  1. Well, that assumes that there is a 'right' option. When you are not calling it a FN FiveseveN or even a Samael FiVeSeVeN, you have this thing called artistic license - you can grab the 'look' of a weapon and not be tied to the calibres it uses. I seem to remember once an uproar about the HUGE MISTAKE of having a 9mm DESERT EAGLE somewhere. Turns out the weapon in question was the IMI Jericho 941 (marketed in the US as the Magnum Research Baby Eagle due to the Americans Desert Eagle fetish) that has similar design but comes in a more sensible calibre (and is in fact pretty much a purtied up CZ-75, afaik). The e-mails also mention the Eschelon system. (hint. Echelon).
  2. I thought the Fury animation was cheesy in a good way, I like it This is definitely a preorder game for me. Apart from my inability to preorder locally at the moment, the only other thing stopping me is that I have yet to see or hear anything of the PS3 version. I'd prefer to get the PS3 version over the X360, so I guess I'll wait for a little longer... Edit: forgot the crucial. WOW this game looks SWEET!
  3. I actually take a bit of offense here. I went to film school, have a degree and worked on a lot of shorts of both my own and many other students. The animators on the cinematics crew typically study animation to work on animated features as well as game play animations and they all do some amazing work. Personally, I enjoy Avellone's writing as much or more than that found in any feature. Blanket statements like this simply aren't accurate with current video game production teams. I concur. 'Cept I went to law school. All kidding aside, there's more than a few Hollywood blockbusters that could have benefited from some serious script doctoring by Chris Avellone. Happily, in the game format, I get to enjoy the writing for a lot longer than the ~2 hours. On the animation side, I think that it's been the side in gaming that has most developed over the past few years, as the medium becomes less of the limiting factor. I believe a lot of people are going to be blown away by what some of the AAA titles this year and early next year will be offering.
  4. Working for me. I tried spotting the shotguns, but even if they have a clear origin, the ~5 major tactical shotguns come in so many varieties and look so similar that slapping that extendable stock and picatinny rail on a shortish variant of any of them ends up pretty close to the Howitzer. The AK-style selector on the Regulator is throwing me off, though. Original design?!
  5. I was hoping for "dealer marketing" ie. first one is free
  6. Brilliant work in this thread! Any chance of getting one of the guy on the left: http://friedbananas.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/hot_fuzz.jpg (linking to not make the thread a load nightmare) Thanks in advance!
  7. Oops, read up on Twitter and turned to Sega Europe.
  8. Tell me about it. The increase of bonus content (pre-order or otherwise) is just making this more and more common. I think it's just neat that there are varying versions of a game, that buying another game by the same developer can give you a bonus on another game etc. Smart marketing. The only thing that makes me a Sad Panda is when Geography (living in Europe) conspires against me and I have no possibility of getting the bonuses. Still not something that would result in epic rants from me, though
  9. Looks like the Bourne is there (colour scheme), the Bauer is there (the guns), the Bond is somewhat absent but could be represented by the globe, and the guy being in shadows does kind of give off the right espionage vibe. Gets the job done, and doesn't look bad... So I guess I like it!
  10. Is there any word on availability outside the U.S.? Either as preorder bonuses or DLC? Anyway, really looking forward to the game!
