Never! We would never abandon our server. We may ignore it most of the time, but we do keep it close by. So here's the deal: Lag issues are making the server an unattractive proposition for most of us now. The current plan is to wait until we get a faster internet connection (next month) before resuming internet play in earnest. What this means is that we probably won't be getting on the Obsidian server for the rest of the month, unless we're feeling silly. For now, I guess we'll have to just wait (I'm a little bummed myself). When we start getting lots of players, I'll be sure to update everyone with what's going on.

Hey all, Just to let you know, we're not going to have a full compliment of OEI players this month due to our bandwidth-tapped internet connection. We are due to get a fatter pipe soon, hopefully January, but until then, we'll have just a handful of Obsidianites in the server at best. Otherwise, it just becomes lag-city for us. Sorry you guys missed us. As I said before, we play primarily on Wed and Fri 6pm-onward. If you guys would like to join us, I recommend that you check the server around 6:30pm to see what's going on. EA has a rather unfortunate server requirement: 10 people have to be on before a game can start. Since nobody wants to join an empty server, that means that we have to log in to jump start it. Once that happens, the server will usually be going until 1am or so.

Yeah, the server is currently set to Special Forces maps, rotating between 16 and 32 player versions of each map. We plan on doing some kind of rotation: Vanilla BF2 on some weeks and Special Forces on others. And... you will NEVER kill Post-It Note Man!!! (I just might boot you from the server if that happens.) Yes, I am that petty. Actually, just go gunning for Morgan and we'll be friends. Less talk more play!

Boo! Just wanted to drop in quickly to advertise our new BF2 server. We may have to kick people occasionally to make room for us, but rest assured that it's nothing personal. We love you all!

I just wanted to report that Duct Tape Man and I are very happy about the support. Sadly, in an actual duel to the death, I think that my lack of weaponry would be my undoing. Should I triumph though, I'd be sure to leave a post-it note on his forehead with something like, "I Win!" or "Who's the senior designer now?" to commemorate the occasion.
