It might be any of the consoles for me. Although, after seeing and playing the Xbox 360 first hand, I'm not that impressed by it anymore. I only played Call of Duty 2, which looked like a slightly smoother version of the game I have on my computer, but with worse controls. So. Not. Worth. $400. Edit: Call of duty 2

I personally prefer real-time action, but I don't see why we have to choose? Some like turn-based, some don't. Let both co-exist! Although.. I did like the combat in Jagged Alliance 2. I think that's the only game where turn-based combat has been fun for me. Edit: syntax.

Is Feargus Buying anything in the Acclaim "sale"

I think Bubble Bobble came with Taito Legends on my Playstation 2. I wonder what Acclaim are selling, really -
Is Feargus Buying anything in the Acclaim "sale"

I was looking at that list today and I was wondering why noone had picked up the Bard's Tale International IP.. -
Yeah, because your posts are so shockfull of links to reliable sources... Newsflash: your posts are exactly as full of biased opinion as mine. Difference is that I actually work as a games reviewer and has been doing so for several years. I actually base my biased opinions on the experience of going through hundreds of games per year. What do you base your uneducated guesses on? You played your NES when you were 12 and didn't notice a thing? Good for you. Unfortunately there (probably) haven't been any official studies on consoles effects on computer games as a whole.

There's this long, difficult word called statistics. Read up about it. I'll summarize: if you get to review 100 really awful obvious console ports (dumbed down games suited for kids or people with attention disorders or cats from hell) and among those you find one game that actually works on all platforms, you may draw the statistical conclusion that the platform indeed does affect the outcome of a game. And since the console in most cases is the lowest common denominator.. Draw your own conclusions.
-
So what you're saying is that because one game worked on several platforms it somehow negates all those hundreds of crappy console ports that have appeared on the PC since the dawn of time? Great argument!

Leafs lose again. At least Sundin had 7 shots on goal. It either means that he's at least trying.. or that he's dumping the puck from center ice a lot.

You are answering your own question with the question. If they didn't censor the games, who would be the only ones not able to play the games? The kids. They censor the games so the kids can play them too, which basically means they aim the games for kids by censoring them. Of course a more mature player can still play the games, but do they still want to? Lowest common denominator and all that..

Yes, I do. And so are encyclopedias and dictionaries too. Your point? The articles only cover the american points of censorship, but that's mainly because I couldn't find any that covered the rest of the world. That does not, however, mean Nintendo didn't censor games in any other country than America.

It gets old pretty fast discussing things with people who start their posts with "I think...". If you weren't there to witness it for yourselves, why don't you read up on Nintendo history instead of "thinking" stuff which suits your view in the debate? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo#Censorship

Sorry, you are wrong. I'm not anti-Nintendo (whatever that is) but I was active in the gaming scene when Nintendo was censoring games for their systems. "By the mid-90's, Nintendo's censorship practices were increasingly becoming both an embarrassment and a financial liability. Nintendo was earning a reputation as being a "kiddy" company that was both too patronizing and immature for older gamers." And: "Today, Nintendo of America does not actively censor the games released on their systems, except in extreme circumstances. Games such as the infamous Conker's Bad Fur Day, which include swearing, blood, and sex are now openly published under the Nintendo banner, as long as they carry with them a "M for Mature Gamers" rating." Source: http://www.filibustercartoons.com/Nintendo.php Just because you're too young to remember Nintendo's stinking policies doesn't mean they never existed. Nintendo was (and still is) branded as the console for kids while Sega and Sony were intended for the more mature audience right from the start.

New Obsidian logo(movie clip thingy) proposal...
mkreku replied to kirottu's topic in Obsidian General
Wow.. Kor Qel Droma's idea is actually VERY much how I had imagined it. I can't believe I share the same brain as an Oiler's fan! -
Never has been. I'm not so sure about that. Nintendo used to have very strict rules about the games they allowed on their machines. I remember Rare getting in trouble for Conker's Bad Fur Day for.. Was it Nintendo 64? I think so. Also, back in the 16-bit era, they used to censor the games on the Nintendo. Blood could not be red, developers had to either remove the blood or turn it into a harmless colour. Nintendo has always been aimed at kids (Nintendo is still one of the strongest brands among 5 year olds), even though they've at least been letting other kinds of games appear on their consoles now.

Microsoft sued over alleged Xbox 360 glitch
mkreku replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
I see Xbox 360 ads on TV all the time (Microsoft must be spending billions on marketing!) but I have yet not heard any sales numbers in Sweden. Of course, they only started selling it on Dec 2. The lawsuit is ridiculous. -
Ottawa wins again.. Damn them! Alfredsson had a goal but oddly enough Spezza went scoreless. Bochenski? Does that mean you'll have to watch out for more than Ottawa's top line? Great.

I was dumb enough to play Icewind Dale before the Baldur's Gate's and now it feels like a huge step back when I try to play those. The interface is so much better in Icewind Dale and I don't even know where the difference's at.

They have my hopes up for Neverwinter Nights 2. Wayyyy up there. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint (although I am counting on numerous bugs.. just like its predecessor).

Feel free to let us know when you switch to the old, boring Battlefield 2, so that we who don't own the expansion can take part in the mayhem. Does Feargus play? -
Nice start by Huselius: three assists. Ovechkin 1 goal 3 assists. Back on top of the rookie scoring list. Thornton had another great game. Unfortunately agains the Leafs.
