From what I understand, the reshoots were to add a bunch more Keanu Reeves, because originally he wasn't a major character. So basically the movie is a reshoot?

Based on your examples you could more adequately change wisdom to belief or willpower and avoid misunderstandings. -
HP Lovecraft was an arse - EVERYONE ROLL FOR SAN LOSS!

I learned a lot Brit slang from that post. I rather that insanity is implemented through a curve having it's ups and downs rather than an incline (or decline) and deterioration only affects the range, meaning that your top level crazy is now even crazier. Also are you guys playing online or doing sessions or what?- 54 replies

Maybe its just me, but if your diety of choice is offering you everlasting life in their realm if you burn your world down, I think it'd be wise from your perspective to do it. That others might find it incredibly unwise lies conflict, but your own faith and understanding of that faith is going to drive you to do bad things. Mind you my experience with D&D, very few of the evil dieties want utter destruction of everything; they want enough destruction to drive the survivors to them. Part of the issue is that wisdom is undefined in most RPGs, so its left to interpretation which is largely colored by the archetype of the wise old man. Largely I find that wisdom in RL comes with a level of introspection that undermines any violent tendencies. I think there is a separation between personal wisdom and personal ethics or beliefs, so I still can contend that a high wis character might not be an adamant supporter of an unwise philosophy. That reminds me, I should do a SJW paladin character that fights for equal rights. -
"Makes as much sense as repeating the same tired stuff from the other side of the fence tbh. I know I don't get wound up because of them, for one." No

Nonsense, the spirit stuff will save the potentially more interesting human conflicts by making it seem that BW didn't develop them enough. Instead of making a game centered around political intrigue and coming up short, basically BW needs to shift between two storylines to keep the focus moving so that their thin story isn't put to scrutiny. It has been that way since BG. Also, Volo is saying "No" a lot recently and it's just that; no elaboration. I think his spring is loosening who was supposed to keep him winded?

I thought about that as well and I agree it does put a burden on the GM. The best answer I could come up with was custom descriptions to each player; kind of like the tale of the blind men and the elephant. They get a full picture with imperfect information based on their collective delusion. Schizophrenics might get false information(monster in room), delusions (you killed the monster), or paranoia (you don't know if the monsters are real). While OCD might get prioritized information such as the organization of the room, the smell, how dirty it is, and then see the monster in the room. I remember that the World of Darkness implemented something similar with different clans having to pass checks on their conditions in order to have successful rolls.- 54 replies

Spill your blasphemous opinions on CRPGs here

It also won't be close to hardcore because Obsidian would like more than a couple score thousand people to play the game. I think you're being too kind, if it was hardcore it would be reduced to hundreds. I really don't get people who like a grueling experience where the game mechanics work against you. -
Quick Question about computer upgrades

You should check to see if it won't clash with the rest of your rig, if it's the same age as your card it might get you into trouble down the line. I remember having a few video cards burn out because the rest of the rig wasn't up to par. -

Wals how would you feel about the concept of insanity that it's unknown to the player? In RL a lot of mentally unstable people have no idea or a diminished awareness of their condition. It simply makes no sense to me that the player should have perfect information about their condition, for roleplaying purposes it would be interesting to see them try to figure out what's wrong with their character and try different strategies. On a related note, decay mechanics are absurd, slowly prevent any chance of success and turn out to be counter-intuitive since you can only play the game saddled with a dynamic time limit.- 54 replies

I never really understood Wisdom. It's like DC saying Will is an emotion. It can be if you pass a Willpower check. -

Not really a CRPG opinion but: Tales of Symphonia is overrated and nowhere near being the best entry on the series. -
