  1. A comment left by someone on here a while ago got me thinking: what if there were support weapons? Weapons that provide more RPG elements, a (slightly) new way to handle combat, and small buffs when used. I propose staves as a new support weapon. These 2-handed weapons would have low damage, but long reach (longer than the spear,) and pretty fast attack. Their main use, though, would be the buffs they provide. When swung, the character wielding the weapon and all other friendly characters in a certain vicinity would receive a small buff that would last about 5-10 seconds (depending on the tier), and would refresh every time it was swung. These buffs would range depending on the weapon or tier (for example, a flower staff would provide health regen, and a spider staff would provide a poison effect to all weapons/ tools.) You would be able to find the buff that the weapon provides below its damage, stun, and speed stats (like right where the spider fang dagger says +poison or whatever.) The tier off staves first would be a pebblet staff, which would be made from two pebblets, 2 sprigs, 2 dry grass chunks, and 1 sap chunk. The buff it would provide would be very small (something like +speed for about 6 seconds.) From there, the staves could really be anything. Ant staves, flower staves, spider staves, mosquito staves, bee staves, water boatman staves, maybe even mantis staves. These staves would just be really cool for people who want to play support in a group, and could even be useful in single player (imagine hitting an enemy with a staff to get a buff, and then switching over to something like a dagger to finish them off.) I just think a new staff weapon could be really great, and I would love to hear what you guys think!
  2. I'm in. ALL HAIL THE IMMORTAL CROW AND KOI, THE GODS OF THE BACKYARD. WE SHALL BOW DOWN TO THEIR GRANDEUR, AND PRAY THEY DO NOT DESTROY WITH THEIR MIGHTINESS AND STRENGTH.
  3. Hey fellas. My uncle and I were thinking about getting koi armor. Is it worth it? It's defense is really low, and I don't know what the armor and set bonus do. If anyone has made the armor and used it, please tell me about your experience with it and whether or not it is worth grinding for.
  4. I think they've been postponed. I don't know until when.
  5. I think an incendiary bomb would just be an awesome new weapon to add in Grounded. It would be a Molotov c*cktail- type concoction made from 1x grub goop, 1x dry grass chunk, 1x fungal growth, and 1x boiling gland. It would, well, set things on fire once it's been thrown (it would set things on fire as soon as it hits something, so you couldn't pick it back up like a bratburst.) Not only would it burn bugs, it would also burn down webs and harvestable plants. It would also make the ground it touched ashen, which would mean plants couldn't grow there for a couple of days. (which could be useful for building.)
  6. Definitely. The choice of using bows has been pretty much eradicated as of late (which sucks, as I absolutely LOVE using bows.) I wish they would make bows an actual choice.
  7. Personally, I like the idea of "classes" in the game and would love to see what they do with them. It would be cool if they added more RPG elements into the game, like Terraria, and make it so that there are other paths you could take instead of just spamming the spider fang dagger or mint mallet. Of course, like McSquirl Nugget said though, it would have to be done right.
  8. I guess I'll add on to this list: Tier 4 creatures like mice, squirrels, hummingbirds, small lizards, daddy long- legs, roaches, centipedes, moths, and scorpions Shields and swords Glass, charcoal, thorns, wire, and paper for tier 3 tools and weapons Stun and fire arrows Incendiary bombs New biomes (ash- lands; freezing biome; sandbox; etc.) A target that can be set down on the floor and shot at More traps (like a web trap) Soups and more smoothies
  9. I meant like in the actual flowerbed, there would be real roses that we could take thorns out of. And no, we don't already have thorns, we have thistles.
  10. Now that's an idea I could get behind. Wrapper armor could look really cool (I would imagine it would look like an astronaut suit or knight armor.) I also thought that it would be cool if there was a flower bed full of roses that we could cut off thorns off of (you could use thorns for a spear.)
  11. I like the idea of scavenging. I think that would be a cool way to get resources from things like hummingbirds and mice (for mice, arming a mouse trap and killing them that way; for hummingbirds, leading them into a web, like you said, or something similar.)
  12. I think a basketball would just a fun little thing to add in Grounded. It's recipe would be pretty simple (something like 2x bug rubber, 2x berry leather, and 1x silk rope.) You would obviously use it with the basketball hoop. It would be quite bouncy, so if you threw it straight down, it would bounce right back up. When shooting it, you might be able to see an "arc" show up on your screen so you know where to shoot it. Also, I think a new mutation, called "Baller," should be added for the basketball hoop. You would unlock tier one after making 20 throws into the basketball hoop. You would then unlock tier two by making it 50 times, and unlock tier three after making it 100 times. This mutation would increase jump height.
  13. It might be too late to completely rework all the bugs' behaviors and AI.
  14. Roaches would be a cool tanky tier four bug. They would only spawn in very certain places (so early players could avoid these beasts); most likely in a moist area (maybe even in a new biome, like in a swamp or trash area .) They would be pretty much impossible to kill on their own, so you would need to use poison to attack them. You would most likely find this roach poison in the shed (in powder form), and would probably need a shovel and gas mask to harvest it. You could then combine with any of the three human foods to make roach poison. You would then go to the area where the roaches live, and put down the food (by dropping it.) If a roach eats the food, then they would become weakened and wouldn't put up much of a fight. Then you would attack the roach. If you don't manage to kill while it's still sick, though, then it would return to normal and try to attack you. If this did happen, then you would have to hide away from the roach until the aggro meter went down, and try to poison it again. Eventually, you would be able to kill it, and would get a few useful parts from it; like roach parts, and roach antennae (which could be good for weapon and tool handles.) The parts could also be used for a super strong tier four armor. This roach armor would provide a defenseful sort of armor bonus. The full set bonus would be "un-killable." Un-killable- when you at a critically low health, the armor will sometimes protect you from a fatal blow.
  15. I'm going to have to agree with the goomba here. I don't think microtransactions belong in grounded, nor would they make sense.
  16. I figured it out, but only for the spiky armor:
  17. I don't know about actually killing the squirrel, but maybe you could pull off hairs off the squirrel's tail when it's not looking. I do think tier four enemies should be small animals and big bugs.
  18. Shady cloak (chestpiece)- made from 8x crow feather pieces, and 1x silk rope. Would increase item stack capacity by 5 (for most things anyway.) It would be a tier two armor piece that would not have very much defense. (I tried to upload my picture I drew for the shady cloak, but apparently it's over 1024 kB .) Spiky armor (full set)- made from sap, bug rubber, larva spikes, thistles, and clover leaves. A tier one armor slightly worse than acorn armor. It's armor bonus would be +attack or something similar. It's set bonus would "thorns," which would damage whatever creature attacks the player wearing the armor. (same thing again with the uploading. If someone knows a solution, please let me know.)
  19. I agree. I much rather like the idea of deflecting or hitting the attack away with a well timed block instead of just standing there and taking it.
  20. They made So that the fights are less robotic. Now you HAVE to block and jump away or else you're dead. My suggestion? Git gud.
