I'm going on a crusade to make sure all male video game characters have more realistic physiques. That is, pot bellies and can't run for more than 50 feet without huffing and puffing. I mean, apparently big breasted female video game characters give a bad message to girls. So the same should really apply to the risk of boys feeling bad about their bodies because they don't look like those muscle-bound hunks in their video games. I know you are being facetious but the analogy isn't quite the same. If you want to understand why they want to reduce the inordinately large sizes of womens breasts in some games a similar example would be male characters who have massive and bulges where there p***s are. It would looks silly and isn't unrealistic. I also believe most guys would have an issue with it, this is about the objectification of women and there physiques. I don't think its unreasonable or is going to dilute your gaming experience in anyway? No, that's exactly the feminist fallacy. That portraying women with an idealized physique somehow cheapens them, and yet is a completely different thing when it comes to males. In fact, the real fallacy of common feminism is trying to replace one set of double standards with another instead of trying to do away with them.

The funny thing is if folks see a man in public with a gun as long as he isn't acting weird or threatening anyone it really doesn't get much thought. But if you see a guy with a sword the automatic assumption is that he's nuts even if he's not doing anything wrong. At least that's how it is around here. I'd still go for the reloading supplies. Besides, I'm sure you heard the story about the guy who brought a sword to a gunfight. It's a pretty short story. Mmh, a sword probably negates the main advantage of a knife, the quicker draw (though if you are an Iaido master, it might not). The local popos have done some in-depth calculation on the range where a gun becomes "safer" than a knife. It's actually quite disturbing.

Hate to derail my own thread, but I picked up Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle today, the gencon D&D Next playtest adventure to look at the rules a bit (I've managed to completely dodge them until now). Was actually pleasantly surprised, it looked a lot more, well, "freestyle" than anything for a while. A lot of small simple rules that cover a lot of situations and so on. I loved the fact that they'd done away with the skills, but I understand those were bolted back on later. Looks like I'll be picking up me some 5e books come summer, it's been a cheap ~5 years, anyway.

If she enjoys all three, you should pull a Guard Dog.

So he has as many expressions as Sean Payton, apart from the puckering?

You have access to better insomnia cures than I do.

Woldan already kind of mentioned this, but a cotton ball lathered in vaseline is a decent way of keeping your ear dry - I had ear issues as a kid and had to use those for years. (Also, there might be other applicable uses for the vaseline I was totally unaware of as a child) I had a similarly itchy ear for over a year after I left the army, so I really feel for you, even though it never got that bad! Meanwhile, we only got snow over the last weekend, but the sidewalks are now slippery as ****. I need to try the Vibram soles tomorrow and see if even those work...

I thought that's what it was!

In theory, the whiners are one of favourite teams, but in practice, harbaugh gives me the heebiejeebies. Had to stop watching the saints game after the first quarter btw., writing was already on the wall.

I dunno, I always liked Forgotten Realms as the Fantasy Kitchen Sink (ie. the way it was in early 2e). Their constant fudging, mostly for the sake of fudging, hasn't really helped. Sure, it being the setting of some of my favourite crpgs definitely has an impact on the opinion. I was also a big fan of the 2e way of handling the planes (with the wheel and all) and I still can't really understand the changes they did for 3e... and I don't own a single 4e book, unless Murder in Baldur's Gate and the new Icewind Dale adventure count (they have 3.5e and DnDNEXT stats as well).

The exhaust sounds! Er... Fuel mileage? Actually, I think I've said it before, a burger joint is a great place for a first date. Eliminates vegenazis and the ones who starved themselves for four months to latch to a guy before they plan on balloining again (a girlfriend once said the latter should be prosecuted for frayd...) :D

I'm afraid that Highland Park Valhalla Collection is as close to drinking myself to Valhalla as I'll get, either.
