  1. The sick thing is that 90% of us Obsidian board members will probably join up there as soon as it opens. The Interplay forums will live again!!1
  2. I've seen a few Tarkovski movies. Stalker wasn't too bad and Ivan's Childhood was kind of neat. But it takes some getting used to, learning how to watch those classic russian movies.
  3. I listen to the commentators. You know, like how they tell you who has the puck, who scored the goal and such..?
  4. Yeah, I can sit still in front of an entire movie.. If falling asleep in front of them also counts
  5. http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=31263 Although they've had an adress change since then. I still read it.
  6. No, but 1 goal 1 assist is at least a fall forward. Unfortunately the referees seem determined to hand the Leafs yet another late loss. They keep handing out really weird penalties to the Leafs, and they are.. uh they were playing 3 against 5 and they just let in the 3-4 goal.. Still in the lead but not for long if the refs keep this up. Edit: I think the refs got a bad conscience or something, because in the last minutes of the game they gave Tampa Bay some really unfair penalties too. The referees are not very good in the NHL. Maybe they should start using international referees?
  7. This is the reason we had the discussion about the next generation consoles: are they really worth upgrading your console for $300-400 and then start buying games for $50 instead of $40? There should be something else than graphical improvements in the games for it to be worth it, which is where we're disagreeing. Epiphany is saying that multi-core CPU's and the Xenos (GPU) are groundbreaking, while (basically) the rest of the boards says they're not.
  8. Why does it seem like my posts are disappearing sometimes..? Am I drunk?
  9. Sundin makes a comeback tonite! It'll be fun.. TO HEAR! *grumble*
  10. Duh. We weren't exactly fighting over who should get the review copy of this.. Guess I should have at least asked for it.
  11. So you're saying you can find more sequels with higher grades than their original on IMDB than I can find original movies with higher grades than their sequels on IMDB? YOU'RE ON! Or.. if you don't want to be embarrassed as usual, you can skip that part and admit that you're talking out of your butt again. Or just come up with yet another lame excuse. Your choice.
  12. Strangely enough (well, not so strange really, if you think about it) the sequels tend to be better than the original when it comes to computer games, while it's the other way around in the movies.
  13. You might be right. But unfortunately that says a lot more about the quality of roleplaying in Bioware games than it does about Jade Empire. I mean, if a 'RPG' with crappy combat, shoot'em up sequences (which were crappy too), no real inventory and really meaningless skills are the best that Bioware can produce.. Not a good sign for the entire RPG market in general. I agree that Jade Empire had good dialogue trees, good characters and a decent (albeit overused) story, but that's just not good enough. I wouldn't even consider Jade Empire to be what I think the thread starter considers a western RPG. Jade Empire is just another decent (but overrated by reviewers) game that got decent sales.. which it deserved. I still don't think the western RPG's are dying. They are in a deep slump, but sooner or later a real quality game will come along (one that will sell more than 600k..) and revive the genre, like has happened several times already throughout the short history of computer games. Who knows, maybe Obsidian will be the ones to do it when they get to work on their own project? Personally I believe that western RPG's as we know them might be about to change. But I wouldn't call it dying; I'd call it evolving. Developers are experimenting by mixing genres, and some blends work, others don't. They'll learn from their mistakes though, and as they do, RPG's evolve into something else. I don't mind, as I prefer realtime combat, first- or third person view and a lot of the other things modern games have been blessed with. As long as I feel it's still a RPG of sorts, I'll adapt and be happy. Edit: Changed the wording in a sentence.
  14. Sundin will play on Saturday against Tampa Bay. He will wear a visor this time..
  15. Edit: Uh.. Ok, so they're not really admins.. and the language may be a bit.. harsh.. but still
  16. Or maybe something big is coming up and they're expecting a huge influx of new members.. Maybe they're about to announce Project New Jersey?
  17. Bah, all Sticky Note Man is good for is attracting flies. DUCT TAPE MAN for teh win!!1
  18. I don't have it, nor did I play it. But a reviewer from another gaming site wrote a comment underneath my Quake 4 review saying that Call of Duty 2 was the game to spend your money on instead of Quake 4. Call of Duty 2 is easily the FPS of the month, according to him.
  19. Pretty intense last two minutes of the Leafs - Hurricanes game at least. Just too bad the Leafs always seem to draw the short end of the stick. The Leafs are in such a bad state I don't even think the return of Sundin will remedy this.
  20. I went to a combined 5 game press showing by EA today.. Let me just say this: pray TO ALL GODS AVAILABLE that EA's business model isn't going to take over the entire gaming world. 5 games so dumbified I was about to start crying after 3 hours. When 5 hours had gone I cancelled all my developer interviews and just went home. There was nothing I could have said to those developers without sounding bitter and mean. "Sellouts", "Soulless factory workers" and "Stupifiers" kept entering my mind.
  21. Alfredsson 1.. (1 more to go for my prediction!) Leafs - Hurricanes 2-2 Oilers - Red Wings 2-2 We're doing good so far (knock on wood)!
  22. This is complete bs. I work as a newswriter for a gamesite and there have been NO official pressreleases about Dragon Age for well over a year. Probably longer (I didn't care to search any further back). If there's "LOTS" of info about Dragon Age (outside your own mind), care to share it with everyone else? A link perhaps? Edit: Checked the Previews page on Bioware's own homepage. They're all from May 2004.. And the Dragon Age FAQ is not really a FAQ, but more of an early ad for the game.
  23. Are you kidding me?! A gigantic, thunderous mega hammer in one hand and the adamantium claws of Wolverine in the other PLUS (if that wasn't enough) more tight spandex than any human mind can endure! I've never seen a more deadly and ruthless super hero before in my life!!
  24. I was just about to write something inflammatory, witty and clever, when the presence of tarna ruined my mood
  25. I was thinking to myself that Toronto's task of facing off against Carolina on away ice is quite a challenge.. until I saw that the Oilers are having to deal with Detroit on away ice Sundin will probably not play until Saturday or Sunday though. Sooner than expected but not soon enough! Anyhow, I'm just glad that Toronto aren't the ones playing Ottawa tonite. Tampa Bay has that unenviable task. Ottawa are lethal right now and seem to have the talent to humiliate and degrade just about any team in the league when they're playing like this. I think Alfredsson will score 2 tonight.
