So, am I the only one who finds the above armchair imperialism of divvying countries up according to your random perceptions more than a little disturbing? Well, a lot of people thought the Munich agreement was a good idea, too... Otherwise, I posit Rostere as the "Chamberlain of the Obsidian Order"...

I managed to cancel my preorder for similar reasons.

Haha, Isabela = any woman with sexual experience. Thanks, I needed that.

Yes, and it was also the reasoning of Garibaldi, Bismarck, Michael Collins, and every national hero there ever was. Just because Hitler said something doesn't mean it was wrong. Hitler was also a vegetarian. Do you use that as an (so-called I guess) argument against vegetarianism? I know I do!

Having this awkward historical flashback about wanting all people who speak a certain language to be a part of one country. It didn't end too well. It's also related to my pet theory about russia being 70-80 years behind Western Europe in development. Anyway,

I was just happy with my choices. But we all know I love slutty brunettes. That wear leather, dark makeup and listen to industrial while snapping their whips. And read the Economist.

Interesting, as in how I'm going to shuffle payments. Not "what STDs did I pick up?" Clothes, shoes, scotch and earphones...

Are we asking for forgiveness? No. Nations that aren't sufficiently proficient at spying end up with their fleet of battleships getting torpedoed and sunk by a surprise attack. So I'm all for having a top notch spy service. But this is way off topic... Companies end up losing tenders when you don't know how much the other guy is offering, and other disasters like that

I just consider it further proof that you are the man :D At Heathrow, in a ****ty lounge. I spent 3-4 times what I had planned on this trip, but frankly none of it was stuff that I hadn't planned on getting this spring... Just better quality/cheaper than in Finland. Gonna make the next couple of months pretty interesting, though :D

I'm pretty sure they made every character in the world of DA2 bisexual so that they'd have all bases covered and nobody could complain (except the people with functioning brain cells who figured out that it's astronomically unlikely that Hawke would be a vortex that attracts bisexuals in a mevievalesque RPG, in total ignorance of the fact that the only people who could get away with homosexual behavior were kings and people close in noble rank to kings.)I'm actually curious as to what it is about Bioware games that so strongly attracts the LGBT community such that it is, for all intents and purposes, their primary audience. Sure their promo material is all White Male Shaved Head 5 O'Clock Shadow SPESS MUHREEN protagonist, but we all know 90%+ of their fanbase is not white male tree-trunk necked bulging-vein steroid abusers/lovers of that particular character archetype. Was it the Squidgirls from Mass Effect? I still feel like Japan pulled that off better. Another trial lawyer talent is noticing when other people use ridiculous hyperbole and then calling them out on it, acting all indignant. LUDICROUS HYPERBOLE!

Most importantly, did you remember to "mind the gap"? Looks like it, since I'm still here... Went to Oxford today. Haven't been there in almost 20 years.

I just blew through my trip budget in the first 8 hours... I'll be the bearded viking busking at gloucester road tube station ;P

I'm not sure I can imagine a scenario where Raphael Sbarge would be unavailable...

I think that is Bruce's idea of a perfect romance?

Not the wheel per say, but the whole game. Also it's counter intuitive for PC players who use the keyboard to select which dialogue they want. It's not a big secret that the dialogue wheel was created to make it easier for console players to select the dialogue. Yes, there are several people here who play on PC and enjoyed DA II. You can use the numpad to select dialogue options. I also find it odd you're suggesting that PC players only use the keyboard as opposed to constantly clicking on small areas with a mouse. I thought DA2 was a good game, not great but entertaining enough and I played it on PC...as always. The issues I had with it weren't anything to do with the dialogue but the reused dungeons and monsters just appearing out of the air I actually thought the mooks dropping down from the walls was an entertaining mechanic and definitely changed the core gameplay of DAO (= use storm of the century whenever you can and scripted ambushes) into something more. They used it too much, though. Really dug the story, it did have issues in the final act, but they seemed to be more related to the short dev cycle than a conceptual failure.

I found the VO during the hacking sequence at the end if the first level particularly brilliant.

I played dao first on a console and it was terribad, which could impact my perceptions. My latest dao run on pc was about as enjoyable as passing a kidney stone.

Oh it's a great thing, but for console players. Would be intersting to find out how many of the people who liked DA2 played it on a console. Played it on pc, have no issues with it.
