The Weak & Unimagined Undead in Modern RPGs
Curses! I've been saving up thought-power all YEAR for that plan! It was to be my masterpiece! Now I am ruined! RUINED I say! T_T (We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.) How do you exercise ghosts/spirits? Is there like a workout routine for the undead like Zombie Zumba or something?

Corruption
That's one of the things I like about Avellone's approach to writing companions, they all are representative of the main themes of the story.

Then I shall serve you tea with the finest of breast milks and see if that doesn't change your mind. No drinking from the tap though.

I'm I the only one that isn't hoping PE will be the fodder for adolescent power fantasies? No offense intended to anyone.

The Weak & Unimagined Undead in Modern RPGs
The undead are just suffering from the same dry spell of creativity that has hit most fictional works since the industrial age. Writers just have a defined archetypes and just reimagine them to suit the needs of their story. So when it comes to certain elements they may find it difficult to part from the popular notion while they are trying to redefine them.

playing "evil"
There are 2 issues with creating "scheming" options in video games, how the information is presented and how players have been conditions. Most players take in game choices at their face value because there is usually no follow through. Saving a farm will probably not be the first step in a master plan to gain the support of the populace on your bid to become king, because the game doesn't allow you to. So it is hard for the developers to convey that quest resolutions will lead you on a path towards an ultimate goal and its hard for gamers to conceive such a thing because they're not used to it. Because the most scheming you see allowed on a game is the "betrayal" questlines where you turn to the other side of the conflict and it goes back to the main plot.

Things that now sound evil
There is absolutely nothing evil about any event where you're drinking tea. Just because it's a refined drink, and not as uncivilised as instant coffee... But if tea is better than coffee and instant coffee is better than instant tea does that mean that: Tea>Coffee>Instant coffee> Instant Tea> Starbucks?

playing "evil"
I wonder why people become so obsessed with morality in Video Games? I suppose that it's part of the immersion and all but it seems that every time an RPG is released there will be a thread talking about an evil playthrough and the merits of roleplaying evil characters. So its curious as to why this aspect rises above the rest.

About exp gain and different playstyles
Well, the sort of player who enjoys finding nonviolent solutions is probably going to need that gear more when he actually does get into a fight, because his character is likely to be built with less focus in combat skills. And there will be unavoidable combat in this game. You get the same amount of combat-oriented talents, regardless of what you spend your skills. There are no characters with an increased utility function at the expense of combat abilities. Technically you could create said character but that means it was your fault.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Well, you weren't around so we had to do with what was available.I know of Citizens United granting them the same rights as individuals, had you something else in mind. Come on now man! Do some lawyering or else us amateurs are going to keep speculating. Look up legal personality. I cba to look into the specifics of class actions, especially as this appears to be based on lex specialis. Hopefully one of my American colleagues will know more about the particulars, of there are some limitations in the act. Short version, a corporation is (and has been for a long time) a person in the eyes of the court, hence retarded decisions like giving them absurd "rights" based on it, too. Ok, I just finished some brushing up on the subject and you were right. It's apparently been going on (at least in the US) from as early as 1938. Also there has been precedent of corporations suing each other, so in my amateur opinion this will likely go to court unless they settle.

Josh Sawyer interview: on combat, companions and character building
Bards are underpowered in every game they're in. Ever tried playing a bard in BG1? They're worthless. I remember playing a pretty awesome bard on NWN2 and its expansions, there's also a few power builds that feature the bard on that game. Just how many games have you tried to play as a bard?
