Anyone remember when games used to come on like 6-8 floppy discs? Yeah, it was bad.. Well, it's back. GTA5 comes on seven DVD's. No option of buying on Blu-ray. Ridiculous.

It's 60€ for me.. where do you find it for $40?

You can also use an image viewer, like Irfanview and resize it yourself. Ctrl + R resizes it (if it's too large pixel wise) Ctrl + S saves it, and here you get to choose the compression factor. Something like jpg at 90% usually removes 800 KB or so from a 1 MB pic without any visible reduction in image quality.

I want to buy a retail copy too, but my town is all out. Also, it's ridiculously expensive. Why?

Asus G771JW? http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G771JW/ (Core i7, GTX960M, so good for more than light gaming and it's not a monster truck design) -
I got back from my Africa trip a few hours ago (16 hours ago to be precise) and I have to say it's been a blast. Landed in Congo, spent almost a week there (went out clubbing until 4-5 in the morning 4 days out of 5) before flying to Cape Town (I was there at the same time as Bruce, I had no idea) to party some more. Went to Cape Point, hiked up Table mountain, swam in the ridiculously cold water and had lots and lots of good food, beer and gir.. fun. I mean fun. The air B'n'b we rented turned out to be the apartment of a 25 year old fitness girl. She brought over her friends and invited us to a tequila party (she works at an ad agency and her client sells tequila so she had unlimited amounts). That became one of the best party's I've ever been to. Crazy good times. But now I need rest. Vacationing is haaard.

Yeah, this is the reason I kind of prefer to watch European hockey. I just wish the best players didn't always go where the money is (NHL) because the best leagues and the best fans seem to be in Europe.

Kaspersky detected trojan in pillarsofeternity.exe ?
mkreku replied to Metamega's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
If all I'm doing is looking at the test results it doesn't matter..? If we're going to ignore test results, why even bother with these two guides? What would you suggest we should look at instead of the test results? Your personal sample of one test? I did look into the two. This is why I am asking if you could specify why your guide is somehow better than mine, because I can't see it. The one I linked, AV-test.org, is an independent institute operating out of Germany. They employ 30+ people, have been in business for over 15 years and cooperate with several German universities, they test over 2 million files every day in their server park of over 1000 TB capacity, they thoroughly explain their methods and approach on their homepage, they have several certifications, lots of publicized scientific articles regarding virus/malware, and they have a solid reputation among big corporations around the world (including mine). So I ask again if you could specify why your guide would be better than the one I linked? -

I'm pretty sure using a sample of one is what's a "load of crock" here. Not really. Keep Kaspersky. If you're going to link an AV comparison guide, use a good one, not what you linked. Could you specify what makes the AV comparison guide you linked better than the one I linked? When I read your guide, it says the same thing as the one I linked: Bitdefender 6 awards (4 Gold, 1 Bronze, Product of the year) - 18 points in my guide Kaspersky 6 awards (2 Gold, 3 Silver, Top Rated Product 2014) - 18 points in my guide Eset NOD32 4 awards (1 Gold, 2 Bronze, Top Rated Product 2014) - 15 points in my guide Bitdefender is the best, Kaspersky second and NOD32 a bit behind, in both guides. -

Wow, was the above ever a doomsday post or what? Leafs totally tanked the entire season right after I posted that. Anyhow, Ovechkin just scored goal number 50 for the sixth time in his ten year career. That's actually pretty fantastic, especially considering that the closest competitor for the Rocket Richard trophy is at 40 goals this season. I might be imagining things, but it seems both goalscoring and points production overall are way down this year. Noone is even close to 100 points. I also noticed that Erik Karlsson, the young Swedish Sens defender has more points than the best player on the Leafs (Kessel). Not sure if I should be happy or sad about that.

It's a nice card, for sure, but personally I kind of lost the incentive to waste huge amounts of money on GPU's anymore. I have a 290X and it feels like there's nothing out there that really stresses the card that I want to play. Like, right now I'm playing through Borderlands 2 with everything on full blast at 2560x1440 and it doesn't even make the fans go up! Maybe The Witcher 3.. and maybe a 390X.. we will see if I get my geek spending urges back.

So I was playing Borderlands 2 again, with the added DLC, and I was running around in Zed's place when I saw a hidden QR-code inside one of the morgue cabinets. Naturally I had to try to scan it with my phone. Surprisingly enough it worked: Maybe you've all seen this already, but I thought it was pretty neat.

I recently bought all the DLC for Borderlands 2 (in a Steam sale, naturally) and I've been playing through that. I finished Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep today. I think that may be the best DLC I've ever played.

Eurogamer has a review up for Pillars of Eternity: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-03-26-pillars-of-eternity-review It's recommended, but the actual review sounds negative.

Well, they haven't really gone completely under. They're operating under the name Crate Entertainment and are busy completing Grim Dawn right now. I've enjoyed the early access of Grim Dawn more than I've enjoyed Titan Quest + Expansion.

I was playing Avadon 2: The Corruption as it's an excellent game (screw you, haters!). Just running around, talking to people, fighting the finite amounts of enemies and having a blast in general. Then I hit level 30 and that was it. There are still more fights to fight, but my characters can't level up no more. It's fascinating how quickly that turned the game's combat from fun to a slog. Like, what's the point? Get it over with! I will still complete the game (I think I am close and the story is excellent), but why, oh why would you put a level cap in a game with a finite amount of fights? It just seems so.. pointless.

Meanwhile in mkreku's lair: You and your fancy schmanzy 3D graphics..

It reminds me so much of Gothic 3. And since Gothic 3 is one of my favourite games of all time, my hype meter is through the roof.

All these Dying Light posts are slowly convincing me to buy the stupid game. It's down to $41 in Sweden now. Worth it? I might have to mention that I loved Dead Island.

I have the exact same problem with Chrome, but only for one specific site: imgur.com. After going through a couple of pages of imgur, the fans start spinning like crazy on my GPU (it has three of them so it's pretty audible) and the entire page becomes unresponsive and slow as hell. It's really weird and annoying.

Yeah, that sounds cool actually. A lot of games are inaccessible on tablets right now only because of the controls. Can you tell us the specific model? I bought mine from here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/In-Stock-Original-Xiaomi-Bluetooth-Game-Controller-For-Xiaomi-phones-Android-Mobile-Phones-TV-Tablet-PC/32277449063.html It's not exactly cheap perhaps, but the quality is excellent. Like all Xiaomi products so far, actually. I worry that it's somehow made especially for Xiaomi phones/tablets, but the seller assures that it's compatible with all Bluetooth enabled devices. I only own Xiaomi devices myself so I am not able to test if this is true.

I bought this thing for gaming: It's made by the same company that made both my phone and my tablet and it somehow connects through Bluetooth (using weird Chinese signs), but it works. I'm playing my games flawlessly in most of the cases (not Dragon Quest 5 though, annoyingly), but GTA: Vice City and GTA: Chinatown Wars runs like a dream. I'll be picking up KotOR and Shadowrun: Dragonfall soon. They're "not compatible" with my device, but that's usually BS (Google Play said the same for my GTA's, but I bought them through the MOGA Store just fine anyhow) so I'll just have to find a way to pay for them another way My tablet rocks. Oh, and Dragon Quest 5 is surprisingly good..
