  1. Considering that they have published games with unreasonable deadlines I don't think time management is their problem.
  2. Why skip 3? Also don't watch 5 it blows. Edit: Holy Crap! Paul Rudd is on Halloween 6.
  3. Spend the day modelling a 3d sculpt that looks a lot like Henry Rollins while listening to Abba. Happy Halloween!
  4. I'm still waiting to see how their "Dwarf Fortress" pans out then I'll decide. If you mean Spacebase, I would already say yes. The early access alpha is still really, really short on content, but I have played it over 9 hours according steam anyway. I'd take that as a good sign. Ok, I'll trust your judgment.

  6. This is fairly common throughout the games industry that hours can be pretty extreme. I know a lot of places are trying to get better at it, but like there was the #RyzeFacts thing that happened earlier where people were getting on the dev for coming across as being proud of supplying over 10,000 crunch meals (and I agree that that isn't something to be proud of). All of the crunch (maybe 10-20 days in the last 2 years) I have worked on DAI so far, though, has been voluntary (i.e. I really wanted to get some stuff done because my plan for how long it'd take for me to get some tasking done wasn't accurate). I don't mind doing it because I don't do it much, and it's because I want to help make the game be really good. I could make more money elsewhere (especially in Oil rich Alberta), but I am still very comfortably compensated and frankly the work culture (I got randomly high fived by people in the hallway because they actually know who Ryu is) and so forth is just more enjoyable for me. My point was just that if anyone wants to hold EA to the fire for its sweatshop, I think people are being a bit discriminating in how they apply their concern for the poor workers. I think most of the first hand accounts of bad conditions at EA come from workers from the Tiburon division, from project mismanagement to being woken in the middle of the night and asked to come to the office. Some odd and aggravating behavior but nothing as systematic as the conditions of a workshop
  7. Mine is often described as " are you a pedophile?"
  8. Yeah, I get it. I often wish that all those guys who wish for the entire industry to die would have their industries die, have to re-specialize, take new classes, see the life their built crumble around them. Do you even know what you're wishing for? Plus, its a little pissy to have such an exaggerated reaction to someone making games that you don't like. Can't you wish for more of the games you like instead of pissing one everyone else's fun?
  9. What, all the other RPGs are not Roll Playing Games? What do you have against Constantly Rolling Playing Games?
  10. There is a level of civility that hysterics lose by means of their outrage, if she thought it inappropriate she could had just said so in a polite manner. Most situations are likely better handled through communication and if that fails at least you can proceed with further actions knowing that you tried.
  11. I think Oby is you Monte..it makes sense on many levels, despite the attempts at speaking Russian the odd British jingoism seems to slip into his posts Yes !!! Oby is Monte ....it makes sense !!! Or Wals...maybe Raithe, or it could really be a crazy Russian on the other side of web but I like to leave the mystery with its charms. Really, if I find out Oby is some greasy Russian who lives in a basement I will be disappointed.
  12. The moral of the story is don't interact with women, stick to sluts, whores, and floozies.
  13. Because they are the cancer that is killing RPG genre. Daily Reminder that there were crappy RPGs before EA and are likely to be after EA.
  14. "I Have No Time And I Need to Play I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" The new game by GOG
  15. I think it's a smart idea to work out - sounds like it could be a natural drop in testosterone? That pretty much feels like loosing one's "edge". Ok, so this might be crazy, but I did have a vasectomy last year. Coincidence? This seems relevant. http://youtu.be/-YWyZG_vII8 Edit: How the hell you embed video in these forums, argh. ReEdit: Ok I figured it out.
  16. Yes. I was using the terms that the poster before me was using. The upgrade is actually called "Forum" in-game. Any chance for a fan's graveyard, a la Arcanum?
  17. Ohhh, homework sounds fun. What about?
  18. Nonsense, this is an Oby thread so long as we complain about Western capitalist corruption every few post we are still on point. SO; when will bourgeois, libertarian Maria Caliban deign to answer or call? Typical Capitalist.
  19. Give it this test, go down to the nearest rollercoaster and ride it and if midway through you don't get a smirk in your face either your loved ones have been kidnapped into a hellish dimension or you have a chemical imbalance. Or just try to change something in your daily routine that might be monotony that you're experiencing and not depression. Oh, wait...your Location is in Cyrillic; yep you're depressed but you're in Eastern Europe so I guess that's normal?
  20. Maria is a Social Justice Warrior? I've always thought she was a bit contemptuous and had the superpower to be the first poster on a question thread, to which she promptly answers shattering the poster as a bug; her avatar fits her.
  21. Ditto on the boss fights and to my disappointment the game just bludgeons from Tong's Rescue to the Missing Link, they even kept the recap. I'm still wondering if I get to keep the praxis points I've gained.
  22. I see something similar expressed whenever someone suggests that a game is aiming for a 'Call of Duty' audience or enjoyed primarily by console kiddies. Or discussion about the Witcher series. Alternatively, if I said I watched the Hunger Game movies or read the books, I can't imagine another woman thinking it odd I'm reading something aimed at teenage girls. The specific series might not rate highly with her, but there's no constant measurement of maturity involved. Likewise, for plays (67% of the audience is women) there might be a discussion of which plays are really good and which are bad, but there's no discussion about which plays are immature. The constant need to evaluate a works adultfulness is something I mostly see in regards to video games, science fiction and fantasy novels, comics, and movies that are aimed at men. Competition is more explicit among men because of a biological imperative, women on the other hand reinforce group dynamics through more passive aggressive means. EG: shunning, gossip, accessorizing or just plain antagonizing.
  23. But the Batman gave us Rastafarian Joker, you can't beat that or the Dracula episode; It's like the "Batman and Robin" of animation.
  24. "Apathy is death" I think I left behind Michael Moore since I tend to find inflammatory rhetoric distasteful nowadays, he always assumes his position is the moral high ground and starts preaching from it. I think I would find him more appealing if he actually bothered to do documentaries presenting all angles from an issue, whenever a subject is clearly just or immoral there is no need for preaching as the story tells itself. But rather than actual reporting Michael Moore seems to just stand in front of places, screaming until he is asked to leave the premises and he is lead away with a smug look on his face as if that proved his point. If his point were that he is annoying then I guess he has reason to be smug.
  25. The void was great but Pathologic really needed fast travel or at least better movement speed.
