Brian D. Lawson interview about NWN 2 and stuff
mkreku replied to kirottu's topic in Computer and Console
Gothic had an awesome story. You weren't the savior or the chosen one. You were a lowly criminal tossed into a prison, and your main goal was to break out. Of course, as time progressed, it became clear that it wasn't possible to break out without breaking the entire prison and releasing every prisoner in there, but still.. You were no hero! You could even kill anyone or anything in the game. I love that fact. So I agree with Eldar: less of the heroes and saviors, please. -
Well, the problem with the build i presented is that it doesn't come with a screen. You could, however, downgrade the GPU from a 7800GT to a 6800 of some sort, and instead get a screen. The problem is that you would probably want to buy a good screen, but good screens are expensive. If the screen eats up too much of your budget your computer build will suffer heavily. It's very difficult to balance them both out.

You just called a developer a liar. That's been reported too! See you in court! ) -

You lose by stupidity. -
The GPU in the machine mentioned above is not a very strong one. The AMD 64 line of processors is a really good buy too, since it's generally cheaper than Intel equivalents and are better suited for gaming. 1 GB of RAM is the minimum I would recommend nowadays (just like the machine you linked to has), since anything below that is going to be a bottle-neck in the system. Corsair makes some good memory modules at a decent price. Go for a Nforce 4 motherboard. Make sure it has all the ports you need, If you need Firewire (for example) you'll usually have to spend a little more money to get that specifically since not all motherboards have those. Asus makes good motherboards. Abit too. You didn't mention if the setup should include a monitor or not. Anyhow, I looked up a system I could recommend at a decent prize (excluded monitor) and you would have to build it yourself, but if you ever built LEGO, you'd have no problem with doing this: # Antec SONATA II Piano Black SmartPower 2.0 450W # Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra 4DDR-DIMM 3PCI 4PCIe SATA Raid Audio GB-LAN Socket939 ATX # AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual-Core "Manchester" 90nm 3800+ 2.0GHz 512kb+512kb Boxed (with cpu-cooler!) Socket939 # Corsair Value Select 2x512Mb (tot. 1024Mb/1Gb) Dual DDR PC3200 400MHz 184pin CL2.5 # Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L250S0 250Gb 7200rpm 16Mb NCQ S-ATA150 # NEC ND-3550 Dual-Layer DVD 16X DVD+R and DVD-R BLACK IDE # Point of View GeForce 7800GT 256Mb DDR3 TV-out DUAL DVI VIVO SLI-ready RETAIL PCI Express This would set ypu back around

The constant exposure of the general population to IQ tests (or other, similar brain teasers) have resulted in better scores without actually increasing the general populations average IQ. People tend to get better results at tests like these because they are getting used to taking the tests, which is why the average IQ is no longer considered 100 (when measured with an IQ test) but around 115 instead.

Either that or the fact that my girlfriend would kill me if I didn't get this for her.

Ok, at least losing to Chicago isn't as bad as losing to Washington. Apparently Khabibulin was looking more like a wall again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that maybe Belfour is living off of his name nowadays (as I know you guys on this board disagreews with me): http://torontosun.com/Sports/Hockey/2005/1...305083-sun.html

Probably better. Heatley is hot as hell, Alfredsson is leading the entire league in points, Spezza is looking like Peter Forsberg and Hasek has played like he did in the 1998 Winter Olympics. Add to that some of the league's best d-men in Chara, Redden.. and Volchenkov (is that his name?) and you've pretty much got the complete package. I wish the Leafs looked even half as good on a daily basis.

360 games even more expensive than Xbox ones

360 games even more expensive than Xbox ones
mkreku replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
The more I read about the Xbox 360, the more I'm leaning towards it. I've looked through my entire PS2 game catalogue this weekend, and the only games I would miss not having directly on the Xbox 360 are the GTA's. That's it! Of course, it would be a nuisance not being able to play my PS2 titles on my new machine, but that's a blow I'm willing to take. Of course, when Sony starts releasing more info about the Playstation 3 in the future, I'll probably be swayed right back.. I really want a Blu-Ray player for instance. -
That's odd. Most people usually agree that World of Warcraft is the best thing that's happened to MMORPG's so far. I'd say it's a great game. I never liked strategy games though and Diablo (both of them) suck in my opinion, so.. But I do agree with you about the SSI games. I used to buy the Gold Box games as soon as they reached my game store shelves, without thinking twice about it. I had totally forgotten how it felt to trust a game company so completely until you reminded me just now. I wish there were more companies like that..

Don't worry about it. He only has 2 goals tonite.. so far. )

All I know is that when I dislocated my shoulder, I got to wait in line for like.. 2 hours. Then I got a mitella, a bunch of too strong pain killers (that knocked me the **** out, as you say in MMA) and a brutal doctor that pulled my shoulder back in place (although it had popped right back in by itself much earlier). Swedish healthcare is almost free (it cost like.. $16 that time), but sometimes it sucks. I have an american friend that was hit by a car and broke her ankle. She was forced to wait in the ER for several hours (not entirely sure, but I think it was 4 or 5) and had to sue the person hitting her to be able to pay for the medical care. When all was said and done the hospital wanted $100.000! I don't know about you guys, but for me that's an awful lot of money. The main difference between universal healthcare and private healthcare is that the people who can afford it can get superb healthcare in both systems, but only in a universal healthcare system do you get good healthcare (at least functioning healthcare) without being forced into personal bankrupcy. I prefer our system.

Who cares if Xbox 360 games are more expensive? Check this out: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6139702.html 200+ Xbox titles playable from the start! That's good enough for me. -
I bet they don't even allow prizes in cereals in Sweden, because of the risk of stupid people like me swallowing them.

I went to sleep when it was 2-2 in the Leafs game. When I woke up this morning they had let in three goals in the last period. What a great morning.

I'm assuming that the motherboard you have right now is equipped with an AGP slot, unless you have upgraded/changed/bought your motherboard within the last 1-2 years? The card you've been given, when is it from? If it's a very new card it's most likely a PCI-E card, if it's a very old card it might even be a PCI card. It doesn't really matter. The most likely case is that you have an AGP slot and the new card is PCI-E, which means you'll have to invest in a new motherboard to be able to use it. The same goes for any other unlikely combination too, since soldering new ports on a motherboard would probably be insanely difficult to do.
