do Django.

Well.. that could actually work. A rundown school with two main "cliques" .. the lone transfer student who gets moved in and starts to manipulate the social events... A Fistful of Dollars was inspired by Yojimbo which was in turn inspired by a novel that was set in a prohibition era town in New Mexico... So technically the version that Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken did that was inspired by Fistful of Dollars..... was closer to the original concept.. Maybe it was, but they didn't have Akira Kurosawa directing and starred Toshiro Mifune. Plus Fistful of Dollars reinvented the good gunfighter image from the cut clean law abiding (completely unrealistic) to the now more popular scruffy morally grey but good guy. That, and I can't see Christopher Walken without thinking of cowbells.

Was it deliberate, like the purges? Answer is no, your argument is invalid.

Best preview yet of Alpha protocol

That actually begs the question... how representative is he of the general public's gaming skills at large? =/ speak for yourself Are you stating that you are an accurate representation of the general public's gaming skill then? Not sure why you felt compelled to respond when it's easy to infer that 213374U was not referring to you. I'm part of the general public, I'm I not? -
They removed it, Youtube is really anal these days. Anyway, unless they do a 180 I see them going down this road. Their last two AAA releases didn't met expectations and with the amount of money spent on promotion I say that's a significant loss.
