  1. Newsflash! Most modern script languages do, actually. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had never seen it before and I was under the impression that it was.. more highly developed, rather than just being a few extra libraries, variables and classes for C++. For an example of a really well-thought out and high level script language, check out DIL, for the Valhalla Mud Engine. It's (naturally) also quite similar to C++, but still a whole level above that. Edit: Corrected the name of the script language. Added link.
  2. Neverwinter Nights script language looks suspiciously similar to C++..
  3. Actually it was my girlfriend trying out a new recipe she found. I think she fried them.
  4. I had cheese filled chicken wrapped in bacon! It sounds nasty but it was very tasty.
  5. Madeleine! Edit: Damn Angelfire! Is it working now?
  6. How could you not love this man? )
  7. I was hoping Halonen would win again. I just looove seeing my 'dear' neighbours being pussywhipped by their female president for another, what, four years? ) Just kidding, not even I am that much of a chauvinist. Congratulations, Finland, I think you made the right choice!
  8. I don't have very strict standards for what should be considered RPG's. If the game calls itself RPG then I'll judge it as a RPG. Among those in the gray area that I still would refer to as RPG's are Gothic/Gothic 2, Deus Ex, System Shock/System Shock 2 and the Diablo's. The difference is just that Diablo fails miserably in the genre it's supposed to belong to, which is why it is (for me) the worst RPG I've ever played. Also, I didn't like it that much as a game either, but that's a different story.
  9. I get a lot of games that are real pain's in the backend to review, because that means I have to give them a fair chance and at least play them enough to be able to judge them. The ones that pop up in my mind are Ribbit King, which was so cutesy it made my intestants wriggle, and Army Men: Sarge's War. None of those games are really bad games, but those are the ones that were really difficult to motivate oneself to playing for hours on end. Worst RPG would probably be Diablo. Worst personal disappointment was Morrowind.

It looks like Tellquist will get a rare start for the Leafs. Tonight we'll see if the Leafs can turn it around with the help of another goalie. Nothing seems to be decided yet, but I really hope Quinn gives the chance to Tellquist. He has earned it and he has earned a chance to try to make an impact as one of the starting goalies in the NHL. Personally I think Quinn is way too lenient with his veterans. I mean, Sundin really should get a kick in the butt (not in the last game, but a long period before that game) and benching him for a period or two would probably have sent a clear message. Same with Allison early in the season. Oh well, tonite's the nite, we're gonna make it happen! Lalalala! Edit: Found this about Belfour: "Belfour is not the root cause of a seven-game losing streak, but neither is he stealing the wins he once did, at least for this mistake-prone, injury-plagued version of the Leafs." 13. This is how we know noone at Obsidian is a paid poster:
  14. It feels like you're discussing the wrong aspects of "the chosen one" scenarios. The point isn't about if you become a chosen one because of all the great deeds you perform. The point is that being "the chosen one" right from the beginning without ever having to lift a finger for it, is boring. Naturally all games have to revolve around the player and his actions, but I am sure it is possible to create the impression that the quests you're allowed to solve would be solvable by any adventurer with enough skill and not just by "teh One!!", chosen by some oracle a thousand years back.
  15. ATI recently took back the lead in both single card and dual card setups: http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/01/24/ati...ixel_pipelines/ Too bad those high-end cards cost as much as TWO Xbox 360's.. each.
  16. What the.. Why aren't you busy designing the game of my dreams?! Stop wasting time on this board and go work on it!! Seriously though, one of the reasons why Gothic/Gothic 2 suited me so perfectly is the fact that the main character is nothing but a lowly criminal that just wants to escape "jail" but ends up overthrowing evil in the end. He never feels like "teh Chosen one", just a nobody that you, as a player, gets a chance to redeem.. or at least build into something you enjoy playing. He has no backstory, no name and no burden of any kind. I like. The more I hear from this Sawyer dude about his preferences in games, the more I feel like some brown nosing prick. I have to stop agreeing so damn much.
  17. Oh well, at least I got a good night's sleep. I SLEPT DAMN WELL TOO!

Why do you even bother to write all that crap when we both think he's struggling? Are you on your period or something? Every thread I read you're getting your knickers in a knot over something totally worthless. You can blame the team all you want (it only tells me lots about your hockey knowledge) but Belfour isn't a dependable goalie anymore. He wasn't in the last playoffs and he sure as hell isn't one now. His stats says it all, no matter how much you twist and slither around them. It seems Ovechkin might be slowing down, finally. One measly assist in his last two games. Maybe the guy is human after all? Or maybe he just wants to give Crosby a chance to catch up and make the race for the Calder more exciting? )

You base your views on Belfour based on the one statistic that's entirely out of Belfour's hands..? If he's a great goalie, why is he AFTER Kolzig (using your example) in save percentage? Last I checked, Washington is one of the lowest ranked teams in the NHL, something which the Leafs aren't (yet), still Kolzig is getting better stats. Indication of something, perhaps? Toronto sucks defensively, but Washington sucks even more. Yet Kolzig gets better individual stats than Belfour. Remember that "shots against" is the only statistic that the goalie can't do anything about himself. The other stats (wins, GAA, save percentage etc.) is all up to the goalie, and that's where Belfour fails. Draw your own conclusions (which will inevitably be that Belfour is great anyhow.. sigh). On average Belfour faces 30 shots per game. The rookie Lundquist faces 28 on average. That's two more shots per game that Belfour has to deal with. You really think that's what's killing the Leafs right now? Two measly shots per game? Kolzig faces 34 shots per game on average as a comparison. Hey, why not check out the leader: The Dominator faces almost 29 shots per game on average! Just under two shots less than Belfour. Now compare the rest of their stats (Hasek's and Belfour's) and try to decide who is a great goalie and who is not. In the few Leafs games I've been able to see this year Belfour stunk up the place. Even Marc Andre Fleury (who also faces 30 shots per game on average) has a better GAA (and save percentage) than Belfour! I mean, come on, Pittsburgh lose twice as many games as they win! Edit: Just five minutes after I wrote this post, Toronto switched goalie (midperiod) to Tellquist. Belfour had (at the time) gotten 16 shots on him, let in 4 and sported a 75% save percentage. Whopping!

I wish the Leafs could trade a little of their deadweight too. How about Aki Berg? Alexei Ponikarovsky? Tie Domi? Alexander Khavanov? Ed Belfour? Oh and all of you who claimed Ed Belfour didn't live off his name (in one of the former NHL threads) and that he still stole games.. check out his stats this season! HE SUCKS. I wish Quinn benched the bastard and let Tellquist develop into a starting goalie.
  21. Uh.. How did the Gothic-series get involved in a thread about the best of Infinity..?
  22. I loved the viewing distance of Far Cry. It ran silky smooth on my computer, yet I was able to climb a mountain and admire another island two miles away in the distance. I loved that! I'm looking forward to this, even though you'll probably need SLI-connected 7800 GT's to run it.
  23. Bah! What are elf boobies without streaming maps? NADA.
  24. They've done that in most sports in Sweden. They are also very reluctant to show the ring girls in boxing/MMA. They outlawed the pitgirls in motorsports a few years back, but they seem to have come back, probably under fake titles like "Assistant mechanic" or something.
