  1. Get a lifeboat and get out of a sinking ship? OTOH a gig is a gig.
  2. Even though that makes sense if they just singled out the Russians if would be seen as discrimination and there credibility as a reliable investment country would be effected. Also the Russians own about 30 % of all the money in the banks in Cyprus so they wouldn't want to annoy them. What has been suggested is a tax on any deposit over 100k Euros. So that shouldn't impact the average person On the other hand a lot of the Russian that invest in Cyprus are rumored to be either involved with shady dealings or with the government (or both) so they aren't likely to make much fuss if they fear any backlash from the Russian government. Of course, that is sort of an educated guess.
  3. Good that you are aware of the double standard that is human pride, even though the thought of humanity as being inherently noble is a pipe dream.
  4. Maybe its just me, but that doesn't seem to be out of the norm. Modern popular critical thought seems to boil down to snark and clever one-liners. The sad part is that discourse today is less about presenting ideas with rhetoric and more about one liners, catchy catchphrases and overall just being an ass.
  5. This thread is turning me gay.
  6. If someone makes a ****ty remake of the LoK series I'm blaming you. It's bad enough that they turned Thief into some edgy action game.
  7. @Raithe: I haven't cried laughing in a while, thanks for posting that.
  8. Drawing is like training for a marathon, you should start by building resistance and drawing a little more each day. Doesn't matter what, but eventually you will get a lot of practice, you will be able to get through the basic steps faster and draw for longer periods of time. If you having trouble getting yourself on the right mindset because there are other things you want to do then remove those temptations and give yourself no other choice but to draw.
  9. Dear bot, Congratulations at winning your own game, everyone now hates you.
  10. You're wrong, the free market is a detriment to healthcare as they often abuse the necessity of their products to hike up the price. Products which you can get from third world countries at relative null values. They also keep most people away from the doctor for checkups since they are an unnecessary cost and can ultimately lead to people putting off their doctors for too long until it's too late. The problem is that most people can't afford a good insurance and insurances are notorious for skimping out on cost as are hospitals for charging for the most measly things at an overprice. So do consider consumer habits and their causes before you place the blame solely on the consumers, if medicine wasn't a necessary good hospitals would had changed their practices already. But they seem to have a moral vacuum when it comes to realizing that they are not providing a service, they are preying on people's misery.
  11. I think that after watching one of the videos that Calax posted I have a clearer idea of why I don't like them. They don't know what they are talking about; they have the simplistic approach to problem and problem solving that every layman has. So instead of showing what they actual people who have an insider's view into the industry think the industry could be, what direction is moving towards and how to get it on the track to progress, they give opinions. The worst part is that they appear to make sense, in the same way that whenever facing a problem asking "Why don't we fix it?" makes sense. Yet they offer no real insight or solutions, so I can't really say that they offer anything of value to the observer be them insider or laymen.
  12. They are pretentious, self absorbed and accommodators which end up taking the high middle ground of non compromising for fear of offense. Which in turned makes me believe less in their opinion since it's not actually theirs. I actually don't see much difference between them and other opinionated bloggers. BTW, do they actually report on actual issues that the industry currently faces or do they just give their arbitrary opinion on what the industry should be?
  13. I always found Rand to be a heavily biased philosopher, so much as to say that she could give Plato a run for his money on that aspect. The experiences she had in Russia made her adopt this distorted, romantic view of capitalism and I disliked her views on ethics which felt that was just there for the sake of completion. All in all, not a big fan.
  14. Can you perhaps explain why there's a surge in recent mergers? e.g: MetroPCS and T-Mobile. Or the recent philosophy of Too Big to Fail?
  15. They made the disastrous decision to go to Vietnam in the first place, they ran the war in the most improper way possible and they are for all intents the leaders. They bask in the victories and they take all the blame. Ultimate responsibility.
  16. Who has told you that being a man was easy? I didn't say that they wouldn't have problems, the difference being that a man solves his problems. So they may not get better but they at least can carry their cross with some dignity and look past to keep on living. On the possibility of betterment of mental conditions I quote Vyse from SoA: "Impossible is just a word to help people feel good about themselves when they quit" Once they stop using their condition as an excuse and start making changes in their lives they'll realize that's not impossible to have a good life. On another note; they should just rename ADD to American Deficit Disorder as it seem that's the mindless consumerism and modern lifestyle that seems to be the main cause.
  17. And it would seem that you've answered your own question, correctly I might add. Another reason that they'll vote for the Left is because the Left is interested in showing its--*AHEM*--moral superiority through the enlightened values of tolerance and multi-culturalism. The Right would, quite sensibly, tell the damned Third Worlders to shape up or go back where they came from and that's not something that the Third Worlders care to hear. Personally, I'd begin the mass deportations immediately and shoot dead any who resisted. These people have no interest in becoming Swedes--embracing your ways and mores; rather, they wish to intimidate and come to dominate Sweden. This is nothing less than an invasion by a hostile people and should be treated as such. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to call your credentials into question, because I really can believe that someone from Michigan knows more about Sweden than someone from Stockholm.
  18. So, everyone should just the man the **** up? Quit being an ass. And quit trying to put words in my mouth. I don't know why everyone reacts negatively to telling someone to "man the **** up". It seems to me that the soft approach never makes anyone realize their situation or how pathetic it is. If their problem is just immaturity, then growing up its exactly what they need to do and if they have an actual condition then they should just be men and just get it under control. So really, the best advice you can give someone is to just man the **** up. BTW, does anyone know how the rates of ADD compare between the sexes? It always seems that every case is male but I don't know if that's just stereotyping.
  19. So, everyone should just the man the **** up?
  20. So the problem isn't child with ADD but immature adults?
  21. I noticed that you failed to address the actual issue. If we assume that a margin for error has been left to account for the variables that you mention, do you or do you not believe that games cause ADHD? What was the actual issue? Whether games cause ADHD or not.
