  1. Yeah, because when I think of Skyrim I really think "those lazy developers just left out a ton of stuff." Agreed, I'm burnt out on Skyrim and I've only seen half of it, one thing I never complain about with Bethesda is bang for buck, I'm hoping the Gun Runners Arsenal showed them that they can make money from smaller releases that enhance the core game, better still I hope they just put it out on the Steam Workshop.
  2. Just noticed this video over on the Codex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2DshotexMU&feature=player_embedded#!
  3. Damn, that was fast, though it's not like any startup could pull it off, Tim and Ron have got 20 years worth of fan obsession to rely on...somewhat like a certain RPG developer, I've liked the idea of crowd funding for a while now, I genuinely want to see it work as a model.
  4. I love it when something like that flies under my radar, what a nice surprise, I'll throw $15 into that hat.
  5. I'm not above kiting but this isn't really intentional, it's just me running away *edit* I should add that the problem is mainly that I can't keep these guys occupied with my heavy fighters, I fire off a few crossbow shots or spells and they start homing in on my ranged characters, I'm guessing that I need to look into traps and spells a bit more, find a way of slowing them down.
  6. To be fair Oblivion is the only one that needs modding, vanilla Morrowind is passable but after so many years of modding it's been elevated to godlike status, Skyrim doesn't seem to have many outright broken systems so in 300 hours of playing I only found myself looking for minor tweaks.
  7. I've almost finished the City Watch quests and difficulty is starting to ramp up, I got wiped out a couple of times recovering the weapons shipment, I feel like I'm getting to grips with the rules though, the AI is also performing reasonably now I have it tuned. I have been wondering if there are any Dragon Age style combos, also, if someone could explain how to taunt it'd be a big help, as soon as my ranged characters start firing it all falls apart and I spend half the round running away from aggro'd guards.
  8. Haha, so in the space of a week Bethesda modded in some of the most requested features, they better be releasing all this goodness
  9. Gah, I should stop looking at all the new mods, I don't want to spend all year playing Skyrim
  10. I've heard that the clutter hasn't been fully retextured, pretty much all the vanilla furniture looked insultingly awful to me, how do the shelves and tables look now?
  11. Quite a lot of dialogue is hugely improved over Oblivion but there's still shoddy writing during some "high drama" moments, the game as a whole is very good though, keep going I say.
  12. I spent another five hours playing the game tonight, I turned the difficulty up to DnD and made it to Neverwinter, I assume things get much trickier from here, next time I get a chance I'll start dual classing. I'm enjoying the game though, the story so far is pretty standard fare but it's delivered well and the characters are fun, I do intend to play MotB afterwards but I'm not sure how the character export thing works, is it just for stats or are there story elements that carry over too?
  13. Thanks for all the advice, I spent six hours playing the game on Normal with a Fighter build and so far it's been pretty good fun but I'm quite restricted by my bare minimum grasp of DnD rules, I'll bump the difficulty up tonight, I'm not keen on having to micromanage everything so disabling the AI is a worry, on the other hand the AI is barely competent. I found an AI Mod that people seem to like but I'm wary of installing it, has anyone tried it?
  14. Unfortunately that's mostly how I'd describe the first Syndicate game, I got way more fun out of Syndicate Wars.
  15. I dug out a scratched up copy of Neverwinter Nights 2 that came bundled with some long forgotten graphics card, I've got it installed and fully updated (phew) and I can tell I'm going to get into it but I'm wondering if there are any essential mods or fixes that even a first timer should use. The character creation process is a bit overwhelming but I just about understand what I'm choosing, I've had very little experience with PnP gaming so advice for a first time character would be great, I tend to prefer fighters with minor magic skills, just enough to throw some worthwhile spells in a sticky situation. Cheers
  16. It's looking like those mods shown in the CK preview video might not be mock ups, also, it seems a high res texture pack is going to be available too I've never seen Bethesda responding so well to feedback.
  17. Not playing much yet, I gave up on Daggerfall after spending 30 long minutes attempting to climb some stairs without falling through the geometry, then I returned to the Fighters guild to hand in the quest and found that the quest giver didn't give a toss about me actually doing quests, he'd just give me the gold. The strange thing was after asking around on Bethesda's forums I found lots of people seem to love the bugs, they even enjoy "finding their way back to the game" from catastrophic bugs
  18. I doubt I'll buy this, I can't get past the WoWness of it, plus they're not hiding the fact that the IP will eventually become an MMO...yeah, I'll wait and see what happens first.
  19. Bethesda have released a trailer for the Creation Kit, are you ready for Steam to make modding easier than ever? Ah well, at least it's coming,
  20. I've been specifically avoiding any large open world games after Skyrim destroyed my social life and sleeping pattern, I do have Fallout 2 installed and I'm nibbling a few hours off it each week but mostly I'm playing old Nintendo games and reading books.
  21. Nice vid, I love the upgraded music system used in New Vegas, it seems Skyrim uses a similar system, I wonder if they used any of the New Vegas code for it.
  22. I'm always amused by how British cold war locations look so old worldy, that BBC documentary Threads gave me the same feeling with all it's chunky hardware and rotary phones.
  23. It's tolerable, they just need to tweak it a little, that massive orange post edited bar is a bit much.
  24. The sequel is just as good, or at least I enjoyed both games equally, great mood.
  25. I dunno, I'm the sort of person who would stay put if it's comfortable...but that's led to one giant rut of a life, so what do I know?
