  1. Bethesda keeping it subtle and low key just up the road from E3.
  2. I'm not totally enjoying the combat but it's still giving me a few 'fist in the air' moments, defeating the kayran was one of those, on my first battle it killed me in one hit so enduring and figuring out the pattern was enjoyable. I'm finding the game in general to be slightly unpolished, not the best graphics in the world but certainly the best RPG graphics, it's all a bit jittery and jumpy and not *quite* there but I'm definitely enjoying it.
  3. I just encountered my first sex scene in , it was pretty well done, leagues above the awkwardness of Dragon Age at least.
  4. I think they look quite decent, there is definitely a whiff of Oblivion and Fallout though, especially the radioactive looking water
  5. A nice Nordy looking structure, reminds me of Rohan or more obviously, the Skaal village on Solstheim A young looking forest, it's nice but I'm hoping we get at least one ancient forest with epic trees. Technoviking getting swordraped.
  6. Will Obama be a Witcher fan? *google translated* Air Force One with Barack Obama heading towards the U.S.. The U.S. president on the board can relax unpack gifts from Polish. 7. "Literally Unbelievable" Stories from The Onion as interpreted by Facebook.
  8. I really like his character but the actor's pronunciation is a bit off now and then, he sounds like he's aiming for upper class British but it comes off a bit forced, hopefully he'll get better, or get killed, I've heard how this series works
  9. The odds of your balls being detached in a good old fashioned airline disaster are far greater, in fact it's much more likely that you'd be separated from them in a road accident or a nasty tumble off the Stannah At this point I'm obviously going to trot out the impractical suggestion of banning road travel and stairlifts, and no, I'm obviously not suggesting that airliners aren't targets, everything is a target to someone, you can't protect it all, but somewhere, someone thinks you can and will probably find a way to profit from it. So first we have enhanced checkpoints at airports, and the bogieman moves on to public transport, eventually we'll have them in busy public places and the bogieman will find something else to blow up, feels like whack a mole. I'm intelligent enough to know there's no easy solution, but I like to think I've lived just long enough to be able to recognise control freakery and proto fascism.
  10. Fallout 3 got progressively worse with every patch+dlc, once upon a time VATS was instant, the game was more stable and...you could target grenades mid flight New Vegas is building on very shaky ground, I really hope they manage to sort this out before I come back to the game, I intentionally left quite a lot of stuff undone for this last playthrough.
  11. I'm not 100% sure if you're being sarcastic, either way that's the official rationale, but considering the worlds most prominent and destructive terrorist attack was caused without weapons of any kind I'm really not sure, box cutters erm...don't cut it If these "enhanced patdowns" were so crucial why didn't they go straight for our balls immediately after 9/11? I tend to think it's because without ten years of war and fear backing it up, people wouldn't have accepted it. In fact most of the bomb attacks in recent terrorist history have been in shopping precincts and on buses and trains, the logical answer is surely to install checkpoints at all public locations, in fact, oh look. Living in a free society is risky business, I suppose my real concern is where does security in the name of safety end?
  12. Fed Threat Shuts Down TSA "Groping" Bill in Texas Yes we can!..touch your balls
  13. There's a few too many untagged spoilers flying around here for my liking
  14. Events like this remind that me dreary old England isn't so bad, though...it's raining pretty heavy right now On the subject of daily doings, last night I put in my new GPU, a GTX 580 to replace my frankly godawful Radeon 5970, as I expected 90% of my complaints vanished, so today when I get home I'm going to play a shed load of games and eat junky food.
  15. I've had graphical garbage in Fallout 3 that you would swear is a GPU crashing but never manifests in anything else, even after 12 hours of Furmark, Bethesda's engine really is running on the edge of destruction at all times.
  16. I bet L.A Noir would still run like **** on a PC though *sigh* I hate how jaded I'm becoming with modern PC gaming.
  17. After an evening testing the GTX 580 it will be, I notice that they're selling for almost exactly what I've paid for my new card (
  18. I suppose they could do a God Of War type action game tie in, I've got no doubt they're going to try and get Witcher 2 onto consoles though, it basically becomes an Xbox game if you enable a 360 pad.
  19. New Witcher game on consoles, they're not admitting that it's Witcher 2 but I bet it is.
  20. Patch incoming in the next hour apparently.
  21. Today I ordered a new graphics card to replace my amazing and awesome Radeon 5970, I'm going green again with a GTX 580...which actually consumes more power and is occasionally slower but damn it, AMD and Xfire can go jump. I expect all my old games to immediately display correctly, my 3D graphics software to magically start working again and damn it, I want to ride a ****ing unicorn, is this too much to ask?!
  22. I enjoyed the latest episode too, nicely satisfying events going on
  23. Yeah, I think lots of us miss blindingly obvious opportunities like that, I certainly could have had a ton of fun...looking back
  24. After trying the GOG executable fix (better fps and quicker loading) that's going around I've managed to get tolerable performance from the game, I just got to Flotsam and I'm mostly impressed, I like how confused I feel with the world, it's enjoyable having to mentally track of all the strange names and connections. The combat is tolerable, quite a few cool moments but mostly I'm finding it to be a grind, granted I've barely figured out all the traps and crafting stuff, I assume there's a rhythm to it that I'll eventually pick up. When AMD get around to releasing a fix I'm sure I'll get into it deeper, it's got rough edges but I like it.
  25. Apple causes religious reaction in brains of fans.
